Not accurate at all

first off let me state I love the Garmin line of products. I have several and always recommend them. But this blood pressure monitor is one to stay away from. It has consistently record both systolic and diastolic lovers 10 to 20 points higher every time. Compared to the standard way of taking blood pressure, not once has this monitor come close to being an accurate reading. Highly diappointent with this product.

Somewhat disappointing

I was excited to switch over to a Garmin BPM. I love my Garmin smartwatch, and I like having all my health info in one place. However, I'm having problems getting consistently accurate readings. I'm not sure if it's the stiff cuff? Anyway, I'm still trying to find the exact arm placement to get good readings. I hope I can get it dialed in.

A good option.

This is a good option for the health conscious person. It can be a little finicky so you have to find the perfect spot but once you find that spot, it should be good. I'd suggest using it on a bare arm (make sure any shirt sleeve isn't constricting or bunching in the armpit area), and getting the cuff good and high, with the bottom of the cuff at least 1-2 finger widths from the crook of the elbow, get it tight but not too tight, and make sure to relax the arm. I've noticed this varies a little from a manual cuff (more systolic than diastolic for some reason) but it's typically in the ballpark, enough to give you a good idea of where you're BP is at. Connection to the app is pretty straightforward and I haven't seen any issues.

Accurate BPM within Garmin Universe

I lead a healthy lifestyle and rely on biometrics to keep me honest (along with a consultation with an MD every year or so). After decades of boring biometrics, I got a blood pressure reading that was a significant outlier to my baseline so I decided to get the Garmin BPM to help me spot meaningful trends. It is an extremely comfortable and intuitive device to use. You can use a single reading or use the 3x setting, which takes three readings spaced one-minute apart to give you an average of the three. The readings automatically appear on my Fenix 7 and in the Garmin Connect app on my phone. One of the best investments in my health I've made recently.

Not accurate

I have had my Garmin BP for a month. It is not remotely close to being accurate. My BP normally is 118/74 (or close). My readings on this BP are 190/ 100. I would need to go to the ED with that number. I did a double check with my older monitor and the reading was much lower. I am going to need to return this unit. I have several other Garmin devices that I really like, so this was a dissapointment.

Nice piece of kit

I like this BP monitor. It connects easily to my garmin app, meaning I dont need to manually log it, seems to be accurate, is small and comfortable to use. First time using one that doesnt have the tube/hose and its very nice. Would recommend if you need to take regular BP readings and use garmin devices.

One size doesn't fit all

Turns out not all cuffs fit. My reading consistently was 40 points too high. Scared me to death! Then my doctor said that cuff was only good up to 16inches. I'm 19. My pressure was normal. Garmin has nothing bigger. However, they could easily state this prior to the sale and save everyone the trouble.

Should have bought this years ago

I have been looking at BP monitors for years. Reading all the reviews as well as pros and cons. The Garmin Index kept coming up with positive results so I bought it. The unit is very easy to use. I check my BP daily using the 3 readings that give you an accurate average. Once you set the cuff up for your arm all you really need to do is put it in position and press a button. The unit does all the work. I highly recommend this.

Best yet!

I have owned several BPM's and the Garmin Index is by far and away the best. Easy to setup and pair through Garmin Connect. In addition, graphically tracking your BP on Garmin Connect is an added bonus. Taking your BP is a snap and the Index automatically uploads your results to Garmin Connect.

Accurate, Reliable, and Easy to Use

I absolutely love this blood pressure monitor. The readings are consistent and realistic — no random high spikes or unusually low numbers. It truly feels like a medical-grade device you can trust. The connection to my phone is seamless, and syncing data is effortless. I can quickly take a measurement anytime and easily keep track of my trends over time. It's convenient, dependable, and gives me real peace of mind. I highly recommend this product.
