This could be a great playset if it was built with a good quality wood. The set came complete and was not too difficult to assemble overall. The quality of the wood was terrible, however. I had to set my drill to the lowest setting to keep from stripping the screw holes. During a strong thunderstorm about 8 months after assembly it cracked up into pieces and blew apart.

We bought this playset for our three sons, ages 2-11. It was delivered within 8 days of ordering it and we immediately inventoried all the wood (this is a MUST). Just as many reviews before mine, we found we were missing 7 boards. No problem, we called and they were shipped Fedx air, no questions asked. It took my husband (a strong but not so handy guy), my brother-in-law (a mechanical engineer), and myself (a not so handy girl) approx 18 hours to build this from start to finish. I won't say it was easy to assemble because it wasn't, even our engineer got confused by some of the directions. And most boards are poorly marked so I had to spend time figuring what they were based off their hole patterns and then marking them myself. I saved us a TON of time by doing some leg work in advance. I strongly recommend you sort the hardware into plastic, well marked bins and sort the wood based off page #'s, not part #'s. For instance, page 1 requires board H11, H3, H4, B1, B2, B3, H10.... so I had those set aside in a neat pile. I did that with every single page all the way through the book and it made everything fly by smoothly since no one had to stop to look for the next board, they were already sorted, organized and ready to go. This is the perfect job for a teenager or wife that wants to be helpful. I also took care of putting the lock and flat washers on the bolts so no one would have to pause to do that, another easy job for someone looking to help out. My kids absolutely LOVE this playset and are having a blast playing on it. There really is something for everyone and enough room so no one is in anyone's way. For the price you won't beat this playset, it truly is the best one out there.

We are actually in the process still of putting this set together, but i wanted to come on here and write a review as soon as possible to hopefully save someone else the horror of a set. it was a bday gift for our 3 year old and her father has been working 2 days now trying to get it together, on his third day I get a photo of one of the main beams completely slit at a notch, without him even drilling into it. Several other pieces would split as soon as hardware was put into it. the hardware is nice and tough but the wood cant hold up to it. I am almost scared to let my daughter play on it when it is finished. This is 100% not worth the money we paid.

We are very happy with the purchase of this playground. My husband was able to build it in less than 2 days with some help. Our kids and their friends are having a blast playing and the little table is so fun for outdoor meals! A few of the boards did split slightly when putting it together, but overall it’s really good quality and should provide fun for years to come :)

Like many people posting here, i did not take this purchase lightly. I looked around at various retailers, read reviews, etc. This playset by and far gave the most bang for the buck. I'm a pretty handy guy and the construction wasn't overly difficult. Numerous times, i did have to remove a part to flip it around since the directions were not clear or hard to read. Other times, the ordering of the steps was counter-intuitive and required parts to be removed in order to put others on. I noticed on some parts there was a bias of around 1/8" top to bottom or side-to-side on some of the holes that were supposedly centered. Oftentimes i found this out too late to remove them which ultimately led to some alignment issues down the road. The directs fail to mention that you will have to mark the footprint of the playground, move it, THEN twist in the anchors since there's not really a good way to do it otherwise. Also as mentioned before, the monkey bars are a bit precarious on the transition into the playground. My single biggest gripe for the playground is the length of the main swing beam. With 2 swings and the double rider, things are just too close together. I will be looking into a laminated beam that is at least a foot longer to replace the original. I'm aware that all the things i mentioned here are negatives. There are plenty of reviews that discuss the positive aspects of the playset and i find it important to explain the problems.

So, its been 2 weeks since I have finally had the swing set built. The kid absolutely loves this thing and while that is the sole reason we do any of this. I wanted to give an honest review of the entire set up. Now this review is for the DIYers not the ones who paid for installation. I'm quite capable and have all the necessary tools to do this job without even thinking twice as well as this is part of what I do for a living is installation maintenance and repair of items. 1) as was stated by others and myself now. It comes in with a lot of heavy boxes when delivered. Be prepared as this is something that you will have to be mindful of and how they are moved. 2) separate out the parts. Keep the parts list for each box and keep those boxes separate from one another. 3) Use sandwich bags and itemize each step with hardware to each bag. This process takes a long time but you will be happy when its done. This also allows for the ability to find out what is missing. Found a couple of items that were not shipped as far as hardware goes. Customer service is amazing for them and they shipped those items out next day by the way. Just do your diligence in regards to the hardware items. Count twice. put things in bags for each step and you will be less likely to throw things later. 4) the wood is questionable. Now granted chinese cedar is cheap and you can tell that by how soft that wood is. There's a great deal of warpage, but you almost have to accept that as it is wood and it does warp some. Though some of those pieces are brittle and some of them came in cracked. I made due and was able to make some pieces out of cedar I found at menards. This is something I just didn't want to wait for in the build process. 5) Pay attention to hole locations, sometimes the directions are a bit sketchy and after a period of time, and having to go back and forth many times, it gets daunting. I was less than impressed with the directions, but thats because I'm picky and I don't care for how these items were stamped. Some of those stampings you couldn't read so you were having to guess on those parts, hence why I said keep the parts list for each box and those items separated out. 6) the hardware, that stuff is cheap and some of the shavings were not completely cleaned out. The threads were fouled. Some nuts had metal shavings still attached to them and could not be used. Really just cheap stuff. You all that make this should do a better quality control of those items and the stamping of the wood. Also some of the holes did not line up either. 7) it is definitely a sturdy playset when its anchored into place, even with someone as big as myself climbing up on top to put the roofing in. All in all, again this is because my child loves this is why we purchased it. The headaches I experienced would be for anyone doing this assembly themselves, but I am so thankful I organized the hardware the way I did because I would have lost my mind putting this together each step only to realize I was missing items. It took us two full days to put a Thompsons Water Seal on every board. Then it took three more days to build the playground. Follow the instructions carefully and you will have no issues. Keep your lists from each box and keep all those boards in the boxes because it makes it easier to find specific boards. So far it has been great. The kids love it! Just another incentive to enjoy time outside in the fresh air.

Its a monster thats for sure! I guess i forgot to factor in all the ground work that needed to be done. And you will definently need at least 3people to help each day..about 3-4 full days. Sorting wood and parts can be a days work in its own. We received LOTS of split wood. Its so dry and cheap we will have to stain it this year too. We just finished building today. Started almost 2weeks ago but we only had 1good day of help and lots and lots of rain days. Directions were rather sketchy on some parts and we did have to take a prior step apart and redo. I will admit..if i didnt have to buy a ton of mulch for the 6inch safety rule i would have paid the $650 to have them come out and build it!

4 boxes when delivered plus the slide. Everything is labeled, locating parts takes time while assembling. We were missing a few screws but extras of other screws and bolts. One piece of wood was cracked M32. Online instructions and paperbook instructions were different order of assemble. The piece of wood that goes under the lookout platform as it attaches to the swing bar no directions to use it. Found it by looking up were that part went. 2 drills make the project go faster so you don't have to constantly change bits.

The Skyfort is the best playground hands down. The quality and price put it up there with more expensive playgrounds. My wife and I assembled one other smaller version of the Skyfort. I purchased the playground on sale, and was able to purchase-load-and go in about 30 minutes. Once home and unloaded, my awesome wife grouped all the pieces and marked the one's not clearly marked properly. Without her help I never would have gotten done in the short amount of time it took. We were short a couple of pieces, and the directions are not very clear; we were not new to this. Calling the 800 number put the pieces on our doorstep in about 2 days. It took about 30 hours to assemble and we added another slide for our son. These playgrounds are fun to put together and the quality of the materials is great. Have a plan before starting, plenty of tools and a weekend you can do it in. The kids love it. The Skyfort is holding its own; even against the BLIZZARD OF 2010!!!
