I normally use Hawaiian tropic but saw these at Sam's club and thought I would give them a try. We applied many times and still got sunburned. There's no way. Hawaiian tropic would have left me sunburned after reapplying every hour so I'm just going to have to accept that banana boat is trash.

After using BB products essentially since they became available solely due to--at least previously--having been trusted and reliable, our family picked up two brand new, unexpired cans of this product to take on a beach vacation. I also made my own for medical special case for myself, to be explained more shortly. Long story short, my wife and kids both received intense sunburns with Liberal application every 40 minutes with this BB SPF 50 product, while my own may have worked too well as I'm just as pale as when I left the previous week. I'm okay with that, and we ended up ditching the second of the two canned product for mine after everyone else went lobster on day two. We even used up one entire can on the first day, as I don't mess around with frequent application. Looking further into the instructions and checking production dates, it's 'good' to 2028, and the instructions were followed to the letter. The curious part is step 4, which dictates to "Cover Up!" If I were to cover up after applying the initial two applications of sunblock, say, at the beach with a swim suit, why would I need sunblock in the first place?! At any rate, the wife and kids have already asked me to make my treatment in a spray application for next time.

Entire family experienced chemical burns at the beach yesterday and we followed the application directions. Will not ever buy this product again. My kids never burn and we have our own pool at home so we are always in the sun!!! This is crazy and has put a huge damper on our vacation…wish I hadn’t bought 4 bottles of this crap! And this is only a few of our pictures there were 5 of us and we are all extra crispy!!

My son used banana boat 50 SPF this past Saturday on an outing with his friend and her family and is horribly burned despite several applications. In fact we visited the doctor today and he’s has second degree burns. I would not allow him to use this product again and wouldn’t recommend it to others.

I’ve used this product for years on my family and I don’t know if they changed the formula but after a day at the beach my whole family is burnt. Yes we re applied. I’m 43 years old and know to re apply. Our skin looks like we used nothing. We are not a light complected family that burns easily but I have always believed in using sunblock because protecting your skin is important. I’ve never looked up recalls before but I just had to because I just don’t know what was different this time. I also made sure the store didn’t sell me an expired product. I hate to leave a negative review but I dont know how else to fins out if there is an issue with it.

Been using it over the past week and my husband and I have both reacted to the product. It’s given him acne and I’ve developed a rash. Sure the price is right and it lasts but definitely not worth the side effects. Better options out there

Used this as directed applying multiple times and have the worst burns I’ve ever experienced in my life. Please do not use this product the burns are chemical like and you will need to medicated, biggest regret I will never use this again.

I used this product on my arms for a number of months. It seemed to work well as a sunscreen but it caused all of the hairs to fall out. The only place that it didn't was under my Fitbit.
