I have made Jambalaya all my life down here in the south, the birthplace of the best food in the US. This mix is true New Orleans. Highly recommend it above any of the other common New Orleans brands.

I bought this and made both bags. I freeze meals. I am concerned about using a lot of fatty meats and always include extra vegetables because I am to loosing weight. But that doesn't mean I have to loose flavor or good food. If you have children and men...you may want to cook as recommended. I used half the recommended meat. I added a large onion and 4 stalks of celery, chopped and browned. Then, I added 6 sweet roasted red peppers, chopped...I bought the large sweet red pepper from Sam's. When finished, I added black beans with part of the mix...the black beans will form a protein with the white rice. I froze it in batches. Other vegetables can be added or served on the side.

I have always made boxed Zatarain's jambalaya in the rice cooker for my family. I decided to try this one for Easter. I will NEVER use Zatarain's again!!! This was soooo good. I cooked a pack of boneless skinless chicken thighs with two packs of Hillshire smoked sausage (cooked the meat in a skillet before hand.) I put the rice mix in my rice cooker and filled the cooker up with water to the 10 line. I then added the meat and stirred. I had to add a little bit more water mid way and cook a little longer but it was amazing. So excited about this mix!!!

Tastes great and is very easy to prepare. I saw it and picked it up not really having a need for it at the time. Made about 4 batches with chicken and sausage. Need to switch to andouille sausage. Also going to try seafood for the next cook

I buy this all of the time. I even got the earrings! Delicious and easy to prepare. Always a huge hit.

This stuff is amazing. Sadly it is no longer available at my local Sam's club in Alabama. Please please Sam's! bring it back!
