The most telling thing about this litter is that my cat, who is usually sensitive to change, didn't mind this litter! It don't upset him in any way and he continued to use his litter box like normal. The litter did exactly what it claimed to do: it clumped well and made sifting easy. It also trapped odors well; we never smelled foul odors while testing this litter. Fresh Step Odor Shield is a good cat litter that makes maintaining your cat's litter box easy and provides solid odor control. We give it two paws up… recommend!

This is a clumping cat litter and can be used for multiple cat households. I absolutely love the scent. It lasts throughout the day and keeps the litter area smelling fresh and clean. There is no cloud of dust when pouring, huge plus for me. It clumps very well and doesn't fall apart when scooping. Absorbs very well and the cats leave less of a mess when exiting.

But Fresh Step with activated charcoal worked better for odor control. But the little pieces of charcoal would get in my carpet and leave black marks. This type doesn't do that but it's not as good at Odor Control. I don't like that this or any other litter I have tried makes the liquid waste stick so badly to the bottom of the litter box. I wish something could be done about that.

The clumping factor is impressive; it forms tight, solid blocks almost instantly, making scooping way less of a chore. It doesn't crumble apart when you lift it, which keeps the rest of the box clean. Plus, the carbon and Febreeze combo actually handles the "multi-cat" odor as promised. Definitely a solid choice for maintaining a fresh-smelling home.

The febreze scent is nice, not overpowering at all. Works great at producing tight clumping. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because they track it out of the litter box and on to the floor a bit more than some other litters I have used. Its a very fine litter, so I think thats why. I had no issues with my cats using the litter box when I used this product. I have bought it again because I like the odor control and clumping.

My first impression was that it had a large amount of dust when I poured it in. It does seem to clump very well and I have not noticed much of an odor at all, which is great. The dust and the tracking are high though.

In addition it's amazing that Sam's think we're so stupid as to not notice that not only cat litter but paper towels, toilet tissue, along with many other items have been reduced in the amount you get and then with price increases you're basically paying more for 1/3 less product! Nice Sam's, thanks for helping your customers by increasing prices and reducing the amount of product we get. I had a paper towel roll in my shed from a year ago and just got new shipment of paper towels and comparing the two the new rolls are 20%-25% smaller and more money!
More money for less product!

Overall, it performed about how to expect from a standard clumping litter, but a few few things I liked, and a few things that stood out to me. The clumping itself worked well and was easy to scoop, forming solid clump similar to most other clumping letters I’ve used. It didn’t fall apart while skipping and kept the litter box. Relatively easy to maintain day today. The scent was pleasant at first and helped freshen the litter box for the first couple of days after a full change. However, I didn’t notice that the order control scent didn’t seem to last as long as I expected...

EricaC - 2 out of 5 stars review10/26/2019I'm pretty sure that if I opened all four bags, and dumped them into a 35 gallon bucket, it would not reach the same level of cat litter as the brand I had been buying.I feel like I'm getting cheated. The litter itself is very heavy, like sand. I was curious why each bag felt so heavy, when they are as big as a 5 lb. bag of sugar, which is light in comparison. I don't know the reason. Scooping out the clumps is hard at the bottom of the litter box. You'll need a hard plastic spatula or a metal scraper. Some clumps stay together, some break apart. The perfume is too strong, but that fades away during and after use. The heavy perfume doesn't prevent the cats from using the litterbox, but they'd probably be more comfortable with the unscented....

It was a good deal and I figured I would try to stronger “multi-cat” even though I only have 1 cat. I am diligent about keeping it clean and do a complete replacement every Wednesday. By Sunday I had to open the windows to air out the smell it was so bad. I doctored it up with extra odor additives to survive until the dump on Wednesday but I will never use this brand again. There was so much sticky clay I had to clean off the scooper after each use too. I’m fully aware that I am on the more OCD end of cat owners but this was a complete waste of my money. I didn’t use the rest of it and won’t even donate it to a shelter, it’s that bad. I’m going back to my brand and will not be buying any ve...

Then they replaced it with this, I have tried all of the new line and I completely dislike it, i have switched to Arm & Hammer. Sure wish they would bring back the outstretch.

Not anymore. I thought my cat was having issues, but after reading the reviews I realize it’s the litter. Will not be using any longer. Will find a better product for my cat.
