Tons of features and activities, highly motivating

I recently switched to Garmin, and although this isn't even one of the pricier models, I'm blown away at how many features it has! The learning curve was a touch steep, only because it offers so much. It took me a few days to discover all it had to offer. It keeps me moving with challenges and feedback on my activity and fitness. I did have two occasions where it didn't record sleep activity, and I'm not sure why, except that those were both days when I didn't go to bed until hours after my regular sleep time. It is accurate and holds a charge quite well. It offers something for just about any activity I could think of and I like that we can set up our own challenges with a connection, and also customize the activities. It also encourages me to keep hydrated, something I don't always pay enough attention to. I'm very happy with this!

Great features

I have had vivoactive 2-5. I love the 5. The features are great! I really like the sleeping coach. The only thing I’d like to see on this is I would live to be able to answer texts from the watch. I have an Apple phone so it is not compatible with text answering as I believe the android is. I do wish the phone and Bluetooth of the watch would reach a bit further. All in all I love this watch!

Wanted to love it

I loved everything about this watch but there was one critical part for me personally that wouldn’t work - receiving texts/calls. It doesn’t play nice with Apple. I returned this and got the venu3S and that feature did work, but annoying it’s advertised on this watch and jt not work. Aside from that it’s wonderful.

Excellent tracker and value

I've been a Garmin user for a number of years. My previous watch was old and I needed a new one to more accurately track heart rate, activities, etc. I decided on the Vivoactive 5 after reading the reviews and have been very pleased. The heart rate is very accurate during an activity, the interface is easy to customize to the ones I use. I am very satisfied with the product.

Great Upgrade from VivoActive 3

I wanted a basic watch & was very happy with the VivoActive 3. It was time to update it & the 5 is a great option. Affordable with much better features than what I had. The band is very soft, comfortable & fits my wrist very well. The screen is clear & easy to read. Overall I feel this is a great entry/mid level watch for those who are looking for something that has a fair amount of functionality & is affordable.

Good but could use some fixes

I finally made the switch from years of having a Fitbit to a Garmin. I've been mostly pleased as there are some great features and customization that are awesome! My only irritations with it are the fact that it doesn't track steps if arms aren't moving, such as when I'm mowing the lawn or pushing a cart and somehow. The cheap Fitbit I had was able to do it so hoping the Garmin has an update to fix this. The only other issues I have with it are that the buttons aren't very sensitive and have to press hard on them to activate and use them. Also, when I flip my wrist to see the time it doesn't display about 40% of the time and I'd like that sensitivity to be increased as well. Overall it's great though and it has many colorful and customizable clock faces to make and choose from.

Love It!

I was an avid Fitbit fan, but after the Google takeover of the company, the products went downhill. After yet another Fitbit having battery issues and then not working at all, I decided to look elsewhere. I did a lot of research on alternate options out there and found Garmin to have the best reviews, options and capabilities. I will admit it was hard to pick just 1 Garmin, there were so many options and price points. After using the comparison tool I narrowed it down to 3 and ultimately chose the Vivoactive 5. I bought one for myself and one for my husband to replace both of our Fitbit Sense 2 - we have been amazed since the first use! Excellent battery life, so many features and tools we are still exploring. The app is fantastic, I found the long-lost challenges option that Fitbit had done away with and so many more useful activities. I feel more encouraged than ever to get my steps and activity in and trust that the data is accurate. I cannot recommend the Vivoactive 5 enough - I will be gifting to a few family members as well this year as it is that amazing! Thank you Garmin!

Excellent experience

Using this watch since about 3 month.very exited and satisfied. However as a beginner I have few queries 1. Why watch is reducing back the steps. 2. Watch and app connect shows different steps. 3. Can weight entry put in watch 4. Watch full charge last for only 3-4 days, may be due to frequent disconnect of app (may be due to Bluetooth signal) ,is it possible to connect app only for the limited time. Expecting positive response to help me.

Simple yet functional

I have had this watch for about a month and it grows on me more and more each day. I had a Samsung watch that I had for about 6 years. It started to have issues so I went looking for something with a decent battery life, tracking steps, workouts and sleep. When I picked the Vivoactive 5 from the website it seemed to fit all of my needs plus a few extra. Once I got it. I was surprised at how light it felt on my wrist. After getting it all changed and set up I was excited to see how it did. Pros: my battery lasted more than a week. I am using it daily for steps, sleep, body battery, and workouts 4 times a week. After a week of wearing it it was still at 15 % but decided to charge it. It charged quickly I would say around 2 hours for a complete charge maybe a little less but I was not watching to see how long it took to charge. Simple start up for workouts. Easy to find stats. Do not disturb sleep mode automatically (after you set the sleep times). Quick timer and alarm set up on the watch. Cons: alarms that are set on your phone can not be turned off by the watch. Do not disturb while sleeping (not even severe weather alarts). Not sure how accurate sleep score is. Over all I love this watch at first I did not think I was going to keep it but after a while I love it and the pros out weigh the cons for me.

Great watch

I bought this watch about a month ago. I switched from an Apple Watch and I love the watch. If you are athletic or are prioritizing a fitness watch over smart watch then this watch is for you. Pro: sleep tracks, very accurate for running and cardio activities with stats tracking which is great. Cons: can’t reply to messages or make phone calls. Strength training activity isn’t as accurate as I would like.
