Love the design

I bought vivoactive 5 to replace my vivoactive 4s, because the battery was lasting each day less (after 2 yrs). I have the same features and the battery does not long more than 4 days. Not worth the money for this. I will keep it only because it has a beautiful design!

Great SmartWatch

I’m loving my new Vivoactive watch. I previously had a Garmin Instinct and found it hard to read and the multiple buttons not very efficient. The Vivoactive screen is very easy for my 68 year old eyes to read and having fewer buttons more efficient to get where I want to be.

Mostly Pluses with a few Minuses

There are a lot of good features on the Vivoactive 5, including the night mode with less activity that can disturb sleep, and the longer battery life. The big disappointment I have is it doesn't seem to track floors, which previous vivoactives do. I had switched from my Venu Squared back to the Vivoactive, hoping to regain that feature, as I wanted to do the step climbing challenges. My search engine had indicated the feature was on this watch, but it doesn't appear to be the case. Other than that, it seems to track my other activities, like swimming, walking, and biking very well. I also like how it talks through my phone when I hit lap milestones with my walks.

Great battery and keep me motivated

I bought this watch as I am trying to be more mindful of my walking. I opened it on a Friday, set it up and straight out of the box it was up to 85%, I did not charge it until 9 day later, that next Sunday as it was 3% and I had worknon Monday. IMPRESSIVE! Also during the day it tells me if I am stressed if I need to get up a walk a bit, my body battery levels. Still letting it learn my sleep patterns and all the other functions. I love this! Already recommended a coworker to get one as well ❤️

It could do one more thing

I was not impressed that when I tried to take it back to sports check In brandon Manitoba after I recieved it for Christmas when I wanted one you could talk into but they said no electronics is taken back and yet when my daughter and husband was ordering it asked them all these questions and was told you could bring it back . So having said that it kinda leaves a sour taste in your mouth . But having said that very much like my vivo active 3 the battery does not hold as well but still a lot better then my daughters Apple . All I wanted was my watch to charge with out fighting with it and I needed a new strap but on the one I had you had to get a new watch as it was all one , crazy I must say to make one like that . I like the looks of it stylish but had I been able to return I would have got the venu where you can talk into it but thanks to sports check couldn’t do that with out a hassle . Told me to phone garmin and I did but they said they couldn’t do anything so my take on it is I would not do business with sports check because it’s giving you garmin a bad rep

It's a love/hate relationship

There are parts of this device that I LOVE, like the easy to use buttons and easy to read face. However, I do NOT like the body battery or the way they score my sleep. My old watch told me I was getting lots of deep and REM sleep, and I always feel rested. This watch always tells me I had poor/non-restorative sleep. Then during the day, even when I'm just having a relaxing, nice day, it tells me it was a STRESSFUL day. It is full of all these spiky orange lines that show how stressed I am. I tell you - it's the device that is stressing me out! It's been about 3 weeks, so I was HOPING it would adjust to my own body rhythms, but it has not. It could be because I have fibromyalgia and that affects my heart rhythm. Otherwise, I'm really healthy. Basically, if you are healthy, with no problems, it's a great watch/fitness tracker. I like all the other features.

Could be a 5 star

My last Garmin was a Vivoactive and I loved it! I’m still learning the features on my Vivoactive 5, but I am so disappointed that it doesn’t have the floors app or tell any elevation information when using GPS. I love hiking and enjoyed seeing my elevation change when I would sync with my phone. Is there anyway to add the app in an update??

Overall great fitness watch

I have been using my Vivoactive 5 now for a little less than a month. I had previously purchased various cheap fitness watches to use as a step counter, but they all broke after a few months of wear. My Husband’s colleague suggested this watch, and so we both decided to give it a try. Overall, I would recommend this watch to anyone who is looking to get more from their health and wellbeing. Besides cheap fitness watches, I have not owned a watch to this caliber, so I can’t compare it to other watches of its kind, but here’s my overall thoughts: PROS - This watch does a great job at motivating me to MOVE. I’ve literally put off going to bed to make sure I reach my step count and find that I’m more active than ever before. - Being able to customize your strength training workouts through the watch is a game changer. I love that I don’t need to carry my phone around the gym to track what I’m doing. - I love that it’s waterproof and that I can track my laps while swimming. (See notes regarding swimming under cons, too). - The band is comfortable and isn’t distracting or anything (as opposed to previous watches I’ve had), and the lilac color is nice and not as stand out as a black band. - The body battery and sleep score are a nice touch – we’re constantly asking each other what the others is at. It’s also helped me realize how awful my body reacts and sleeps when I drink. CONS - When swimming, I’ve noticed that the tracking isn’t 100% perfect. If I’m swimming free style at a fast pace, it’s fine, but if I want to casually swim during a cool down it typically counts my meters as farther than I’ve gone. Not a total issue, just not a perfect forecast. Additionally, not being able to customize swim workouts is a bit of a bummer, but again not the end of the world. - As someone who’s not technologically advanced, I feel there could be better tutorials or deep dives into how to use it. I had a really hard time connecting my Spotify account, as well as understanding how to create a workout (once I figured it out it’s super easy, but my Husband and I both put our workouts in incorrectly at first because there isn’t much explanation about how to use it). Opportunity for Improvement - Would love to see an additional work out option for aerial yoga. - The challenges are great. I feel there’s an opportunity to make the weekly challenge for steps against others more competitive/like a game. I’m not sure that would be useful to all, but I feel like it would help incentivize me to walk event more! - Would highly recommend purchasing a screen protector for your watch as well, easy to scratch.

Best Fitness Watch Ever!

Honestly, if you’re thinking about getting one, stop waiting and just do it. I will preface by saying that I’m an Apple user and it pairs with my phone just fine. Anyways, my family could not stop raving about how great their Garmin was and how I needed to get one, especially because I’ve been training for a half marathon and blah blah blah. So… I finally did it, and I wish I’d done it sooner! This thing tracks everything - steps, body battery, heart rate, sleep score - EVERY.THING. It comes with a Garmin Coach that has been giving me guided workouts. Right now mine is for running. You just go through and pick what you want to train for and they give you several coaches to choose from. Did I mention it was FREE? And I can’t believe how long the battery lasts! I use the features on this watch DAILY, and I charge it once a week. Most times not even to 100% because I don’t want to miss out on my step count. (LOL) Anyways, just get one. I don’t miss my Apple Watch at all.

Simple yet functional

I have had this watch for about a month and it grows on me more and more each day. I had a Samsung watch that I had for about 6 years. It started to have issues so I went looking for something with a decent battery life, tracking steps, workouts and sleep. When I picked the Vivoactive 5 from the website it seemed to fit all of my needs plus a few extra. Once I got it. I was surprised at how light it felt on my wrist. After getting it all changed and set up I was excited to see how it did. Pros: my battery lasted more than a week. I am using it daily for steps, sleep, body battery, and workouts 4 times a week. After a week of wearing it it was still at 15 % but decided to charge it. It charged quickly I would say around 2 hours for a complete charge maybe a little less but I was not watching to see how long it took to charge. Simple start up for workouts. Easy to find stats. Do not disturb sleep mode automatically (after you set the sleep times). Quick timer and alarm set up on the watch. Cons: alarms that are set on your phone can not be turned off by the watch. Do not disturb while sleeping (not even severe weather alarts). Not sure how accurate sleep score is. Over all I love this watch at first I did not think I was going to keep it but after a while I love it and the pros out weigh the cons for me.
