This is raw salt chunks, since its raw you will find a few small bits of rocks in the salt, but I pour it slowly and pick them out as I find them. Once a year i let the salt bin on my softener run out, so I can scoop out all the rocks I missed and wash out that scum that collects on the bottom. Sams has the best price in town, and this product is the only reason I have a membership.
