If you are struggling with residue or issues in your water softener brine tank, switch to this immediately. I recently had a major headache with my water softener because the standard salt pellets I was using contained additives. Because they weren't fully pure, they caused a buildup that actually led to bacterial growth in my system. It was a very cumbersome process to get the system cleaned out. After the cleaning debacle, I switched to Morton Pure and Natural Water Softener Salt Crystals (40 lb), and the difference is night and day. Because these are natural crystals rather than compressed pellets with binders, they are incredibly pure and dissolve nicely. Since making the switch, my tank has stayed completely clean; no bacteria, no weird residue, and no bridging. The system is running beautifully, and our water quality is excellent. It is a fantastic product, and I will never go back to standard pellets. If you want a cleaner, lower-maintenance softener tank, these crystals are far superior! I will also add that the handle on the bag makes it a lot easier to carry and feed into the tank. The plastic bag is rather thick, so you don't have to worry about stress tears when you're picking it up.

Great quality and price! The salt is broken down into perfect small pellets, and I've been using this brand for my filtered water for a while now. The absolute best part is the home delivery. These bags are heavy, so not having to lug them into my car and into the house is a massive lifesaver.

We use about one 40 lb bags every month for the brine tank of our whole-house water purification system and we find the Morton brand seems to be a higher quality than other brands. Do yourself a favor and always buy these bags in even numbers, because they are MUCH easier to carry two at a time (one in each hand) as the weight is evenly distributed.

Works great with my water softener. The salt is clean, dissolves well, and doesn’t clump. My water feels much softer, and my skin is smoother after showers. Easy to use and reliable. Will definitely buy again.

Crystals are the ONLY way to go with new water softeners and these work great and are a good price here at Walmart (especially when Sam's Club doesn't carry the crystals only the pellets - and you CANNOT add those pellets to a new system!!)

The crystals are what is required for my softener. This worked well all around: soft water, price and ease of handling for adding to my softener. This is my go to brand.

IM NOT ABLE TO POUR INTO MY SOFTNER CONTAINER LIKE I USE TO DO. BUT IM BLESSED TO HAVE MY DAUGHTER TO DO IT. BUT I HAVE PUT IT ON MY WALKER THEN PUSHED IT UP TO THE SOFTNER AND SCOOPED IT OUT WITH A SAUCEPAN UNTIL IT WAS LIGHT ENOUGH TO POUR THE REST IN. PLEASE EXCUSE THE CAPS, I DONT SEE VERY WELL.

This salt works great in my purifier. I like the size of smaller pellets, but they tend to get stuck and not flow to the bottom of the purifier, which can trigger the alarm. I like the ease of pouring the pellets into the machine. The bags should be made sturdier; a couple of the bags were torn open, allowing salt to spill out.

This product was very vibrant. The bag was about 40lbs. I had to carry one in each hand to walk straight, otherwise the one bag I was carrying kept hitting my leg because it made me walk lopsided. And the flavor was very salty... Really made my mouth water. Pretty sure it made my cholesterol go up. Do not recommend chewing, cuz it chipped my tooth....
