TN227BK toner cartridge smudging

I have had to replace two black toner cartridges for the new printer (MFC-L3750CDW) I purchased a couple of months ago. The smudging from that black toner cartridge is bad. The solution offered was to replace the toner cartridge. I am now on my third new Brother black cartridge. Very expensive. Brother needs to come up with a fix for this fast.

Outright Lie About Page Yield

One and a half years with printer that uses these, have gone through 3 of these toners. PRINTING 1500-2000 PAGES PER YEAR. Do the math, that's only 1000 pages per toner. Not 3000 like they claim. They'll respond with ISO testing standards, affected by several factors, etc. Well, most of those pages are blank spreadsheets. Just printing the borders of 31 cells. So don't try pulling that with me. Just acknowledge you're lying about how much this toner yields. Brother seems to be following HP's route. Start off with good stuff to build a good reputation, then use that reputation to get away with selling stuff that's nowhere near worth it.

Convenient, but pricey.

The toner is easy to install, but it is a bit pricey, considering the printer uses four different ones, and will not print at all if any are too low. It also does not include the roller assembly, which I have also had to replace a couple of times (HP and some others include the roller in every toner cartridge.)

Poor quality

TN227BK Bought this toner thinking I would get top quality. Unfortunately not. After only using about 40% I started getting black splotches of toner on the printouts. The support instructions were "replace the toner cartridge". Learned my lesson. Might as well buy 3rd party toner.

Original Toner worth the cost to me

I bought this original toner because in the past I have had trouble with "compatible" toners. This was $30.00 more but I unwrapped it and installed it with no problems. This cartridge has a chip and an internet search said some compatible toners had chip trouble.

Terrible Toner!

My Brother laser printer worked great until the first time that I had to replace the toner. I bought this Brother-brand toner and it was a disaster. It left smears on the papers from day one and only got worse over time. This was a huge waste of money.

Defective

I am on my initial cartridges and have already have to go to a copy center when I need printouts of decent quality. Followed all trouble shooting advice for resolving black streaking and it only made the problem worse; now I am supposed to replace the cartridge, but it is only about 55% consumed. This is not good.

defec tive right from the start

maybe it is Staples that is the problem, but i just bought a Brother yellow tn223Y toner - NOT a compatible at 1/3rd the price. opening the fresh box, the primary charge roller has one side that has no color on it at all. it is a shame that Brother mandates you use only their expensive toner cartridges and the quality is not any better than compatibles. and i have had to call Brother 6 times in the last 2 days to try and resolve problems with the connections with my computer and fax issues. still not resolved. very dissatisfied.

Print density is an issue

I was taken aback by the life of the original cartridges, and am hoping the new extended capacity cartridges will be better. I reduced the image density (from the control panel) in the hopes of extending the life of all the cartridges. What I was surprised to find was that once the black cartridge signaled to be replaced, the other colors soon followed suit. I have never had a color printer do this. We specifically went mostly B&W, reserving color only when needed. Now, I am 300 pages in to the cartridge, and the black is showing 90%. Even with density turn back down? Is it real? Time will tell.

Leaves Black streaks on pages

Replaced the black toner cartridge for the first time since buying my brother printer brand new. About 3 months into ownership it was time to replace the black toner so I bought this high yield one (genuine Brother brand). Not only was I not emailed an invoice for business write off purposes, this unit leaves black smudges on every single paper and I have already tried cleaning out the drum/roller unit. It looks like it's a common thing. Try to find a better alternative. There's no reason why anyone should be experiencing this with a brand new printer and brand new toner cartridge that is the same brand as the printer.
