[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tape works well for taping boxes for shipping. I like that it's a bit thicker than normal packing tape, on top of that it is very easy to start! I received this product from 3M in exchange for my honest opinion.

I wanted to pack at night but the tape roll would wake my daughter without fail. This product is quiet! It’s easy to rip with one hand. Strong as can be. And there’s a very nice amount on the roll.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finally I have found a shipping tape that does not stick to itself if it falls underneath the tab guides! No more picking with fingernails to find the lost end, only to have the product shred like other brands. Smooth and quiet unrolling, you will not have to play "tug of war" to commence dispensing. Cuts easily with a slight twist, saving fingers. I feel it has slightly less adhesive than other tapes, so be sure to apply some pressure while smoothing it out to ensure a secure seal. Thanks to 3M for providing me with a free sample so that I could share my thoughts with you!

I too have had strong faith is 3M products since that was pretty much the norm in our household since I was a child. I also use to work for a packaging company in Minnesota & I found they were extremally caring about how our packaging quality was. So I have been using their packaging tape for my shipments to customers for several years & this "sure start" is just horrible & doesn't stick to most cardboard boxes. I'm done as I don't have time to worry if my shipment is going to make it without loss. I don't know where it is made, but I hope you look into your quality control before everyone stops buying your products.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this as example This tape has a 3" core. 1.88" is the width of the tape. It will take refills of tape with a 3" core As it turns out... this will actually hold the full size rolls of tape quite easily. Just tried it. However you do have to be a bit careful when you remove the old roll as you kinda need to bend it .. just be careful not to break the plastic ...although it is flexible I am sure you can snap it in half if you are not careful. Part of the issues with the old tapes were getting them started and keeping them going without wasting a few feet worth of tape trying to get it restarted. With the Scotch® Sure Start Shipping Packaging Tape I call this Problem Solved! While the tape is strong enough to bond to all the boxes I've used it on, it's easy to get the roll re-going if the tape happens to slide back onto the roll surface. I have found that one strip of Scotch® Sure Start Shipping Packaging Tape on the box seals it beautifully, without the need of tape over tape to keep it secure. As a plus, the Scotch® Sure Start Shipping Packaging Tape dispenser it was presented on is easy to use and it's refillable! No more industrial size packaging tape dispensers for me! I highly recommend the Scotch® Sure Start Shipping Packaging Tape for all uses! I'm so happy I have one!

First, what I like: the refillable plastic dispenser is superb. It's designed with little plastic tabs on either side, underneath the blade, so that after you cut off your preferred length of tape, the end of the tape no longer flops down on the roll, leaving you to have to turn the roll around and around until you find the start. Easy to start and really is quieter! It was nice to roll it out across my box and not have that loud "eh-eh" noise. Just as thick as the original one too.

HEY, I am sick and tired of having feet of unused tape cluttering the countertop while I try to coax your wasteful dispenser to provide me with a few inches of usable tape. Would it not be more thoughtful to have, imprinted on the tape itself, an indication of the direction the tape should be dispensed. And what's the logic behind not imprinting the silver start strip with some indication of it's orientation on the roll, i.e. LIFT THIS EDGE.... Come on, this isn't rocket science. On a scale of 0-10, how likely are you to recommend Scotch™ Brand to a friend or colleague?* 3, only because the competition is worse.
