[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had recently tried some Hormel Compleats which I mostly thought were just okay, not a lot of flavor and not enough food for a complete meal. Out of the four I tried, the Beef Stew one was actually called Dinty Moor instead of Compleats even though the rest of the packaging was identical to the others, and it was my favorite. It had a little more flavor and a more diverse texture with the beef, potatos, and carrots. But it was still not nearly enough food. This time I tried the Dinty Moor Beef Stew in a can which was 20 oz instead of only 9 oz, and I liked it. It tasted similar to the one in the plastic container but this one seemed to have more flavor... I have no idea if the plastic vs metal container has anything to do with that or if it was just my imagination that they tasted a little difference, but for sure the 20oz size was much more satisfying. When I had the 9oz one I was still hungry afterwards and had to go heat up another Compleats meal but the 20oz can filled me up good. I didn't like it quite as much as the Chicken and Dumplings which was delicious but this one was still pretty good. I would like to have it again sometime.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was my first time trying Dinty Moore's beef stew. I thought it was good. It had good flavor and was chock full of ingredients. The beef was tender and the other ingredients paired well. The only downside, as is with most canned soups, is the sodium content. I believe it's around 40% of your recommended daily value.

As I loved this product for its taste and texture I did not like it that the potatoes were not cooked as much as I would have liked them to be. Over all I still would recommend this product just for the fact that it is loaded with carrots, potatoes and meat plus the sauce is amazing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The thick and scrumptious brown gravy in Dinty Moore's Beef Stew coats and supports the beef, potatoes and carrot pieces which are abundant, bite size, and cooked to just the right degree of doneness for easy consumption. It looked and smelled delicious when I heated it in a saucepan on the stove, and it was as delicious as we had anticipated when I served it as a light meal last week on a chilly evening. I merely sprinkled on shredded sharp cheddar cheese as an enhancement. I will be buying this regularly now.

The ease of just heating up is a plus for someone wanting a fast dinner. The flavor is not bad without tasting to seasoned or salty. The texture of the meat was good as was the overall flavor. They have improved over the years as this is not what I remember eating a long time ago, so at least they are looking to make the quality better.

Meat is super tender, pretty much falling apart in the stew. Veggies taste great, not overly mushy or bland. Perfect lunch on a cold day.

It has big meaty beef stew pieces in it and several big pieces of potatoes and a few carrots to. its so easy to add something to it if you would like but its very filling by itself. I have been eating this stuff for years and have even served it up many times with lots of compliments. i have recommended this stuff so many i cant even count them. Great main meal.

We love having this stew while camping. However, on our last camping trip, the potatoes in the can were mostly rotting. They were black on the outside, and not from a peel. We removed the ones we could see, but the taste was affected. Since this was our last meal on our trip, we didn't have any other options for dinner, so had to eat. Really disappointed! I would like to get a refund, and suggest that you improve your quality control.

I like the new meat balls, but I'd eat it either way. To be honest, I almost never buy this product. I live in Louisiana, and during hurricane season, we always buy a couple cans of Dinty Moore, just in case we experience an outage and can't cook for ourselves. That being said, I know better than to expect that this soup would taste like home made or would have ingredients I normally use. I purchase this for specific reasons (one being that I despise Campbell's soups). But for the low price point and the high protein and the surprisingly fair calorie count, it winds up being a nice pantry staple for inclimate weather. I do, on occasion, grab a can for when I need a quick lunch for work. To summarize, you get what you pay for, and it's actually superior to other similar brands, in my opinion.
