The last couple times that we purchased this item, the salt was all crumbled and powdery. 
This creates a problem in the water softener tank.

The salt required for a water softener is pretty basic and Morton salt fills the bill at a competitive price in nice packaging with handles.  The super luxury of home delivery to the door is wonderful.  I have back issues, and home delivery is a beloved luxury.
