We have two of these shredders in the office and they work very well. Very portable, durable and quiet. Shreds multiple sheets, cards and staples with ease. Safety feature prevents accidents and the bin is easy to empty. Good choice for a busy office.

I cannot speak to endurance, because I've only had this shredder for a few weeks. I do love, it, though. My last shredder was also a Fellowes but with few features and a smaller container. After a year, it stopped working properly (had to continually move the backwards, forwards mechanism to get it to slowly take the two pages it would shred). This one takes multiple sheets and corrects itself (moves briefly backward) when it begins to jam. Consequently, so far, it is jam-proof. It lets me know if I am putting too many sheets in. It does make some noise, but less than some and not distasteful. So far, I am very pleased.

Excellent product design, operation. The instruction manual. registration process are terrible. It seems the manual writers are not thinking outside the box. Other than the paper itself, the organization, content, pictures are just very unfriendly. I can't understand when you have an excellent product, why don't you have excellent manual too. My sense is the staff have been doing this for years . You may need some freshness as well as strong independent quality assurance staff.

my classroom uses this shredder everyday. It is very useful, practical. My students have autism and love to see the paper go down in the shredder. Plus the noise is constant, which autistic individuals like. The only thing that I don't like is it can only be used for about 12 minutes before it has to be shut down to prevent the motor from overheating.

Purchased this shredder to safely dispose of several boxes of old client tax returns. It really made this lingering job go quite fast with its ability to shred several page at a time and it never once jammed. It's quite operation was a pleasant surprise compared to my old shredder. What would have taken at least a week with my old shredder was accomplished over two days. The cross cut feature definitely ensured that none of the client's information could be used for identity theft.

I am very pleased that I purchased the Fellowes PS-79Ci for my home office. I have shredded thousands of documents with staples, plus some CD's and a credit card and have not had any problems. There have been no jamming problems with the exception of when the storage bin becomes too full and the system shuts-down. I have learned to watch the storage capacity more carefully to avoid overfilling.

I purchased this shredder when another one I had -- a cheap model costing less than fifty dollars -- broke the second time I used it. I looked at a lot of shredders and compared features and prices, and this one seemed to do a lot without costing a lot. I'm glad I bought it. It is simple and sturdy, and works quietly and well. It's on casters so it's easy to move. The controls are simple and intuitive. It chews and swallows what you feed it without a struggle. And it's surprisingly quiet! Buy this shredder!

Got this shredder a few weeks ago-- and it's been great! Had some major shredding to do since I was moving out and this shredder handled it. It got through the jams without any problems. Was very impressed. Wish there was a way to better empty the basket since I always get pieces of paper falling out of the shredder--but I think they are all like that and it can't be helped. All in all, a great shredder-- and it's so quiet!!

Great shredder for the price. So far the once or twice I have jammed it was very easy to unjam using the reverse switch. The cross-cut shredding makes it impossible to reassemble anything that was shredded. The trash liners are very easy to remove and replace without spilling any shreddings that would have to be cleaned up later. This shredder is nothing but first class all the way.

It is very nice not having to spend more time clearing a jammed shredder than actually shredding a few sheets of paper! The casters make it very easy to move. It is extremely safe, quiet, and even though I've had it for a relatively short time, it seems well built. I expect it to last a long, long time without problems. I used to dread using the previous (un-named) unit, and now, with the Fellowes PS-79Ci it's actually fun!!
