It is always nice to get a little more than you paid for. This gazebo looks excellent and is very functional. It is a lovely addition to our backyard and well worth the money spent. The wood and hardware are exceptional, and the instructions are easy to follow.

Very nice piece for your property! Website offers someone to put it together for you for an expensive price. Honestly this project was over whelming coming out of the box.. full table of hardware (nuts, washers and bolts) 2 tarps full of pieces to assemble. Having it together and knowing what I know now I’d pay to have it put together unless you have a solid week of nothing to do… us 2 men got it put together in 4 sun up to sun down days… The app to use to build this is absolutely awesome. 360 view and you can tap every item to see what it is (down to a washer) and rotate it any way you want. I wish every assemble project was on that app. Although we did run into some part number issues and had to refer back to the hard copy Manuel as bolts 999 do not exist in the package and the app calls for them. A few things where off from the app to book but it was easy to figure out once we looked at the book. Still very worth using the app for assembly. 10/10 recommend staining before putting together. Each section and center beams where 4 boards that had to be bolted together to make one board, that seemed like it could have just been one board cut to spec for each section and would have saved about a days labor but I’m not an engineer so take that for what it’s worth. Also the sheet metal roof, each section of the roof (3) sections came with one little small strip of sheet metal to put at the end of each section. The sheet metal could have been cut wider to fit 8 sheets per section instead of 8 and adding the little strip.. that added extra time to the build. Once all together it’s super heavy, very sturdy and beautiful. We used this to cover our concrete pad at the back door to turn it into a covered patio instead of using it as a carport. It worked great and fits right under the gutters almost against the house. All in all PAY someone to put it together for you!

Bought this about a month ago and finally was able to put it together after painting and getting it powder coated to match my wifes shed. As they say happy house happy spouse right. Took about two days, probably would of taken just one day but i started late and it was starting to get hott. Instructions were clear , parts, nuts and bolts were easy to find. Added some clip on fans for the hot summers when bbq’ing.

This 20x20 carport kit arrived in 11 boxes. When we opened them, there was hundreds of boards and several hundred bolts, nuts, screws, washers and brackets. This could all be intimidating! But, my wife (age 71) and I (age 75), sorted out the lumber and applied an outdoor stain to all of the pieces. We also sorted out the hardware. Luckily, my 75th birthday party coincided with the need to erect the nine vertical posts, so we had help. You really do need extra people for this step. After that, it was all on my wife and I. Took us about three days to finish, working short days because of the heat. A few things to note: Every drilled hole was exactly in the right place. However, on some occasions, boards had to be flopped to align the holes, otherwise you'd think the holes were drilled in the wrong spots. Try not to leave the untreated boards out in the blazing sun. They will twist. Be careful on opening the bags of hardware to keep all of the pieces in their bags, and to be able to read the numbers on the ripped-open bags. You cannot spend too much time squaring the roof. We must have measured it 20-25 times as we went along, before putting up the metal panels, as each time we worked on plumbing the posts and installing the rafters required a slight adjustment. As it was, we were 1/4 inch off, and that 1/4 inch did show up when we put on the metal panels. We installed this carport onto a concrete barn floor laid about 100 years ago. They made concrete tough in those days. Several of the screws we drilled into the concrete snapped off just as they were getting tight. (This also happened with concrete screws we bought at Home Depot, so not necessarily the result of low quality screws by the company.) While the instructions say not to get on the roof, unless you have long, long arms, you do have to either sit on the roof beams or lean way over to screw in the metal roofing panels. But I never felt any weakness from the structure when doing so. Oh, I was lucky and had a dental procedure this summer which has limited my eating. Consequently, I lost about 20 pounds. You need to be lean to fit through the holes between rafters in order screw in the panels from above. By following the instructions (and reading ahead a few pages) this project was very do-able for us. It turned out so beautiful that even our neighbor, who is a building contractor and perfectionist, has complimented us. It does the job of keeping our car and other vehicles dry and is a wonderful addition. We would recommend this carport.

We love the cedar and metal stylings and the Saxony XL is ample enough to accommodate our Kamado Joe smoker plus our Napoleon Phantom grill. We opted for the professional installation from Backyard Discovery, which was totally awesome. Within a few hours we were able to enjoy this new addition to our home’s entertainment area. We added shatterproof Edison bulbs to the gazebo adding a fun party vibe. Truly, we could not be more pleased. Well done Backyard Discovery. This is an A+ for us.

Assembly was simple, the quality is fantastic and it completely changed how my backyard looks and feels! I recommend this product to everyone that sees it.

We purchased two of them with the assembly services included. We joined them side by side against the house wall making a great 40'x9.5 shaded space in the backyard. Because we bolted them to the wall we were able to remove 2 columns (house side). The space looks great, and has transformed our backyard. We now eat there all the time with family and friends. We stained it (clear stain) to give it more protection against the weather. We also added a fan and string lights which make it look even better. This product is robust and off good quantity. Big value for the price. I would recommend this to anybody. The assembly team was great too and was able to assemble them both in one day (10 hours). I took care of the bolting to the house and cutting of the columns.

Assembly directions where so simple to follow and went togther as directed. Was able to do 90 percent solo and then with an extra person came togther quickly. Only thing I needed to add afterwords was so drip edge to the backside to further keep the rain off the back end.

Love this thing. We were able to put it up in about 14 hours. Super easy instructions. Measurements were great do we could assemble exactly where we wanted it. A few days after it was up we had rain early in the morning. The sound of the tin roof brought me back to camping with my parents. Looks great, feels super sturdy. One of the best improvement to our home so far. And the chat feature on the site is truly great. Fast and straight to the point answers. Already contemplating a smaller one to replace our old cloth covered pergola for my grills.

This is the 2nd Backyard discovery structure (1st was the 12 X 20 cedar unit) I have bought and built. Amazing structures with beautiful wood and top-grade hardware. They are very tedious to put up but if you follow the detailed instructions page by page, the end result is very nice and worth the time. I put up this by myself using my tractor with forks to hold the leg assemblies up while I attached the side pieces. Very happy with the final product.
