Good Chicken Salad

This was served at a recent baby shower at work. Good flavor and texture. Nice big chunks of white meat chicken. Clean meat, too - no unexpected pieces of fat or bone which seems to show up in most prepared chicken salad. This seems to be quite well prepared. Dressing is mild but has good flavor. I like to add more pepper and mix in some grapes and/or small chunks of fresh apple, but thats just me... Going back for more today. ;)

I will not buy again.

I had been wanting to try & when I was craving chicken salad, I bought this instead of making my own. I personally did not care for it. It was too chunky for a sandwich & more than a couple of times when eating, I found some hard pieces that were cartilage. I ate twice & ended up throwing it away. I do not recommend.

MY hometown product is excellent

For the price per pound, for the flavor, for the excellent tender quality of the chicken chunks, for the convenience, I should give this 5 stars. I had been addicted to Sam's offering of chicken salad that had ginger, cranberries and pecans, but it priced itself out of my kitchen, then disappeared at Sam's. I was reluctant to try a less exotic blend, but WOW! this is an excellent product for an exceptional price. I have tried all the other chicken salads at Sam's just to make sure, but this is my go-to kitchen staple. My mother is a persnickety eater, but when I fed her a sandwich of this Sycamore Farms Chicken Salad, she LIKED it, wanted to know where she could buy it. I'm so glad I can afford this one - and it turns out it's made in my hometown, not kidding. Gooo Sycamore!

Great Taste!

This is the best chicken salad Everyone loves it when I bring to pot lucks ( Put it on finger bread for bite size sandwiches) Buy it all the time great for family lunches or a fast on the go dinner between kids events- thick chucks of chicken and very flavorful!

Too many chunks are just fat or skin

Flavor isn't bad, but it's a little sweet for my taste. My biggest issue is that most of the chunks in this container are weird fatty mush and skin. The information on this product says no skin, more chicken. Based on this batch I would say that seems to be a lie, but maybe I just got an odd container. I'm not generally picky about food but even I cannot soldier through eating this full container of weirdness. It's so off that I'm going to drive 30 minutes back to the sams club (freshly postpartum with my newborn and toddlers) just to return it.

Poor Quality

The original chicken salad prior to Member's Mark was very delicious and high quality. This is the first time I bought the Member's Mark Chicken Salad and the quality is terrible. My first sandwich had a long strand of fatty tissue that not edible. It also had a very tough cartilage type of material that was again not edible. I never found this when it was not Member's Mark brand. If Sam's Club continues to change items to Member's Mark from their original brand and the quality deteriorates then that is an item I will not buy. I am beginning to lose all my faith in purchasing Member's Mark products. I am sorry to see Sam's Club continue to lessen the quality of products they carry. It may eventually mean I will no longer be a Sam's Club member. This is happening too often with Member's Mark products.

Meh Its ok

Its ok. A little thin with WAAAAAY too much celery. Basically celery salad with the occasional big honker of chicken. In fairness I really don't care for celery. I can tolerate it in teeny amounts where it ads a hint of flavor for depth, like a good vegetable soup. Here? Nahh. At least get a dicer. There were many complete 'c's of celery stalk. I will add that I have had chicken salad at family reu

Chunks and strips of tail area chicken skin

I won't ever buy this brand again. I made 3 sandwiches for myself an found big 6 hunks and strips of skin mixed throughout. Apparently people nowadays don't recognize skin when they chew it or ok with eating it in chicken salad. My family doesn't make it this way and i'm not buying it that way either. The 2 biggest pieces were skin from the tail area, were thick and bumpy, and contained a pin feather! I'm really considering taking it back for a refund, but will probably be told that that's the way they make it. If so, they should disclose skin as an ingredient. It is definitely NOT cooked white meat chicken.

Great product ending?

This outstanding product appears to be phased out. SHAME on you Sam's Club product development people. This exact product has been upgraded with the addition of a few chopped pecans and a few dried cranberries which is also a wonderful product. HOWEVER the price differential is clearly the reason for phasing out the original plain chicken salad. The original was priced at about $3 while the new and upgraded product is triple the price running over $9 for the same quantity but with the addition of $.50 worth of a few pecan pieces and dried cranberries. With the record high prices of the rising food costs for all Americans, you would think Sam's Club would want to help out their customers. This single example clearly reflects the level of greed all stores are guilty of robbing the customers by ending a great product in the face of unadulterated greed. This won't stop me from shopping at Sam's Club but I think consumers should be aware that your company clearly takes advantage of the hard economic times. SHAME ON YOU!

Thank you for taking the time to review our chicken salad, Julie. We are glad you like our chicken salad and are happy to say that it is not going anywhere anytime soon. The new cranberry chicken salad is an addition to our already popular Member's Mark chicken salad.
