I bought this a year ago. Lately, it’s started to freeze and restart Roku on my tv. There is no red light on the streaming player. The wi-fi receiver is not located near exposed input ports or resting on other electronic devices. Also, my wi-fi signal is strong—the tv is only a few feet from my router. Roku has no tech support phone, and the instructions that come with the Stick have no troubleshooting information. I wasted my money. I do not recommend this product.

I love my Roku stick and my roku account. I watch a lot of movies on the Roku Channel. I received my first Roku stick as a Christmas gift. I have cancelled my Satellite service since that time because it was expensive and I have not missed it at all. There is plenty to watch on Roku.

I’ve owned several Roku models and have never had much luck with the sticks because the remotes never seem to work. But it had been a few years since I tried a stick so I thought the problems must have been worked out by now. Nope. The remote just doesn’t work consistently. It will work for a few button pushes, then stop responding. The TV volume and power still work, but the RF talking to the stick just stops. New batteries? Didn’t work. HDMI extender? Nope. USB plugged directly into the wall? Nope. Updating the device? Done, no help. Nothing works. And the sad part is I replaced an existing 3800X with this because of… remote problems. Back it goes and a new Ultra is on the way, hopefully the new rechargeable remote doesn’t have the same issues.

I purchased 4 Roku Streaming sticks for 4 different TV's, 2 TVs did not have HDMI ports, so I had to purchase 2 additional external HDMI to RCA adapters. On all TVs the Roku sticks work great. Just on the older RCA TV the Roku remote will not control the TV's power or volume so I have to use the original remote that came with the TV to power it on/off and adjust the volume. I purchased these Roku streaming sticks to watch YouTube TV when I dropped the really expensive Dish TV.

I have always loved Roku over firestick. However, since buying a new Roku, suddenly, the sound cuts out every couple of minutes. I looked into it and there are several threads and blogs complaining that there is no way of fixing it... That Roku always reverts back to check your cables. I cannot in good faith recommend this product any longer.

I am very happy that we chose to go with the ROKU. I am probably the least savvy when it comes to all the new technology, but I was able to set this up and get it going in minutes once I created a ROKU account, which was quick and easy to do also. I have been wanting to dump my cable service for quit some time which is full of useless garbage channels that no one watches but, you pay a mint for!! So glad we've chosen to go a different direction.

I love how easy Roku is to use with voice command, apps and live tv... and Roku even works with my cable provider, all on one remote. The only thing missing is numbers on the remote to go straight to a cable channel, but the guide is quick and clear, so it's not a big deal to get used to. I wish I'd gotten Roku seven firesticks ago!!!!
