Customer reviews for SAMSUNG 85" Class Q6-Series 4K Ultra HD Smart QLED TV - QN85Q6DAAFXZA forRechargeable Remote
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our family has been a Samsung family for years. We upgraded from a 4 year old Samsung LED. To compare apples to apples the colors the colors are much more vibrant than they were four ago. It seemed that I went through batteries a lot with the old remote, but now I just turn it over and lay it in the sun ( it also has a USB charging port). If you don't habe cable it's ok with this TV, Samsung has a free chanel line up without doing anything more than connecting to the internet. When they say smart TV, this one is a genius... Hulu, Amazon Prime, Netflix, even my local cable provider has an app for it. We love sitting down to watch an action movie or a great comedy. This TV is the bomb.

WOW What a TV!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so impressed with the picture quality. When I watched a documentary about Pearl Harbor, it would normally be grainy footage from 70 years ago, instead it looked like I was there watching it unfold in person. We don't have a sound bar, but you don't really need one with this tv. The sound is perfect. When we took it out of the box, I couldn't believe how lightweight it was. I could lift it myself. It is so thin and sleek. I am happy that we could have the option to hang it up, and it was so easy to set up. Thank you for a beautiful tv. I would highly recommend it to everyone. And I want to purchase another one!
Worst purchase
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have always been Samsung buyers but this has been a bad experience. We can't get it synced with xfinity after hours of live phone phone conversations with Samsung and Xfinity. We also think the picture is more sharp on our old tv. Very disappointed.
Hi, Thank you for your review of Samsung's Q80A QLED 4K Smart TV and for sharing your experience when connecting to your cable provider's network. If you are using the Xfinity Stream Beta app from your TV's built-in App Store, please try the following steps: 1) Make sure your Samsung Smart TV is connected to the Internet. 2) Go to the Smart Hub on your Samsung Smart TV. 3) Use the arrow buttons on your remote to navigate to the Xfinity app icon. 4) Press Select on your remote to start the app. 5) Sign in using your Xfinity username and password. If you are connecting an Xfinity cable box, the first thing you may want to do (if you haven't already) is contact your cable company and see if there is an upgraded box available. If not, you can still get up to a 1080p (Full HD) picture with component connections, but for many TVs you will need a component to HDMI adapter if the TV does not support component out of the box. 1) Make sure the TV and cable or satellite box are turned off. 2) Connect an HDMI cable to your cable or satellite box’s HDMI out port, which should be located on the back. 3) Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to any of the empty HDMI ports on your Samsung TV. Note: Make sure to remember what number the port is so you can change your TV’s source to it in a moment. 4) Turn on your TV and the cable or satellite box. Now depending on your TV, a few different things may happen: Your TV may automatically recognize that you connected a cable or satellite box and not only switch to the source, but change the name of the source to the name of your cable box. You can now watch TV and control the cable box with your Samsung Smart TV remote. Note: This only works when using an HDMI connection. If nothing happens, that is ok. You need to either press Source on your remote or navigate to source using the on screen menu to change to the HDMI port that you connected your cable or satellite box to. If the picture you are seeing out-of-the-box are not to your liking, there are several picture settings you may want to try adjusting. You can select the Picture Mode that provides the best viewing experience. Go to Home > Settings > Picture > Picture Mode 1) Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments. 2) Natural: Reduces eye strain for a comfortable viewing experience. 3) Movie: Is suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room. 4) Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments. 5) Filmmaker Mode: You can watch the source content (e.g., movie) as it is. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it will automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching. You can also go to: Settings > Picture > Expert Settings > to manually fine tune your image. I hope these tips help. Should you ever have questions or need help, please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG (ask for TVs), available 8AM -12AM EST M-F (9AM – 6PM EST Sat). Or text HELP to 62913. Great TV & Great Value
the television is fantastic. it has a very clear and crisp picture, with so much color. it is almost like watching movies being filmed live. sound is good, but maybe i expected it to be a little more. however, i invested in a samsung sound bar and now my set is complete. it's like having a mini theater in my living room. i am very pleased!
Great image quality, bad performance
i use the tv for streaming. the picture quality is very good. the sound is good enough and loud enough. the user interface is very slow and not very intuitive, the remote is compact and self charging which is cool but it is also very sensitive and not easy to configure and lacks a button to select inputs, it gets lost all the time and it is too easy to accidentally launch services. i think the tv would be a good value if it was not for the unreliable software, the tv quits streaming abruptly and launches "samsung tv" at least once every 2 hours, sometimes it wont respond for a while and then it relaunches itself. the tv seems to have a particularly hard time running hulu reliably. my internet connection is pretty fast, my router is next to the tv
Samesong, Thank you for choosing the Q60A QLED TV and taking the time to share your experience with the Hulu app. This issue may be related to your network connection and quality. We suggest you try the following: 1. Use 5G Wi-Fi if possible 2. Try wired LAN if available 3. Try repositioning the router so there are no obstacles between your TV and the router Please also be sure you are running the latest firmware. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to: Settings > Support > Software Update. You may want to enable automatic updates for conveniences. Go to Settings > Support > Software Update, then select Auto Update. Additionally, to optimize the Smart TV performance, please try Device Care option under the Support Menu. Go to Settings > Support> Device Care > Start Device Care. This improves your apps performance as it frees up unused cached memory and closes background apps. I hope these tips help resolve your concerns. Should you need further assistance, please contact Samsung Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG (ask for TVs), available 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week. Great picture quality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The set up was easy. Tied it to Alexa love the feature to change channels with Alexa. Love the sound quality. Only issue is that there is a very light film on the tv that needs to be removed. Figured it out because a sticker was on the front of the TV. You first have to remove the films from the side, then at the bottom right corner with your thumb you can feel it and then pull off. Samsung support didn't know what was even talking about. But it all worked out in the end. Great TV!!
I want to love this TV, but...
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This TV is my first new one in a little over 10 years. I was fully aware that there have been a lot of changes in that time and I did a ton of research. There are some really strong positives, but there are a couple of drawbacks that are just perplexing. The positives most definitely include the screen and processing itself. I'm streaming from Netflix, HBO Max, YouTube from the built-in apps on the TV. I also have a 7 year old DVR from ChannelMaster and the level of detail that this TV brings out is phenomenal. My PS4 really rocks on this TV! I've only been able to play COD: Modern Warfare lately (I'm a teacher and I've been super-busy), but the game mode just kicks up the graphics several notches. Lastly, the Samsung TV channels are pretty cool. There are seemingly well over 100 with a huge variety for everyone. Drawbacks? First, when I'm watching streaming, sometimes the screen dims on it's own. I've checked to make sure that I've cut off the eco-mode and put the settings at a brightness I like, but it sometimes still happens. Second, there's NO DTS pass-through. I'll have to disconnect the PS4 (which acts as my Blu-ray player) and connect directly to the soundbar (instead of the TV as I have it now) to watch discs that have only DTS encoding. So, when I connect the PS4 to the soundbar, yes, I'll be able to hear and see my Blu-rays with DTS encoding. But I'll LOSE the TV as a hub. And will I lose the great 4K upscaling for movies or games? Will I lose Game Mode?
Mmuerte: Thank you for choosing the 2021 Q80A 4K TV and taking the time to share your experience. I’m glad to hear that you are happy with the picture brought to you by our Direct Full Array designed to bring scenes to life with more precise contrast controlled by in-screen lighting that delivers deep blacks and pure whites with minimal halo or blooming. The ECO sensor automatically adjusts the brightness level of the TV according to the ambient light level. If the ECO Sensor has adjusted the screen’s brightness level, you can select Min. Backlight to manually adjust the minimum screen brightness. You can also disable these features for steady brightness setting. Disable Brightness Optimization, Brightness Reduction, Motion Lighting, or Contrast Enhancer by going to: Settings > General > Power and Energy Saving > and adjusting the Brightness Optimization, Brightness Reduction, and Motion Lighting. To connect a device with DTS, please follow these steps: 1) Connect an HDMI cable from the HDMI OUT on your external device to the HDMI IN on the bottom of the Soundbar. 2) Connect a digital optical audio cable from the DTS port on the bottom of the Soundbar to the DTS port on your TV. 3) Press the Source button on the top panel or on the remote control, and then select HDMI 1 or HDMI 2. 4) Connected Source is displayed on the Soundbar display panel and sound plays. Beautiful Qled picture, weak sound
first off let me say im super happy with the tv it has a beautiful picture and it is one of the best i gave ever gotten so far. but the sound on this thing is weak. on standard it will scare you that something is wrong with your tv. cause at 80 its equal to where most others are at 20 once you adjust as they suggest to adaptive sound and make adjustments it helps but you would think with as much and as high quality as this tv is they could have put a little more effort and quality into the default speakers and audio.

BEWARE HIGH-PITCHED WHINING
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] PROS: This TV is perfect for watching movies and TV. I have never seen picture quality so bright and clear. I use a 48gb HDMI cord and the refresh rate is flawless. It is also good for playing video games, EXCEPT on game mode... CONS: The TV causes a high-pitched whine on (1) game mode and (2) ambient mode. I first noticed it on game mode. It is UNBEARABLE. I do not feel the need to use either ambient mode or game mode, so I can live with it, but if I was in the market for a new TV, I would not buy this model or even a TV made by Samsung. What is the point of paying so much for the latest TV when you can't even use all of its features? Samsung better fix this quick because I am definitely not the only one who has had this issue--Google it for yourself.

Great picture and easy to set-up!
We bought this TV towards the end of December 2021 and once we had unpacked, installed the feet and placed it on our TV console it was up and running in about 15 mins. As soon as the TV had connected to our home internet it downloaded the latest software version. We registered our streaming accounts and we were off and running. As soon as I hooked up the HDMI arc cable the TV recognised the brand and model of our soundbar and paired automatically. The TV remote works the soundbar as well. We like the Hot Buttons for Netflix and Prime on the remote and the fact that it charges by solar (or in fact any light). We wished that there was a Source button on the remote but otherwise very happy. We found that the built in Samsung software worked so well we did not need to use a Fire stick. The picture is very good after I did a simple adjustment to the factory settings. Sound from the built in speakers was better than I was expecting but we use a 5.1 soundbar system which is now working better than with our previous TV! Overall we highly recommend this TV.
Hi Bg3112, thanks so much for your kind words! We sincerely appreciate your feedback and will share this with our team. We hope you enjoy many years of great entertainment with your Samsung TV!Â
