I just purchased a PS-79Ci. The display model had the protruding plastic that would rip a collection bag. Do to the great reviews I decided to buy it anyway. When I got home and pulled out the receptacle. to my surprise, there was no protruding plastic to tear a plastic bag. I also read the review that claimed, the unit would not shred a thick envelope. So I tried it. It did not work well. Then I reversed the envelope out and looked inside. In my case, the envelope contained: The original envelope, a return envelope, 2 tri-folded letters and 4 single sheet envelope sized ads. If you count an envelope as 2 sheets of paper this thick envelope contained, really 14 sheets of paper. Keep in mind a tri-folded letter would count as 3. This was a pretty thick envelope. It barley fit inside the feeder. Thick envelopes is not the reason I am purchasing this unit. I generally open the envelope and shred the portion(s) that someone might sign your name to and send back to to accept the company's offer. Hope this helps with your decision. Keep in mind that there are probably some old model shredders out there with protruding plastic. You may want to check before buying if possible. Yes, I am very happy with this shredder and it is very quiet. HAPPY SHREDDING EVERYONE!

Our Daughter came home from 5 years in South Korea where she was teaching . She had a box of papers that needed to be shredded and our ould shreder had just stopped working right before she came home We needed a new shredder right away and found the fellows PS 79 C For seveal days we shredded Other then when the bin was full and having to clean off the shredder part this shredder has been a work horse So far we are pleased with it

We just purchased this shredder with the purpose of shredding about 16 yrs. worth of worthless documents. It did a super job. It's quiet and is jam free as claimed. You do have to let it rest a little every 15 mins. of continuous use or it will shut down(added feature). We love it and will recommend it to our friends and family.

Bought the 79Ci shredder to replace a smaller competitor's model. Many of the items we should probably have shredded in the past weren't because it would have been too time-consuming and ineffective. First impressions are good; quiet and powerful, easy to assemble and operate, looks good, and safety and anti-jam features are as advertised.

This shredder is excellent! It is quiet, yet powerful, and does its job! Whether I am shredding one piece of paper, or 10, the PS-79Ci makes my day! And it fits very nicely under my desk where I can wheel it out when needed, and push it under when I don't! This shredder is a class act!

In the past two years I've gone through three shredders. During this period of time, I've spent an inordinate amount of my time dissecting the jammed paper out of the blades, only to have to do it again after only a few uses. The blades on these other shredders would bend and break and the motor would lock up and start emitting smoke. There was no adequate customer service or warranty. Essentially, the performance of these other shredders was poor from the beginning and the equipment was disposable. Not so with my Fellowes Shredder! Although I spent slightly more than the individual cost of those other brands, I am confident, even after only a couple of weeks of use, that it will be worth every cent. In the event that something does go wrong, there's a two year warranty. I've already received great customer service just as a follow up for registering the product. As I was unpacking the box, it was obvious that the quality of the Fellowes shredder exceeded the other products. It weighed about three times as much. However, due to the casters, it is actually easier to move than the ones that weigh less. There's practically no way to get injured on the blades because of the safety features. My mother visited over the weekend and she tried out the shredder because, like me, she's had such poor experiences with other products. She was also favorably impressed and is anxious to purchase one of her own! My only regret is that I didn't purchase one sooner. I wasted a lot of time trying to clean/fix those other products as well as money. I fully expect this Fellowes shredder to last more than two years. But even if it doesn't, I will be pleased with the performance.

We recently replaced our old, hand-me down shredder with our new Fellowes model! Talk about a change. We sat and watched it shred up papers, tested it for how many sheets it could take, even shredded some cardboard. It's terrific and has made such a difference, already, in how we can manage our office paperwork. We deal in human services so much of our paper contains confidential information. We cannot just throw it into recycling. The old shredder sometimes didn't even cut the strips completely through, so there were piles on the desk of paper that should be shredded before disposal. NOw our desks are neat and our confidentiality is intact! Thank you.

I purchased the Fellow’s Ci79 a couple of weeks ago. By reading other customers comments, so far it has met my needs in my small office. I appreciate the comments that I read they really helped me decide on the maker and type of shredder that I needed. The only drawback is that I have a backlog of shredding to do and once it gets hot I have to stop. I don’t see this as a problem in the future once I catch up.

I HAVE OWNED A FEW OTHER SHREDDERS AND THEY HAVE BEEN THE MOST AGGRIVATING TO USE. I HAVE THROWN THEM AWAY AND PURCHESED A NEW ONE, LOOKING FOR A BETTER WORKING MACHINE. I HAVE FOUND IT. THIS ONE DOES A GREAT JOB. NEVER JAMS, RUNS QUIET. I AM SURE I WILL NOT REGRET THIS PURCHASE.

I'VE HAD MANY SHREDDERS DURING THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS AND THIS ONE HAS, SO FAR, BEEN THE BEST! I NEVER INTENDED ON USING THE BAGS THAT CAME WITH IT AND FROM I'VE SEEN ON OTHER REVIEWS, THE BAGS DON'T WORK VERY WELL ANYWAYS! IT SHREDS MANY PAPERS QUIETLY AND I'VE NEVER HAD IT JAM UP! ALTHOUGH IT SHREDS NEWSPAPERS VERY WELL, IT TENDS TO BUILD UP THE SHREDDINGS JUST BELOW THE CUTTERS! I HAVE TO PULL THE BIN OUT AND REMOVE THE BUILT UP NEWSPAPER FROM THE CUTTERS! IT STILL HAS NEVER JAMMED EVEN AT THAT POINT! AS FAR AS PRINTER OR OFFICE PAPER IS CONCERNED, THIS SHREDDER IS ONE OF, IF NOT, THE BEST! OVERALL, I'M VERY SATISFIED!
