Having had rectal cancer surgery some time back, I was looking for a solution to help reduce/eliminate the need for wet wiping and stop abrasions. I wish I had discovered this years ago. Having non-stop warm water wash over you without limit was a must but the warming seat takes the cake. It's hard to imagine all this tech under the seat hinge so elegantly hidden away. Once we move into a new home, each toilet is getting one!

I was like you... reading all the great reviews, wondering if this product was really as good as everyone said it was...I was also suffering from a painful rectal fissure for over 2 years. Needless to say, solving rectal pain and finding a personal hygiene product were at the top of my list.. I was also ready to invest in myself, in my health, as best I could.. In a nutshell - WOW - what a total game changer... awesome product..no question.. I normally don't write reviews, but if my comments might help someone else, then it's worth it to me. Pain control - I bought my Brondell just after recovering from rectal surgery. Being told to sit in a warm sitz bath was demoralizing, impractical and of limited value. Yes, I was desperate when I made my purchase, but once installed, I cannot describe my appreciation for this product. The warmth of the water provided pain relief I had not experienced in years. In addition, and just as important, personal hygiene has now gone from being a total hassle to now being a total breeze. I have never been so satisfied and thankful with an online purchase. Because I was in pain, looking for a product to help me - I didn't care about the lack of an electrical outlet. I just simply ran an extension cord in through the bathroom, till an electrician can install a proper outlet. So, if there is no outlet in your bathroom - don't let that stop you. It didn't stop me. My thought was to install the Brondell ASAP, and get the electrician in due time! This was a totally the wise move for me.. Product quality & instillation - After my purchase, I can agree with an earlier post, that the Swash 1000 was a "godsend" for me. It is obviously well made, easy to install, and easy to use every day. No plumber was necessary, and I am all thumbs for sure! I also agree with those who recommend to use the installation video rather that the instruction manual - the video is much easier to follow. I also agree on getting all the extras, as it makes no sense to wish for them in hindsight.. The remote control is a bit intimidating at first, with all the various buttons, but after a few "Swashes" you get the hang of the settings.. For those who hate remote controls, a separate instructional video might be a good idea some day illustrating the various settings.. Quality of life - I know it may sound corny, and repetitive, but this thing will totally change life for the better, I am telling you.. Having used my Brondell for the past month, I will never, never, never go back!!! This is an investment for life.. Water cleans so much better. It's so much more convenient, and there is nothing quite like a warm seat to greet you! It's like a personal spa treatment, for an "under" appreciated area.. ;) Thanks again for a great product, attention to quality, and making life better!

This is a great bidet but the installation recommendations clearly state it's designed for a standard toilet. However it can be installed on a non-standard (ie concealed trapway) with a few variations. I own an American Standard concealed trapway but I suspect other brands are similarly designed. The problem is the connection at the toilet fill valve is tightly enclosed in the toilet housing so you can't just remove the fill hose and install the 7/8" T like a standard toilet. Warning: Don't even try! You can order the 3/8" alternate fitting and install it to the water supply line at the fill valve on the wall. However I read where this may decrease the fill rate of your toilet. Didn't sound like that was a big deal. However if you also are shooting for aesthetics, the water line can be installed on the toilet fill valve at the bottom of the tank just like a standard toilet. To do this, drain the tank and remove the nuts on under the toilet base beneath the tank from the slotted screws installed on the inside bottom of the tank. I had some plastic washers above the nuts, which likely protect the ceramic, that I saved and reinstalled. This allows the entire tank to be removed. Take outside and clean with a garden hose and rag. Then on a workbench remove and install a new fill valve if it's more than a few years old ($5 to $13 for a fancy new one at HD, Lowes or any hardware store) along with the standard 7/8" "T" fitting and new fill hose ($5 for a metal sleeved one). Reinstall the tank. The fitting and hose will fit through the large hole in the base. All connections, including the tank screws, are hand tight and nothing will leak.

This is my second Swash Bidet Seat and the 2 weeks between the delivery of the new Swash 1000 and the demise of the earlier model was like going back in time. The inefficient and unsanitary use of crumpled dry paper could never compare to the warm wash my Brondell afforded me. The confidence of feeling clean is a no brainier. I hope that I will never and I mean never have to be without this luxury no this necessity again.

Just purchased our second Brondell Swash 1000 for our guest bathroom! My husband has a bad back and I had female surgery this past year, the Brondell saved our lives! How did we live without it? The heated seat is a dream and the warm water front or rear wash is perfect! It is so hygienic and comforting. The Europeans have been using bidets for centuries for hygiene and health. The Brondell Swash 1000 does not disappoint. We will never be without it again. The price was perfect and the unit is extremely well made, with very high quality components. The unit looks sleek and clean. We have ranted and raved about the Brondell Swash 1000 to all of,our friends and family. Now our daughter and son purchased one, and they love it! . All surgeons should recommend them as well!! We are DEFINATLEY converts and will never go back to a regular seat! It is extremely easy to install and sets up in minutes. Overall a 10 star rating!!!

We purchased a Brondell Swash 1000 as the closest thing, and I have to say that they did a great job. Same quality product with solid manufacturing. Our butts still feel fancy!

I bought my Brondell Swash 1000 Bidet Seat a month ago. I glory in the luxury and realize that all the royal princes, kings, queens and princesses never had something like this. In a cold wintery day, a warm toilet seat is something only dreamed of in the past. And add to that the ability to leave the toilet feeling clean- it is something out of fiction lore. But this Swash 1000 Bidet seat does it all. Warm seat, and then choose front or rear cleansing and a flow of gentle warmed water cleans and you then press stop and dry. You leave feeling entirely clean and ready to greet the world!!! We also have the Toto washlet which we bought about 5 years ago. This is just as good and costs half as much! The Brondell seat has an eco setting so you are not wasting electricity. It only heats up when you sit on the seat! I highly recommend this for someone who wants to feel pampered! It does just that.

I wish I had bought one of these years ago. As an older man, I spend more time on the toilet than I did years ago. It feels as if I had showered after every use and it took only 4 minutes with no squeegee of glass or towel needed. For those who have had skid mark problems, consider yourself emancipated with this seat.

I've had my 1000 for over 5 years. I purchased my Brondell about 8 years ago. I left my first unit in my home when I sold it. It was working fine but the new owner wanted me to leave it. I was looking for an excuse to upgrade. The hand held remote plus the extra features were well worth it to me. I know this sounds silly but until you use a bidet you don't know what your missing. In the past (happily divorced) my female friends want to take my Brondell when we go our separate ways. But I won't give it up.

We've had this product for about a year and it works as well as the 1st day after installation. The installation was really simple, water supply via a tandem "T", power plug-in and seat install. Couldn't be simpler. Depending on how convenient access is to the water connection and a power plug - you should not need more than just time and evolved patience to install. The seat warmer is set to Mid Temp and so it the water pressure. The water cleaning option is so effective with an absolute feeling of 'clean' and actually being just that for both men or women, without a doubt.
