It does NOT provide 50 spf protection. Please be careful. Despite reapplying, as directed, my skin burned to a bright red. You may think, I didn’t use enough, or something, but I used plenty, repeatedly. After the burn, I was worried that the cans had been mislabeled as 50, and found several lawsuits over the years against banana boat with finding of <13 spf in 50 spf bottles. I hope you have better luck than I.
