This has been the only salt I've used for years. Price goes up and down like everything else. No issues. But now Sam's hasn't had it available, and I was forced to use the rust pellets or run my brine tank empty. The large pellets do not work well in my system. I add salt to my curbside visits, but if I am going somewhere else, so will my shopping lists.

I had a $3,000 water softner installed in my home because I the two cheaper units pryor to this were exactly that, cheap. I probably got about 3-5 years out of each one but none of them softened my water to where it was effective. The 2 installers who put my new system in said that the company only recommends solar salt. He explained why but the bottom line is that this is the only salt I've ever used since and it works superbly. I highly recommend this salt and especially from Walmart. There price is the best you're going to find. Plus the ordering on line for pick up means it will be ready for you when you get to the store.

This salt was soooo great! It was like OMG from the moment I opened it until I poured it in the pool. This salt was really like stunning, for sure! It raised my pool salt level from 2900 to 3100 ppm and you can imagine how ecstatic I was. The empty bag fit in the trash can easily and fully met my expectations! Will definitely buy again.

This is by far the best deal. The price per bag is similar to other places but Walmart is about the only one I found that does not add an extra delivery charge to it. Yes the 40 lbs are a lot for us old folks but we pour it into smaller pails before taking it downstairs.

Solar salt comes in forty pound bags, which can be a chore to load. Ordering it on line for store pick-up ,eliminated the need to load it. The bags came already placed on a cart so all I needed to do was take it to my car.Walmart's price for the salt was competitive with other stores so buying it this way eliminated the hassle of the item being out of stock.

Have a culligan system and rejected their monthly salt service to save on the monthly rental cost. The tech that installed recommended these crystals vs pellets so it doesnt void warranty.

Finer salt so it dissolves way better in the pool! Also seems to have less stuff so I'm not vacuuming the pool floor as much because.of the salt itself.

Why did this go up in price so much to 37.99 per 40 lb. bag? I give a good amount of tips for delivering this to my house porch and I carry it into my basement myself. So why the high price?
