Wow. This shredder is so much quieter than our old Fellowes. It easily shredded a 2 inch stack of papers in just a few minutes. I hope it lasts as long as our old one. We have had it 12 years and its still going strong, we just grew and needed a shredder that could handle more volume. :)

We have a small home business and have more than the average amount of shredding to do. I like the power of the motor but it's not too loud. I also like the window on the bin showing when it's full. My biggest disappointment is the amount of time it can be used before it overheats and has to be turned off to cool down.

This is my third Fellows shredder purchased for our office. My requirements were to find an inexpensive shredder that would cross cut & be quiet in operation and not jam. I love this shredder because it will shut off if it gets too hot and you don't have to worry about burning up your machine. I oil my machine every time I empty the shredded container and this seems to make it work more efficiently. Everyone in the office just loves this machine.

I purchased the Fellow’s Ci79 a couple of weeks ago. By reading other customers comments, so far it has met my needs in my small office. I appreciate the comments that I read they really helped me decide on the maker and type of shredder that I needed. The only drawback is that I have a backlog of shredding to do and once it gets hot I have to stop. I don’t see this as a problem in the future once I catch up.

It's very quiet and does a great job of quickly dispensing our documents. We mostly use if for shredding paper documents and have never had a paper jam. Being a teacher, I am bombarded with tons of letters and paper that I truly do not need piling up and of course mail wth confidential numbers, etc. on them. I love takiing the time to finally go through what I want to get rid of and can just press the button and get rid of the dreadful piles of paper. I have an office in my home now, and the shredder fits compliments the environment. the 2010-2011 school year is going to be organized, clean and run efficiently. I just purchased a new 79Ci as a replacement for my old 64C which lasted about 7 years and was great until the motor finally burned out. Think I used it for too long a time and the indicator went Red and stayed red every time I tried to use if after that. The shredder would go backward for a second but never forward. I guess it finally went. However, when I had it for the approx. 7 years, I used it a lot and it always worked well. Just bought a replacement which is advertised as a little stronger so I am hoping that it will out last my lifetime. Fellows makes a great shredder and I have never been sorry with the performance but after retiring as a CPA I just had too many files and papers to shred over the years.

I had a number of things to shred, from stapled papers to CDs. The POWERSHRED 79Ci has taken care of all of these things efficiently. The advertisement was true to its words about the POWERSHRED 79Ci. I look forward to the long use life of this product.
