Best Watch Ever

I bought the Epix when it came out a month ago to replace my FR945. I am very pleased with the watch- the display is bright, easy to read, and great colors. The battery life has been as advertised with a bit over 6 days in always-on mode and about an hour of GPS activities a day. It does everything my FR945 did and more plus a WAY better display. It's a great watch.

Upgraded from a Forerunner 645

I wasn't too sure about upgrading to an Amoled screen due to having an apple watch before which i couldn't read much in sunlight. I love how the screen looks outdoor with the forerunner line but i got to tell you, the Epix 2 screen looks even better than that.. I mean compared it next to each other in direct sunlight and the Epix blows the forerunner outa the water. It's a bit on the heavy side but you get used to it after a few days. I didn't think i was going to keep it but i absolutely love love love this watch.

It does everything I want!

I purchased this watch to upgrade my Garmin Forerunner 955 solar as I wanted the maps for hiking and backpacking. I read and watched a lot of reviews before making my decision. I was worried about the battery life on the epix (Gen 2) but I didn't need to worry. I don't use always on display and I can, at times, easily get 10 days of battery life. This includes following a course and using gps as well as recording workouts almost daily. When I'm out on backpacking trips I might need to bring my charger but with the added benefit of maps I don't mind. Really happy with my decision to get this watch.

A Comprehensive Review After Switching from Apple

Garmin Epix: After a year of using the Apple Watch Ultra, I made the leap to the Garmin Epix, and it's been an enlightening transition. The Garmin Epix isn't just another smartwatch; it's a health and fitness companion that has significantly exceeded my expectations. Here's why this watch has become an indispensable part of my daily life. Seamless Integration for Comprehensive Health Insights One of the standout features of the Garmin Epix is its exceptional ability to analyze health data. Unlike any other smartwatch I've used, it provides clear and actionable insights, guiding me towards a healthier lifestyle. Its compatibility with other Garmin devices, like the Garmin Scale and the Garmin Blood Pressure Monitor, means all my health metrics are consolidated in one place. This interconnected ecosystem offers convenience and a holistic view of my health that I've not experienced with other brands. Battery Life and Usability Battery life is another area where the Garmin Epix shines. Transitioning from a watch that needed daily charging to one that lasts days is a game-changer, especially for someone with an active lifestyle. Furthermore, the design of the Epix, with its five-button control scheme, makes it incredibly user-friendly, even when I'm wearing gloves during my runs. This ease of use does not go unnoticed and is something I highly appreciate. The Body Battery Feature The Body Battery feature is a revelation. It provides a daily energy snapshot, rating from 1 to 100, based on sleep quality, stress levels, and daily activity. This single number gives me a quick understanding of my day and helps me adjust my activities and rest accordingly. It's a feature that truly distinguishes the Epix from its competitors by offering a tangible metric to gauge daily wellness. Limitations with iOS It's not all perfect, though. For iPhone users, the inability to reply to messages or answer calls directly from the watch can be a drawback. These limitations, imposed by Apple, mean that the Epix doesn't offer a fully integrated experience for iOS users. However, this is a small concession in the grand scheme of things, given the multitude of features and benefits the Epix provides. Conclusion In summary, the Garmin Epix is not just a smartwatch; it's a comprehensive health and fitness tool. Its strengths in health data analysis, device integration, battery life, and usability make it an exceptional choice for anyone looking to enhance their health and fitness journey. Whether you're an avid hiker in need of reliable maps, a fitness enthusiast seeking detailed health insights, or simply someone who appreciates a long-lasting battery, the Garmin Epix delivers on all fronts. If you're in the market for a smartwatch that prioritizes health, functionality, and durability, the Garmin Epix is undoubtedly worth considering.

Good at most things

I'm happy with it. It's not as user friendly as other smart watches but it's tough as nails and does what I need my smartwatch to do. The screen resolution is top notch and it has some really good features in it. Don't expect your Epix to do all the things an Apple Watch does. But what the epix does do, it does excellent

Best watch I ever had for health metrics

Previously used the Garmin Vivoactive 4 which was great but the Epix offers so much more (including onboard Maps). I was waiting for the Fenix 7 but the Epix has the same features with the Amoled screen. It's lightweight and the perfect size. Much easier to read when working out and extremely customizable.

Definitely Recommend

I have had zero issues with the watch. It tracks my swim workouts accurately and breaks down my outdoor runs and activities. I recently used it for a triathlon and won't do anything outdoors without it. This item is more for Intermediate/expert use based on all the functions the watch has. Will suit common watch wearers as it has a sense of style, but is rugged enough for extreme sport users.

Just get it.

The readability and tracking is phenomenal. Battery life with everything on is adequate. I charge twice a week and use the GPS daily for activities. If you take on a longer trip you would need a battery pack, or you would need to adjust your settings.

Everything I hoped for. Battery is awesome

I upgraded from Fenix 5 plus. Was nervous about the battery life but after 3 weeks of use I am very pleased. Getting about 6.5-7 days with always on display with 7 workouts I will say most of my workouts right now are inside so only doing about 2-3 GPS workouts a week, but still amazing. Screen is so much better than the Fenix. Unless you are an ultra marathoner or take long hiking trips This watch is the choice over Fenix. The only thing I wish was improved was that garmin provided more exclusive watch faces to take full advantage of wonderful display.

The Fenix I Wanted Arrived

Having run with a Fenix5 for three years, my only gripe was the constant difficulty I had reading the screen; I've got a set of 62yr old eye balls. The Epix2 AMOLED screen is EVERYTHING I wanted. It's got the fitness-tracking of the Fenix line and brilliant screen. Battery life is also been significantly improved over what my previous Fenix experienced .
