This is one of the few items I have bought in the last 10 years that does exactly what it's supposed to do. We had to shred all the legal papers of a relative that passed away let me tell you it did that so easy and so quickly it was unbelievable. We like these shredders so much we purchased 3 more after we've had our first one for at least 5 years, which by the way is still going strong. We do so much shredding that we decided everyone in the office needed one desk side. You can shred quite a few pieces at one time. We get so much junk mail we need to shred it and we don't even have to open the mail, just feed the entire envelope through and it handles it like a champ.

This is the second year that this product was offered in a silent auction at a church dinner we attended. I had tried for it last year, but not successfully. This year was different! I won! I am so very pleased that I did win. Even my husband could see why I was excited about the quality of this item as soon as he opened the box. He spent the next half hour shredding the items I had been accumulating to safely destroy. Identity theft once is bad enough, but three times is just absurd. We will never have that happen again with our Fellowes PS-79Ci. Thank you, Fellowes, for a quality product.

Works well. Does not jam or is easily "unjammed" by reversing. Doesn't really eat up "heavier" paper products, as you may need to clear the shredded strands or the "bin full" light will go on. Still, the machine does it's job. Would not recommend for a multi-person environment. Spend the money and get a larger capacity shredder, if more than one user.

I thought that the 79Ci that I purchased 6 years ago would last longer. I maintained the shredder periodically and oiled it as necessary. I do not know what the average life expectancy of the shredder is. I used it 2-3 days a week with average use (40 sheets a day)

I've had four shredders in the last five years. All have quit because of jams, etc. This shredder is great. It's quiet, and won't jam. It takes the pages easily and doesn't bog down like the cheaper shredders I've had in the past. It's well worth spending a little extra and getting a high quality product instead of replacing it with another low price shredder every 9 to 12 months. I love it and would recommend it to everyone.

Fellowes makes a great shredder. I purchased the powershred 79Ci and I'm very satisfied with my choice. It is the quietest shredder I have ever owned. Powerful enough to shred 16 sheets at once. I like the safety features which protects you from injuries. It is compact and durable. The Jam Resistant feature was a big consideration in making this purchase. For the price it offers a lot.

I am very pleased with my new Fellowes 79Ci shredder. I replaced a lower capacity shredder from another manufacturer when it became damaged. I almost cannot believe how my efficiency has increased with the 79Ci. What would take hours to shred before, now only takes minutes. I am actually happy that my previous unit was damaged and required replacement. The increased efficiency is well worth the investment!

Was tired of replacing my shredder in my home office every year and decided on this model after reading the reviews. Unit is very durable and I think this might be a keeper. It works really well and is very safe. Few things could be better- gets hot and shuts down after about a half hour of heavy shredding but cools down in about 15 minutes- also, it is really messing dumping the unit as the bag gets stuck in the pail and rips. It has a front draw to get the pail out(one of the reasons i bought this model)however getting the bag out causes some problems- all in all I like this unit.

I am extremely pleased with my Fellowes PS-79Ci, it performs as advertized. I find it a ease to shred all my confidential matterial. This machine is a must in these days with idendenty theft. It is nice to know all my personal documents remain confidential and not out in the public eye.
