Great Shredder

This is the best Shredder I've ever purchased. It is a perfect shredder for home office use. Very Quit while shredding and has a large collection basket. I would not only recommend this Shredder, I would purchase it all over again. This shredder would be a bargain at twice the price!

What a relief!

This shredder was purchased to replace a fairly new non-Fellowes product that was a constant headache to use. I had owned a Fellowes in the past in a different location and remembered how well it had done the job for me. I purchased another one and have not been disappointed. My PS79Ci runs quietly, smoothly and the jam proof feature works well.

A Great Shredder

This is a great shredder if you need a compact one -- and one that moves easily on wheels without tipping -- mine rolls on a tightly woven rug with no problem. The auto paper thickness measurement works well and clearly warns if you've loaded in too much. It's reasonably quiet and can also chew up credit cards and CDRs, though I haven't tried that yet. Nice that it comes with applicator bottle of shredder oil. I never knew these things needed to have the cutters oiled to keep them functioning at top capacity -- that's obviously why my very old Fellows eventually died -- but it makes perfect sense given what these machines do.

Great Purchase

This is the third shredder that we have had in our home, and by far it is the best. I am very impressed with the quiet operation of the unit. It does a Pacmanlike job when it is gobbling up the papers we don't want to share with others. The residue left after shredding is very secure in my opinion. I have shreded up to 5 sheets at one time. The machine handled it well and didn't skip a beat. The unit itself is very lightweight and easy to move around on its rollers. Although I bought this shredder for home use, I believe it would work well in a small business environment.

Very satisfied customer

We bought this shredder to replace a Fellowes shredder that finally died after 10 years of constant use. We look forward to the same good service from this one and are especially delighted that it empties without lifting the heavy shredder off of the paper receptacle (as was true of the old one.)

Most Satisfied

Though I looked at many makes and models, the Fellows PS-79ci Shredder was my first purchase in the shredder market primarily because I was most impressed with the features of this model as well as the price. It is fast, relatively quiet, and very safe to operate, not to mention that it simply looks "ccol" setting next to the desk in my home office. Needless to say, absolutely everyone that sees the PS-79ci is envious. I would certainly recommend this to anyone looking for a quality machine.

home office

Love this shredder. THEY MUST DO A BETTER JOB WITH THE MANUAL. PUTTING ON THE CASTERS WAS A NIGHT MARE. IT TOOK MORE TIME TO DO THAT THAN ASSEMBLE THE ENTIRE SHREDDER.NEVER HAD PLASTIC BAGS BEFORE DO YOU PUT BAGS INTO BIN?? MANUAL DID NOT SAY SO I DID NOT DO IT. PLEASE REWRITE MANUAL. I HAD TO GO ONLINE AND RESEARCH BAGS AND CASTERS. TAKING WAY TO MUCH TIME TO ASSEMBLE.

glad I bought up

After reading the reviews of a shredder I intended to buy, I increased my purchase a little to get this brand. The reviews on the store brand were terrible. I am finding this model very capable for my minimal usage. It is very sturdy for the small price.

Don't waste your time with other shredders

I have been through a series of inexpensive shredders and really should have known better. I am a tax advocate and deal with a substantial quantity of paper. I have finally migrated over to a "paperless" office and as a result all physical documents that have been scanned into our system by law must be destroyed. I kept burning out lesser shredders, finally I happened upon the PS-79Ci. Truth is that it was more than I planned to spend but when I balanced it against burned out shredders it was clear that this would save me money in the long run. This shredder just will not allow you to jam it. The warning system is so good that even I have to pay attention to it. Get your hand too close to the feed slot and the shredder automatically shuts down. It's so quiet that I can run it and have a phone conversation. It is easy to use right out of the box and is very intuitive. The only problems I have found so far, and I guess from my review you can figure I think they're minor, is: (1) the bin could be larger and (2) there should be a better system for installing plastic bags to receive the detritus. Otherwise this is indeed a quality product and one that I think will be serving me for a long time to come.

Finally, One That Works

Purchased about 6 months ago. This shredder is sufficiently well built to tackle all the shredding jobs at my home office. Don't get me wrong, this is not an industrial shredder and you still have to pay attention to the amound of paper fed into the machine, keep it oiled, etc. Given that, it has worked like a champ, and vastly exceeded the performance of less expensive models I have tried. Alas, the old saying is true, you go get what you pay for.
