Great shredder

I was surprised how quiet this shredded real is. I go through stages when I clean out files. So far this just keeps going without a problem the only thing that gets to be annoying is the basket fills quickly and it stops so you have to open it and push the waste down. I do love it and would recommend it to everyone

Love this Shredder

This shredder is really quiet - compared to my old one, it runs beautifully. The gauge on the side is great to let you know if you're trying to stuff too much in it - it kind of gives you the EYE! I do quite a bit of shredding & my time spend is minimal now. The pull out bucket in the front is very convenient & the window lets you know when to dump. Let me just say "Shredding has never been as much Fun"

AGReat Purchase

I am so glad I purchased this shredder because it has solved all my problems when it comes to saving time in shredding important documents that are paper cliiped and stapled. It use to take me an hour to just get rid of the staples and paper clips. Now I don't have to worry about that. I also love the fact that it shreds CDs and credit cards with no hassles.

Sweet Machine

I have purchase several shredders over the last 20 years. Most were inexpensive models that fit over a trash can. I burned most of them out after attempting to shred years of accumulated files. I realize the importance of data security and I decided to buy a new shredder. This model is great! It does exactly what it says it will do. I work on sensitive client files. I destroy draft reports immediately now instead of creating a shred pile in a box. The unit is fast and very quiet. I can almost get away with using it at night!

Great Shredder

This is by far the best shredder i have used. It takes the paper staples included and does a great job if it cannot handle what you give it it stops and you just make the necessary adjustments. When the basket is full it lets you know so there's no mess. Excellent machine perfect for medium sized jobs.

Worth Every Cent

In the past two years I've gone through three shredders. During this period of time, I've spent an inordinate amount of my time dissecting the jammed paper out of the blades, only to have to do it again after only a few uses. The blades on these other shredders would bend and break and the motor would lock up and start emitting smoke. There was no adequate customer service or warranty. Essentially, the performance of these other shredders was poor from the beginning and the equipment was disposable. Not so with my Fellowes Shredder! Although I spent slightly more than the individual cost of those other brands, I am confident, even after only a couple of weeks of use, that it will be worth every cent. In the event that something does go wrong, there's a two year warranty. I've already received great customer service just as a follow up for registering the product. As I was unpacking the box, it was obvious that the quality of the Fellowes shredder exceeded the other products. It weighed about three times as much. However, due to the casters, it is actually easier to move than the ones that weigh less. There's practically no way to get injured on the blades because of the safety features. My mother visited over the weekend and she tried out the shredder because, like me, she's had such poor experiences with other products. She was also favorably impressed and is anxious to purchase one of her own! My only regret is that I didn't purchase one sooner. I wasted a lot of time trying to clean/fix those other products as well as money. I fully expect this Fellowes shredder to last more than two years. But even if it doesn't, I will be pleased with the performance.

Great Shredder

I had been wanting to get a new shredder and finally purchased one before the end of the year. My old shredder cut in long strips and I was worried someone would be able to put documents back together. With my new shredder I don't have to worry anymore!

Purchased the PS-79Ci to rplace an older model that overheated too often. This new machine seems to run forever B4 overheating. My older machine was a strip cut and this new model reduces the paper to a much smaller size and is easier to bag. So far, Great Machine! My only complaint is the size of the waste container and the height of the shredder. Make it taller!

Shreds like a champ, but...

Excellent shredder, but: (1) inserting documents automactically starts motor but does not grab and start to shred until you manually push paper further in..sort of defeats well-designed safety methods.... (2) messy cleanup - bag tabs are relatively sharp and tear plastic bags very easily.

Powershred 79CI

Purchased a Powershred PS14CI a number of years ago and after probably a ton of paper the unit finally gave out. Moved out of state and after getting set up purchased the Powershred 79CI. I believe that this is a new and improved version of my previous shredder. Quite operation, pull out collection bin, handles up to 16 pages at a time and shred size is roughly 5/32" x 1.5" of crosscut paper. Can't praise this item enough.
