I’ve had it for a little while now, and I don’t know why I stayed with an Apple Watch so long. There’s SO much you can do with the Garmin that you can’t with the other. There’s watch itself is gorgeous and the band is super soft and comfortable. I’m definitely impressed with this watch.

I’ve been a Fitbit devotee since they came out, but all the changes had made me want to find something else. I’m glad I did! I love my Garmin Vivoactove5. The features and app are great! I love the ease of use. The alarm, tracking and workout options are fantastic

I got this watch as my birthday gift, and I could not be more pleased with it. My fitness is tracked more accurately than ever before. The watch offers great comfort and battery lasts so long. I love how it gives sleep reviews and offers tips and tricks on how to improve that, along with your stress levels, activity, etc. Only thing I would have to say is that those purchasing should be cautious of the band. I had an unknown silicon allergy that made my skin react, but after switching to a metal band, all issues went away! Such a great, quality purchase and watch.

I bought the VivoActive5 a few weeks ago. I was looking for a vast improvement from my previous FitBit devices, most especially when it comes to being water resistant. I paddle board, kayak and go to water parks. My previous FitBits over the past decade could just not hold up at the water parks. After some searching I found the Vivoactive 5. I've loved the additional features and that I can log my paddle board trips as I do it mainly for the workout. However, this week I went to a water park and have mixed opinions on its performance. Several times it got hung up and wouldn't clear a screen. At one point it just kept bouncing back and forth between screens without returning to the “Home Screen”. I finally had to Google how to hard reset the watch to get it to start working again. In the hours it took to get my watch working again I missed countless steps and also had a pretty bad panic attack as I had flashbacks to my past FitBits. Luckily I bought an extended warranty because if it happens again I'll likely return it. Otherwise I've really enjoyed the upgrade to Garmin.

This is a companion to a Venu. My Venu battery was starting to get weak, still good enough for a round of golf but better charge it right before playing. Liked the bezel on the Venu, seems to protect the watch face. They left altitude feature off on this Vivoactive 5, hard to say why. The Vivo functions much like the Venu. It has a lot more memory, good if you want to use it as a music player. I guess phone usage is so important these days that I am seldom without it, this negates any value to using watch as a music player. Connectivity and GPS accuracy all seem good. I have heard some disturbing rumors about Garmin forcing owners into subscription services. Their watches are already somewhat expensive, how much more do they need to squeeze out of the customer? I own a Vivoactive 3, Venu, and now a Vivoactive 5. The Venu was one of the best purchases I ever made. Great view screen, super features. Could have used a few better faces. Was a bit surprised to find the the Vivo 5 did not share all the same faces as the Venu, it is billed as a better battery replacement for the Venu. All in all another good Garmin product

I bought garmin just 20 days ago and still new to watch. Few things I need and still not able to figure out is how to set watch fact which has quick way to record my activity. I am not sure how to make few activities which I keep repeating to keep only those at the top.

I am really enjoying my Garmin Vivoactive 5 so far. I mainly really wanted it to keep up with my walking/jogging, but I’ve also used it to track my strength training/HIIT exercises as well. Truly love the battery life. It’s SO nice not having to put it on the charger at the end of each day.

I bought this watch to replace a Vivoactive 4. I really like my Vivoactive 5 except for it changing my watch face back to the original face that came on the watch when I purchased it. I chose a new watch face and my watch changes it at least once per day. If anyone has a work around for this problem, please post it to me.

The Garmin Vivoactive 5 fulfills every functionality I desired in a smartwatch. It's reliable, feature-rich, and built to last. It excels at doing the important things exceptionally well, which is why I bought it. I recently switched from an Apple Watch to the Garmin Vivoactive 5, primarily because I was frustrated with the short battery life of the Apple Watch. After using the Vivoactive 5 for a few weeks, I can confidently say the switch has been worth it — though not without a bit of a learning curve. What I love: Battery Life: This is hands down the biggest win. I can go several days without charging, even with regular activity tracking, sleep monitoring, and notifications turned on. It’s incredibly freeing not having to top it up every night. Sleep Tracking & Coaching: Garmin's sleep tracking is far more detailed and helpful than what I had before. The sleep coaching feature gives useful insights and suggestions that feel actionable instead of just data for data’s sake. Customization & Watch Faces: There’s a great selection of watch faces, and I appreciate how customizable the watch is overall. It feels like it can be truly tailored to your preferences and lifestyle. The trade-off: Steeper Learning Curve: With all the features and data Garmin offers, there’s definitely a learning curve. The interface and menu system aren’t always intuitive, and I’m still discovering new functions weeks later. If you're coming from a more simplified system like Apple’s, expect a bit of an adjustment period. Final Thoughts: If you're someone who prioritizes battery life, in-depth health tracking, and customization, the Garmin Vivoactive 5 is a strong contender. It’s not quite as plug-and-play as the Apple Watch, but once you get the hang of it, the benefits are absolutely worth it.
