Super tough and all the data you would ever want

I have had this watch for more than a year now and have not been nice to it at all, yet it doesn't have any scratches or knocks or anything. The battery life is incredible, I can do a triathlon and not charge it for an another week and will still have battery left. If you aren't sure about this watch, stop thinking about it and go get it. It takes some serious abuse and has data on everything.

AmazIng watch

I went from a Fenix 3hr to a Epix gen2. Huge upgrade! I really liked my wife's Apple watch due to the display but needed a true fitness tracking device with the sports I do. The Epix gen2 is exactly that. The touch screen is great. I love viewing the vivid display as I run or bike. GPS activities seem very accurate. I thought about buying the Fenix 7 but I personally have no need for the solar charger.

My new every day watch!

I love the features of this watch. Easy to navigate. Set most features using Garmin connect on my iPhone. Many days without recharging. Handy flashlight utility. Useful features including health and sleep scores, stocks, weather, sunrise/sunset. The list goes on and on. Very good golf app. Configure night mode so that alerts and bright dial stay dim and silent. AMOLED display is great but in direct sunlight shading the dial may be required.

Great watch with amazing features

I have owned my Epix for approximately 3 weeks. I enjoy having the ability to track sleep, workouts, heart rate, altitude, maps, and weather. One caveat though, is that before the update I was able to see weather on my watch without my phone being on. Now weather doesn't display unless my phone is on and the connect app running. What happens if you are in a deep woods mountain hike with no cell service? We'll just pray you don't get trapped by inclement weather. That is my biggest complaint and concern. I believe the weather should update a few times a day and have all the data for the day. Weather should work offline like the maps.

Excelent display, with Fenix Features

I'm so happy with this wristwatch I though I was going to regret no buying a fenix 7, but I was surprised when the seller explain me there was just a couple of differences on battery time due to the Emoled screen technology which makes it fenomenol to look without taking the other features

Make the switch from Apple!

This watch is AMAZING! I wanted to wait to post anything until I've had it for at least a couple weeks. The data that is able to be tracked and utilized is incredible. I've had an Apple Watch for the last 5 years and kept going back and forth between the new Ultra and the Epix - but I'm so happy I picked Epix. 6 day battery life is a game changer. The sleep metrics, body battery, and training readiness are HUGE for analyzing your recovery in between lifts and runs. Cant wait to hit the ski trails with the built in maps and use it for hiking trips next year! The size can look intimidating (especially for someone like me with small wrists) but it is super lightweight to the point I forget it's there. Also, the screen display is gorgeous. Seriously, if you're stuck between any other fitness watch and this watch, and care mostly about the activity platform, data, and tracking - make the switch. I was hesitant to see if I would miss my Apple Watch and the bells and whistles (texting from it, answering calls, surfing apps) but I don't at all. I actually like the fact that Garmin separates itself in that way with the main focus being adventure. Love love love this thing!

A Leap forward

The new AMOLED screen + the killing features of the Fenix 7 makes this watch such a leap forward. The screen is beautiful, and the responsiveness is great, like an Apple Watch. I'm experiencing a three day battery life under heavy use, so I'm incredibly happy with the battery performance. GPS accuracy is insanely good.

Stunning screen, comprehensive features

I have been training with the epix for about a month now, upgrading from a forerunner 645M. My motivation was primarily for extended battery life for single gps activities, and I struggled to make a decision between the fenix 7 and epix. I decided that the epix offered more than plenty battery, and the higher screen resolution would benefit maps (which was a feature I didn't have before but was very much interested in). I am not disappointed, I love the screen, and am enjoying the huge feature set. Some features, and activities, I will never use, and some are of limited use to me, but it's reassuring that this expensive watch should cover all my needs and more for years to come. The GPS is great, I rarely had issues with my 645, but the tracks on the epix are spot on in the open, in the city the tracks still struggle a little but are vastly improved. The only negative is the size, it's bigger than I'm used to, and the Fenix 7s would probably have worked for me, but with the loss of screen resolution - but I have no regrets with chosing the epix, and will probably get used to the larger watch (just like the 645)

Great looking watch

But unfortunately because I have full sleeves (tattoos) the sensors didn't work .. it went back. The screen was amazing though, the capabilities sound great although I didn't get to try them. I ended up settling for the venu just for he screen … anyhow, great looking watch with many capabilities.. just wish Someone could develop an optical sensor that would work on people with tats .. u til that day happens… basic metrics for me

Hardware Great, Software Horrible

Having now owned my Epix 2nd Generation Standard Edition for about 2 months, I can say the watch itself, is amazing, however the operating system and related apps and software are the worst. Not intuitive at all. It's taken at least a month, many hours of tech help on the phone, YouTube videos, Google searches just to feel somewhat comfortable navigating the watch. I know a few people who got rid of their Garmin watch because it wad so difficult to navigate. The OS itself, takes up over one half of my watches memory. Then, if you want a map, the smallest map you can download is the entire United States. That alone uses up almost the rest of the memory, leaving no room for anything else. It's as if the folks developeing the apps don't actually do any of those activities.
