Better handle, which helps give a smoother and more gentle shave on my very sensative skin. I have never owned a razor with more durability which gives so many shaves. I've used this razor many times so far and with no nicks and it's still ticking. I highly recommend the Gillette fusion proglide razor. I have not had to get any refills yet, so I do not know the expense of them.#GotItFree

I like the shave on the straight areas, it seemed to cut well without nicks or abrasions, but didn't seem to cut contoured areas as well. It seemed, maybe duller than I would like and I had to go over those areas multiple times.

It follows your face in a very natural way, giving me the best shave I have gotten from a disposal razor. It's very easy to pop off the used razor head and replace it. Love it.

I am now thinking of buying my husband one. I never knew that razors would have such a difference in shaving, but this one has proved it to me.

I have used straight razors in the past but have been an electric shaver user for years. I have recently received a Fusion Proglide straight razor from Gillette to try out and was totally amazed with the shave I experienced with it. First of all, this razor is light to the feel and when shaving I can hardly tell I have anything against my skin. The shave it gave me was very smooth and complete. I didn't have to worry about nicks or cuts on my skin. Overall, after my first straight razor shave in years, I was totally impressed. Nice job Gillette on this product!

The first thing I notice was the solid feel in my hand.This razor has some heft to it. Next was that the head of the razor pivots from side to side and back and forth. Now how does it shave? Excellent!!!! This razor gives a very close shave. The Fusion ProGlide with FlexBall is my new razor. #ThanksGillette

I am really enjoying my new Fusion Pro Glide razor. I've never had a smoother and closer shave with any razor. It makes me want to shave everyday, when before I shaved once a week. It's so smooth and comfortable, I can move it all over my face like a racecar making figure 8's. It leaves my skin feeling smooth and clear.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow, what a smooth shave! I've always laughed at the increasing number of blades in razors. This coming from someone who has been using his 2-bladed Gillette Excel since he can remember. The Excel has always provided a clean, close shave but with the downside of raw, reddish, irritated skin. It was a consequence I accepted as just part of shaving. Now, I'm eating my crow, with relish! The Gillette Fusion ProGlide with its 5 blades cuts cleanly and smoothly, whether I went with the grain or against (I usually do with first, then against on a second pass--everyone says go with but how can you get a close shave that way?). I felt no nicks, pulls, or cuts, and my face never felt raw. Applying Nivea After Shave Balm post shave, I did not feel any burn like I normally do. It's a good indication to me that my skin wasn't raked raw. I also compared the ProGlide razor to my Norelco Coolskin 7775X electric shavor. I put in the new HQ8 replacement blades since the original HQ177 blades are no longer available. I found the HQ8 blades to be better than the HQ177: smoother and closer in my opinion. Many reviewers contend otherwise (I shave in the shower so perhaps others have different results because of different circumstances). I love my Norelco because it provides a smooth, close shave without irritation. But it takes time and a good number of passes to achieve the results. So in comparison to the Norelco, the ProGlide was equally smooth and close without the multiple passes and extra time. The smooth shave really won me over but there were other great features about the ProGlide razor. The articulating razor head was excellent at pivoting itself around cheek bones and jaw lines. As a result, the razor stayed glued to my skin for a close shave. Weight and grip of the razor felt solid and good, not plasticky or cheap. Love the dark chrome and metal feel. I haven't come to any conclusions on the FlexBall yet. I shaved without a mirror and didn't notice whether the FlexBall pivoted side to side as it was intended to. Perhaps it did to help navigate the contours of my face or perhaps it didn't and is just a marketing gimmick. I'll have to shave again, this time in front of a mirror to judge properly. The ProGlide razor isn't perfect and here is its one flaw: the razor head is big. How can it not be with 5 blades? Gillette did a fantastic job of keeping the blades thin, thinner than the Excel blades, but they do still command a bit of real estate. They are also slightly wider than the Excel. So all of this translates to some difficulty shaving hair at and around the upper lip. I could only shave with the grain here and very carefully at that. The razor just felt a little tall for that small region. I also had slight difficulty under the jaw where the skin dips. Again, because the razor head is relatively large and not easily maneuvered there. I can see myself improving my technique with practice so this isn't a major issue, just an issue for my first time out. I normally shave once a week, even with the Norelco. My skin usually requires a break before the next shave and shaving short stubble after a few days usually results in pain. But I am optimistic enough with the ProGlide experience that I will try shaving more frequently. If I am able to shave more often, then I can be content with a close enough shave rather than needing that super close shave. In fact, I would prefer to shave more often just so I don't look so scruffy by the week's end. Here's hoping...

I received the "Gillette Fusion Proglide Razor with Flexball Handle Technology" in the mail about a week ago, and I was instantly skeptical. For the past few years I have been using the Gillette Fusion Power, to shave both my head, and my face. Even though I was also skeptical of THAT razor when it came out, the power/vibrating aspect seemed to keep my from getting nicks and cuts all over my head. For those of you who have never shaved your head, once you get those little nicks and cuts all over your scalp, moments later you need to throw some after shave on there, and it feels like wearing a speedo cap made out of africanized killer bees. When I started shaving my head 17 years ago, I was using the Shick Tracer, which was ousted by the Gillette Mach III, which was ousted by the Gillette Fusion Power. In between I have tried the headblade and a few others, (even tried to "Nair" my head in an unfortunate incident) but since the Mach III came out, Gillette razors have done the best job. I first used this razor after kickboxing before work. Little did I know, the clock in the gym was off by 20 minutes, and when I entered the locker room and checked my phone I was running 20 minutes behind. I was already concerned about hacking up my head with this thing, and now I was doing it immediately after sweating for an hour with no cooldown, and running late AND I would have to do it quickly. My head was sure to look like some disgusting slide from 10th grade health class when all was said and done. I dragged this razor over my scalp with RECKLESS ABANDON, shaving off 5 days of growth on my head. At first I thought it wasn't working because I couldn't feel anything, but after checking the mirror, all I saw in those spots was skin. The hair was gone. This was easily the most comfortable shave I've ever had. Not one nick. Shaving my head is usually a 5-8 minute process and I did this one in 2 minutes, with shaky hands from the heavy bags, and it was awesome. I don't know about the price or anything, or to be honest if it has even been released yet in stores, but I refuse to use anything else from here on out. This was close, comfortable, and I was able to do it way faster. I'd recommend this to anyone, especially my brothers in baldness.

The Gillette Fusion ProGlide Manual cartridge offers a very close shave. I need a close shave to allow my safety equipment to seal correctly on my face at work. This blade allows me to not worry about a strong seal even after 9 hours after shaving. Its the best cartridge that I have purchased.
