[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have previously bought two from you. No issues. Bought another as a gift for a family member.

I appreciated the free shipping and it arrived within a few days. However, it was not in a Sentry box (just the plain shipping box with styrofoam). Although the keys and lock had the same code the key would not work. I called Sentry and they said I should return it to Walmart. Sentry also said their products should never arrive in a plain box. They suspect this product was a return.

I had been storing some documents in a metal lockbox and others in an accordion file. It is nice to have all my documents in one place and feel that they are protected. The safe actually fit a lot more than I expected given some of the other reviews.

I use this safe to store dvd back up of family movies and the like. My concern is not flood or fire, but the anticipate solar flares of an active sun. Supposedly we are entering a very active period, and i am will to spend a few dollars to protect a lot of time invested in those dvd, and extra back up hard drives.

Has not changed much in 30 years - that is good. Bought a model 1170 30 years ago, and, this model is almost the same. No need to change a good thing. Remember this is a fire safe NOT A SECURITY SAFE. Anybody can open this thing up. UL rated for 1/2 hour at 1550 degrees F. If you need a security safe get a KNAACK box; also get a good lock for it, to keep out the bad guys. A KNAACK box is just as hard to get into as a low, to medium quality safe, and costs a lot less.

I bought this safe for personal home use. It has been used very little in the 2.5 years since I bought it. Today, the lid fell off as the hinges on both sides broke off. I would expect much higher quality from a company like Sentry. I certainly expected the product to last longer than 2.5 years. I won't buy from this company again!

This arrived in a plain brown box. When I opened the safe there was a white ash all in and around the lock mechanism both top and bottom and more in the bottom of the case. The keys worked when I opened it originally but then would not work to lock it again. I returned this the next day. Wondered if it was a used model that someone had tried to test the fireproof level on.

The day before going on vacation the lock was stuck in the up position leaving it unprotected from fire and potential break-ins. Followed their online tips and that did not work. Very disappointed and will not buy from this company again. A waste of money and no protection offered for my sensitive items.

Fed Ex was late delivering it. The item was covered in white powder. The locking mechanism was broken. I kept it because I'm old and it's too heavy bothering to return. I'm not using to file stuff but to keep a few things safer for long term storage. I was able to use a screw driver on the lock and turn it just enough to latch it or open it.
