I wanted a jam proof shredder for low volume work at home and the Fellowes PS-79Ci fills the bill nicely. It is very quiet, handles 10 sheets of paper, credit cards, and CD/DVD with ease. If anything jams, simply press the right side of the outer ring surrounding the power button and the motor will manually shred whatever is left in the shredder input. A great purchase for those looking for a jam proof shredder with low noise, safety features that shut off the shredder if fingers get too close to the shredder along with a compact size.

Because is not a micro-shredder, the volume produced when shredding is huge. But capacity of bin is too small, so you end up having to hand-compact the shredded product and to empty the bin too often. And emptying the bin is very messy, so prepare to vacuum and clean after. If you have very little to shred, it can be ok, otherwise, don't buy it. I regret being convinced by sales person that it is a great shredder, and regret and hate not being able to return it because did not used it within the 15 days allowed

Every Job I have ever been involved in where paper shredders are used, there has been a Fellowes there. Never seem to ever have a problem with them. I think that because of my exposure to the Fellowes name they are probably the best and most ecconomical shredder on the market. The safety with these things is incredible. Never hope or plan on using another personal type shredder

Hands down the best shredder I've ever owned. The last one broke on me within a week. I had two large trash bags of personal information that I need to get rid of and the 79Ci went through it all in a few hours without a hitch! Only thing I really wish it had would have been an auto feeder but really was a value.

We've bought many shredders and thought we could get one that would satisfy a home owners need. Some of the units were limited in numbers of sheets you could shred; some didn't shred well and one, that was moderately priced, jambed so badly it would work. This Fellow PS 79ci unit turned out to be a dream. It handled many sheets, was extremely safe, resisted jambs and had a plus of being extremely quite. It's worth every penny!

After running through a number of cheap shredders, I decided that enough was enough and splurged on a good one. Based on the reviews online, I chose this one. I'm really glad I did. This shredder is durable, fast, powerful and quiet. It shreds any paper I put into it, and easily chewed up my old credit cards, too! Great job, Fellowes!

I had to write a review to let others know my experience with Shredders. Between 2009 and early 2010 I have gone through 4 shredders before the Fellowes Shredder, my last one only lasted about 4 months. I was beginning to think shredders and me dont get along, I am always shredding stuff. I have to point out I have two small children and they are always into whatever I am doing and i am amazed at their Safe Sense feature, as soon as my little ones hands touch the opening it auto stops and proceeds shredding once no hands are touching. I also like the fact that, i can put quite a load of papers in the opening and the Shredder senses the thickness and adjusts and pushes papers through on its own. This is the Greatest Shredder ever. I have only had it a few weeks now, but I have done a ton of shredding these last couple of weeks especially since it is tax season I was getting rid of alot of documents not needed. I recommended this shredder and brand to all my family members and friends. Oh, I almost forgot I love the fact that it comes with its own trash bag, now when its full (which it also tells you) I pull bag out and throw away I dont have to haul the basket over to the garbage to throw shredded paper away. Also, I like that it comes with a lubricant to keep shedder in perfect conditioning. Oh, and when they say quiet it really is quiet, I have heard of other shredders claiming to be quiet and always woke my baby up if they were napping around/near shredder, but this one I could literally shred papers with them sleeping next to machine and it is absolutely quiet, if you purchase this shredder know that you are getting a high grade office/business quality shredder that you can now have at home at a decent cost.

I really like my shredder, it is very quite and once it has shredded the paper it stops running. Most shredders run for another 3 to 4 seconds after the paper has shredded and some times this is very annoying. The one thing I do noit care for is the basket that you dump. You have to push the basket in very firmly, and I mean very firmly. Also you you dump the paper it leaves a lot of paper that is coming down from the shredder and even with the basket having a trash liner it still has a lot of residue paper and you have to get a dust pan to clean up the mess.

Our school purchased this shredder for our front office use. We love everything about it. It is quiet, we can roll it around the office, shredds very fast. It is a perfect fit. Will definately purchase another Fellowes shredder in the future for other offices.

Bought a PS-79Ci for it's cd destruction option. Machine is doing a fine job so far. Would like it better if it had a longer continuous run operation, but it is getting the job done. Also, like front disposal and that the shredder head doesnot have to be removed to empty unit.
