I bought this to put a metal roof on an existing gazebo. It says my photo is too large so I guess you will just have to imagine this as a waterproof unit with enclosed open spaces and sliding panels on the front. Ifsomeone wants a photo, email me!

Assembly is definitely a two man project. Took us a full 8 hours. The unit is stained but i was told by the manufacturer that it must be sealed to satisfy the warranty.

This gazebo looks great the size I though it was 10 x 12 is not the size it is 9.5 x 9.5. If you buy read all the information given. I didn't but I'm still happy with it

Great buy. This gazrbo is sturdy as well as beautiful. I did a lot of research before buying and was impressed with the specs. Especially the fact that the roof can hold up to 30 inches of snow compare to the 2-3 inches for other competitors.

I love it but it took me around 25hr to set it up, didn't have much help. A MUST have to set up my backyard discovery was a 5/16-18 tap and die to clean up the threads on the nuts and bolts. Lucky I had a 5/16 drill bit 12 inches long to clean up and reline the pre-drilled holes on the 4x4. I needed to reline some other holes a basic 5/16 bit worked fine. You will need one more person to help. Three people total would be great. If you know how to work with wood and have the tools it's not that bad. I would do some things differently next time I build one. I would not secure the brace to the legs until it was up on all four legs, use a level to make sure the legs are level then secure the brace and I would use longer and better screws for the frame of the roof.

To the person wanting to locate the instructions-it’s in the box labeled 1 of 5. You have to remove all the contents in the box or call 800-856-4445 and they can email it to you. Put it on PDF (there are 44 pages). Then you just refer to the pages that shows the build or you can print which pages you want. It is beautiful. The electrical outlet is so handy.

Had to use a tap and die to chase all the threads on the bolts and barrel nuts. Pre-drilled holes do not line up. Had to drill them out. This is the worst thing I have ever assembled. For this much money, you would expect better quality. Really had to fight it to get it assembled!

Wife saw it standing tall in the store and absolutely HAD to have it. For pick up bring your strongest friend and your friends strongest friend. The boxes are super heavy and even with the help of the employees it was a HUGE PAIN to load. The Build: One of the most aggravating, pain in the butt weekends I’ve ever had. 1 out of every 3 screws they give you is stripped, all the bolts are boogerd and the pre drilled holes don’t really line up. All in all it took me and 2 friends about 15 hours to build. NOT A ONE MAN JOB. However all that being said it looks good when it’s done and my wife loves it. I guess that’s all that really matters. P.S under no circumstances should you allow your wife to try and “help”. It’ll lead to frustration. Good luck.

I have not yet installed the unit, but it appears to be a quality product. The packages (5) total around 900# or 180# each. For a DIYer, I always look for the instruction manual prior to buying to insure I do not have difficulty in assembly. With this unit, Sam's (Store I bought it from) only provides a cell phone app which is completely useless. Went in circles to find the manual. Finally got it by accidently opening box 1 of 5 which had a nameplate. Calling Backyard Discovery (nameplate in the kit) at (800) 856-4445 to get it emailed to me.

We bought this last week, so this is an early review which I can update after it lives outside for a bit. After reading the reviews and seeing the cedar, we decided to clear seal/protect all the wood in the kit. ALL is a lot of wood!! I did this task and painted each side of every piece of cedar two times. It took a gallon of sealant and about 6 hours! I wish this came pre treated!! If you don’t do this your cedar will grey in weeks, there is nothing pre done to the wood. For the price you spend on this we thought it worth our investment to make it last! My husband then did all the building, solo. He’s very handy so I wasn’t worried. The bolts are annoying, he needed a can of wd40 on hand to grease them up as they are all painted and the threads were tight from the paint. He wished he could have just used his own nail gun and screws and would have been faster, but he got it done! You need to take your time and love on those Darn factory screws. He did have a large post that the holes were mid aligned, and had to “fix this” so watch out it’s not always perfect. I however did give this 4 stars. Why? It does need the prep work of you want it to last and the screws can make you go crazy! But the cedar is not fake, the decorative hardware is lovely and once built it looks so fantastic! I’ll update as it weathers but I just love it!!
