Replacing an Old Night Owl system, almost went with another Brand because the old system was so bad in App remote connectivity and pic quality. Decide to give a chance on new 4k system with existing cable. i made a great decision to stay with Night Owl, New system have great connections and great pics. Thank You Night Owl

We upgraded our system from an older Night Owl DVR and cameras. The picture clarity and the ease of the software to make it mobile viewable was so much better than our old system. I was told that the old cameras and cables were not compatible but they actually were, which made it much easier to install because I didn't have to pull wires except for the cameras I added.

I have this equipment for 3 weeks now and there are some features to improve: definitely the App; besides not so user friendly it doesn’t respond fast enough when want to have access for a quick view or to check a sensor alert. Also I have to close it totally very often to make it respond and load the cameras. The other not so good features are the cameras speakers and the siren. Those aren’t good quality and hard to understand the prerecorded message or when having a conversation by the two way audio cameras. On the other hand, the good things it has are the good quality video of the cameras and the no need to have a tv or monitor connected to set up the system.

I bought this item/kit, and the first one was DOA (no output signal yo the TV), the replacement one DID come fairly quickly but I was getting a weak output signal from it too as the TV would flash off and on, Customer Experience This booking page is currently unavailable. If it wasn’t for the first dvr being faulty, I would have given it 5 stars.

I defiantly would have passed on this set up all together. How can a company make a set of security cameras, with no audio recording available?? This is my second set of cameras with Night Owl, my first being a WiFi 1080p bundle and they worked so great! I am definitely not happy with these.

We hooked this DVR up to another set of cameras already hard wired in our home. (That system was through Q-See who apparently went out of business during the pandemic. The DVR we had for the Q-See system had started making noises and we believe the fan was starting to go). This works perfectly EXCEPT our TV is only HD and we didn't realize it needed to be a 4K in order to put the program onto the TV itself. It works fantastically though via our mobile devices and that actually has been working out well. The DVR is quiet. Eventually we will install the four cameras that came with this DVR.

This unit is a replacement for an older model. The software is much nicer to work with. The older unit handled 8 cameras and the new one handles 12. The one and only issue is with the remote software. You must have a cellphone to set it up. The world still has people who do not need nor want a cellphone. I do have a tablet but its not tied to a cell service. When you try to create an account it wants to send you a code as part of the first time log in. It sends it to a cellphone number not to the email address it asked you to provide. It will not allow you to create the account. I talk with a rep but he indicated my only option is to use someone's cellphone. The best option would be to have the code sent to a standard email which I can receive on any device.

I upgraded to the 2 tb dvr, it seems a little better than the 1tb. Still streams to your mobile device in kbs. If that could become mbs i would actually like this unit. Otherwise i only like it when I'm at the dvr viewing footage. It live streams ok until you select an individual camera then that kbs screws it all up.

The cameras work great for the most part however they freeze up at times. They don't always capture the events that we need them too and they sometimes go blurry. Yet they do serve for what we need.

Lost all cameras and went on chat with service tech and he found the power supply to cameras was bad, sent me a link so I could order the part. Very happy with service and replacement part. Fast delivery
