Having now owned my Epix 2nd Generation Standard Edition for about 2 months, I can say the watch itself, is amazing, however the operating system and related apps and software are the worst. Not intuitive at all. It's taken at least a month, many hours of tech help on the phone, YouTube videos, Google searches just to feel somewhat comfortable navigating the watch. I know a few people who got rid of their Garmin watch because it wad so difficult to navigate. The OS itself, takes up over one half of my watches memory. Then, if you want a map, the smallest map you can download is the entire United States. That alone uses up almost the rest of the memory, leaving no room for anything else. It's as if the folks developeing the apps don't actually do any of those activities.

I've owned the Fenix 5, the Fenix 6x Sapphire and now the epic Gen 2. I love all Garmin products. But I have to admit the epic Gen 2 is the best so far. I love the battery life which is equivalent to my 6x sapphire with always on display. If I turn off the always on display, I'm getting 11 days of battery life with training three times a week. The only issue that happens is the weather app from the factory widget works only 50% of the time. I've recycled the phone and the watch on numerous times to try to fix this and it's still an issue. Hopefully with the next software update they'll fix it.

I started with the Fenix 5x next went to Fenix 6x pro now to the Epix GEN 2. The only thing that bothered me on my previous models was the screen all all three watches work flawlessly never a hiccup but I am so happy to see this updated scream it's so vivid in alive makes me very happy also the 47 mm Epix fits my wrist just a little better so that also makes me happy I don't feel like I'm wearing a weight when I'm at work I'd like to wear my watch 24 hours a day for the metrics any Epix has been seamless

This watch is AMAZING! I wanted to wait to post anything until I've had it for at least a couple weeks. The data that is able to be tracked and utilized is incredible. I've had an Apple Watch for the last 5 years and kept going back and forth between the new Ultra and the Epix - but I'm so happy I picked Epix. 6 day battery life is a game changer. The sleep metrics, body battery, and training readiness are HUGE for analyzing your recovery in between lifts and runs. Cant wait to hit the ski trails with the built in maps and use it for hiking trips next year! The size can look intimidating (especially for someone like me with small wrists) but it is super lightweight to the point I forget it's there. Also, the screen display is gorgeous. Seriously, if you're stuck between any other fitness watch and this watch, and care mostly about the activity platform, data, and tracking - make the switch. I was hesitant to see if I would miss my Apple Watch and the bells and whistles (texting from it, answering calls, surfing apps) but I don't at all. I actually like the fact that Garmin separates itself in that way with the main focus being adventure. Love love love this thing!

I use this watch to track all the activity stats for running, biking, cycling and backcountry hiking. It certainly give the user the best GPS location tracking but it also captures and displays heart rate and heart rate zone, blood pressure, speed, pace, distance, elevation, location and many more. It also tracks your daily life like sleep, steps, body battery, and wraps this up in a fitness age. Lastly, the 64,000 colors give a clear and easy to read data screens and map displays to include top maps.

While my trusty Garmin Fenix 5x Plus has been a great workhorse with no issues of hard use over 5 years, I wanted to get something a bit lighter and with an improved display. Out of the box, the Epix 2 performs very well with easy-to-read display and very familiar functionality. Software app uploads are faster. Battery life exceptional and fit. And finish spot on. Not one complaint.

The features on this smartwatch are first rate. The AMOLED display is very easy to read compared to the MIP display on the Fenix models. There is a small tradeoff in battery life with the new display. If you do not mind charging more frequently, the AMOLED display with its higher resolution, expansive color palette and brightness is well worth it. The unit has essentially the same functionality as the new Fenix models and the same UI. I really wish that this series came in a 51mm version. I have used a Fenix 6X Pro for several months and am very partial to the larger face. I ultimately returned the Epix and will stay with my 6X Pro until Garmin decides to offer a 51mm version. Come on Garmin-You can do it!

I was using the Fenix 6 prior to this watch. I bought the Epix so that I could pass my Fenix to my husband. I was pleasantly surprised by the update screen which make is easier to read. I can use the watch for my workouts, such as HIIT, Strength Training, trail runs, and speed workouts. The features upgrade from the Fenix make this watch feel like a major upgrade.

I love this watch because it has a beautiful screen that is particularly useful when using its built-in maps, which have impressive detail. I previously had a Fenix 6, and this watch feels considerably lighter and is also far more useful with the added touch screen. The battery does not take a significant hit from the high-quality screen, as the watch can still handle 16 hour scrambles in the mountains with almost 50% battery to spare.
