I can’t give a glowing review but it’s partially my own issue. This was my first garmin (switching from other smart watch platform). After having this a day or 2 I was trying to use the “hike” mode as that is one of the primary reasons I bought the watch. I thought all garmins had hike functionality. I had to return this and buy a venu 3 in its place.

I bought this in mid December, and I absolutely love it. It’s my first Garmin watch, and I’m a long time Fitbit user. The watch is far superior to Fitbit in functionality and data transfer from the watch to the app. I’m disappointed, however that the band broke unexpectedly after only three weeks of use, causing the watch to fall off my wrist. Not something I would expect from a fitness watch designed to be used during vigorous activity.

I've had vivoactive for about a year now. I have to pair it with my cell phone several times a week. Its very frustrating. Sometimes it will pair right away, sometimes I have to play with it & try over & over. I am seriously thinking of switching to another brand. I have had several Garmins. Time to jump ship & go with another brand.

I've had the watch for a couple weeks now. I've used it for Golf, Cycling, and Yoga so far. It works great. For golf, it automatically shows the distance to the green (front, middle, back); just what I want. And it can show the distance to hazards after a few clicks. After a round, you can see on a map exactly where each shot went. That's cool, but I don't expect it will help my game. For everyday use, I was able to select an alternate watch face to show time/date, heart rate, steps, and active minutes for the week. Again, this is what I'm interested in. It takes the watch 3 weeks before it can determine a baseline for heartrate variability, so I haven't seen the fullness of that feature yet, but I do like seeing the graph of nightly HRV on the connect app. Chis watch is a definite step up from my previous fitness tracker.

Extremely disappointed to learn this watch doesn't have the "Hike" activity - but has a bunch of other random activities like archery, disc golf, etc. For Garmin it should be a given that you have the "hike" activity. Furthermore - disappointing how much research it took to figure out why this is the case (because it doesn't have an "altimeter" in it) - which my partner found in other online threads versus Garmin's website.

I bought the watch because I wanted the extended battery charge. My wife and daughter have Apple watches. They charge them every night. My Vivoactive 5 holds a charge for more than a week with normal use. It has all the features I would want in any smart watch.

My Sansung watch suddenly quit on me. I dug out my old 5 or old Garmin, and found it still worked with a charge. I saw this online, and decided to try it. The battery life is crazy good. I don't need to charge it every night. There're tons of customizable watch faces, I can use. And, I can customize my workouts. If it lasts as long as as my old Garmin did, from a few years ago, that will be even better.

Great daily watch with almost too many features. Hated the silicone band - will always advice to get something that woin't riisk skin irritation espoecially with it being an active watch. Keeps excellent track of all my daily needs -HR, Steps, active time - and kept excellent track of my various outdoor activities. They are LOTS of options and it's a bit tedious to learn in comparison to something like a fitbit, but I paid for those extra bells and whistle and for sure think it's worth it.

I've had this device for a couple of months now and have to say that I am loving it. It's incredibly light and the face choices are awesome! The activity capture appears to work very well and I really like the "morning report" that the device gives you. I've owned fitness trackers over the past 10+ years from another company that starts with F and this Garmin has it beat hands down!

I seriously can’t say enough good things about this smartwatch. The color is gorgeous (I get compliments all the time), and the battery life blows me away – I go days without needing to charge it, even with regular use. It’s super comfortable to wear, and I love how easy it is to navigate. From fitness tracking to notifications, it just works seamlessly. Whether I’m working out or just going about my day, the vívoactive® 5 keeps up and then some. If you’re on the fence – just go for it. You won’t regret it!
