[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I decided to try the Gillette Fusion Proglide Razor with the Flexball for the first time. It was amazing that how smooth of the shave it was. It contoured to my face and even got hard to shave places that I could not get with a manual razor. I am really impressed. I am going to recommend this to anyone who need the best shave of their life.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The new Gillette Fusion ProGlide razor is innovative, that's for sure. With the new "ball" technology (maybe they took a page out of Dyson's play book), this razor is like nothing else on the market. The blades are sharp, and stay sharp. I averaged about a week before changing cartridges, but this razor may not be for everyone. My skin is sensitive, really sensitive. Shaving can be a pain sometimes and not using the right tools can be torture. The new ProGlide razor is the smoothest shave I have had from Gillette but it is too close for my comfort. I noticed that I have to shave every other day with the razor to avoid razor bumps and ingrown hairs, especially when shaving against the grain. When I first used this product I was amazed, but come 5 o'clock I was itching and praying I could find some lotion fast. I found in my experience that shaving with the grain is the best way to go. As always with shaving shaving, going with the grain yields your most comfortable shave. Maybe it's just my skin but the shave was best going with the grain (not is smooth, but the most comfortable), and against the grain was brutal after a couple days. This is a good razor, one of the best cartridge razors on the market. If looks and innovation are your thing, this razor is for you. If your skin can handle a super close shave, this is right for you. If you are like me who's skin needs extra love and care, use this razor with caution and moisturize thoroughly.

This is the worst blade I have ever used in over 50years of shaving. I shave every day & this was like using a broken piece of glass. I bought a 12pack thinking they were better than the GILLETTE FUSION. I'm going back to the FUSION. Sorry for the bad review, just my opinion.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received my Gillette® Fusion ProGlide Razor & 2-in-1 Shave Gel in the mail. I have been using shaving gels since the sixties. Then it wasn't quite as good as what we have now. I love the way that the Gillette® 2-in-1 Shave Gel works. I have a really tough beard. The Gillette® 2-in-1 Shave Gel really foams up, softens my whiskers and provides me with a smooth and comfortable shave. I will certainly recommend this and the razor to my friends.

I had been thinking of trying a new razor for a while, even considering an electric razor. I usually shave once a week, and have for years. I got the razor through a trial program through Gillette. I thought this would be a good time to try a different product, as I was changing my shaving routine to something a little more frequent than before... The razor was designed for sensitive skin, which is right up my alley. Being African-American, I have always worried about skin burns and razor bumps. The first week in I shaved three times, being every other day with NO problems whatsoever ! I use a shaving cream, and other than this razor being different than what I use, there was NO change in my routine. The shave is close, and comfortable. I didn't have to think about the blades, just shaving. I also wear a goatee, and the single blade in the rear of the razor gave me a nice line on each side. Best part of a good shave is my girl of 8 years complimenting me on it the next day after the first use of the PROGLIDE. I have known the Proglide was out there, just stuck in my grooming habits as most people are. Over the holiday weekend I bought ANOTHER Proglide with the multi-razor pack. VERY happy with this razor. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Being an avid user of the Fusion in the first place I was excited to try the FlexBall technology. Then it came. excitedly I opened my new razor and ran off to shower ready to shave. Well using this for the first time was awkward to say the least and I did not achieve the shave I expected. This however was not the razors fault but mine. Being used to fixed handled razors I moved way to much like I always did but I did not give up. Instead I tried again and came to find this razor is very comfortable and gives a very close shave. It does take some getting used to but once you figure it out and realize exactly what the ball is for, the only way I see to make this better is to add a battery and the vibration of the Fusion.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow, what a smooth shave! I've always laughed at the increasing number of blades in razors. This coming from someone who has been using his 2-bladed Gillette Excel since he can remember. The Excel has always provided a clean, close shave but with the downside of raw, reddish, irritated skin. It was a consequence I accepted as just part of shaving. Now, I'm eating my crow, with relish! The Gillette Fusion ProGlide with its 5 blades cuts cleanly and smoothly, whether I went with the grain or against (I usually do with first, then against on a second pass--everyone says go with but how can you get a close shave that way?). I felt no nicks, pulls, or cuts, and my face never felt raw. Applying Nivea After Shave Balm post shave, I did not feel any burn like I normally do. It's a good indication to me that my skin wasn't raked raw. I also compared the ProGlide razor to my Norelco Coolskin 7775X electric shavor. I put in the new HQ8 replacement blades since the original HQ177 blades are no longer available. I found the HQ8 blades to be better than the HQ177: smoother and closer in my opinion. Many reviewers contend otherwise (I shave in the shower so perhaps others have different results because of different circumstances). I love my Norelco because it provides a smooth, close shave without irritation. But it takes time and a good number of passes to achieve the results. So in comparison to the Norelco, the ProGlide was equally smooth and close without the multiple passes and extra time. The smooth shave really won me over but there were other great features about the ProGlide razor. The articulating razor head was excellent at pivoting itself around cheek bones and jaw lines. As a result, the razor stayed glued to my skin for a close shave. Weight and grip of the razor felt solid and good, not plasticky or cheap. Love the dark chrome and metal feel. I haven't come to any conclusions on the FlexBall yet. I shaved without a mirror and didn't notice whether the FlexBall pivoted side to side as it was intended to. Perhaps it did to help navigate the contours of my face or perhaps it didn't and is just a marketing gimmick. I'll have to shave again, this time in front of a mirror to judge properly. The ProGlide razor isn't perfect and here is its one flaw: the razor head is big. How can it not be with 5 blades? Gillette did a fantastic job of keeping the blades thin, thinner than the Excel blades, but they do still command a bit of real estate. They are also slightly wider than the Excel. So all of this translates to some difficulty shaving hair at and around the upper lip. I could only shave with the grain here and very carefully at that. The razor just felt a little tall for that small region. I also had slight difficulty under the jaw where the skin dips. Again, because the razor head is relatively large and not easily maneuvered there. I can see myself improving my technique with practice so this isn't a major issue, just an issue for my first time out. I normally shave once a week, even with the Norelco. My skin usually requires a break before the next shave and shaving short stubble after a few days usually results in pain. But I am optimistic enough with the ProGlide experience that I will try shaving more frequently. If I am able to shave more often, then I can be content with a close enough shave rather than needing that super close shave. In fact, I would prefer to shave more often just so I don't look so scruffy by the week's end. Here's hoping...

I am an avid Gillette Fusion ProGlide user and didn't think they could make a getter razor. But they did. The swivel motion of the razor give me an even better shave and is incredibly smooth. I have the battery operated Fusion razor at home and this one is packed in my travel bag.

It usually takes me about 10-15 minutes to shave because I have to go back and get areas I missed. With this razor, I don't miss anything. The five blades keep my skin smooth even after I grow some decent stubble. Taking the blade off to change blades is not difficult either. This is a great razor to work with.
