Comfortable

bought couple months ago. does not lean back comfortably, makes you sit forward. The seat makes me numb after couple hours working at desk. The back rest has pins that are retractable into arm rest for shipping, but they allow back rest to fold backwards when you lean back. I have bought 5+ La-Z-Boy chairs like this from sam's over many years and had a great experience, but this model is junk. Failed in every way that matters. I really want my money back.

like ev1 says this was easy install but it does take 2 people to put together. directions say to turn tension knob clockwise for loosing the tilt that's wrong rule of thumb applies lefty loosely. we bought 2 of these today worth the 400.00 for sure. also they don't lock in the tilt position only in upright position.

I was so happy to replace my old beloved La-Z-Boy big and tall chair with this new chair. I'm 6'3" so I always get my chairs big and tall for the extra back support. This chair is terrible because when I sit in it my feet do not touch the ground, even on the lowest setting and causing me to feel like I'm falling forward. Not being able to touch the ground with my feet makes my lower body to slide out of the chair, causing extreme pain in my lower and upper back. I've had two La-Z-Boy chairs in the past that were so nice. I'm so disappointed about this chair. I cant return it for a month because I'm out of town, I hope they will take the return when I get back.

I bought this chair about 6 - 7 months ago. It has been very comfortable, and I've had no issues with it. Until yesterday. I sat in the chair, and it almost dumped me on the floor. When I checked it, I found that the socket that holds one of the wheels had broken. The socket is a circle that the stem on the wheels fits into. The socket is reinforced, but apparently not well enough. To be fair, I am at the high end of the weight limitation for this chair, but this is still something I would not have expected to fail in less than a year. I use the chair on a smooth flat hardwood floor, so the wheels aren't experiencing any unanticipated forces. This just failed.

If you are truely big & tall skip this chair and go for the Alston Big & Tall Executive Chair Item # 980129409 - I had one, and the stable in the arm rest tore through, it wasn't a big deal honestly, but having it only been a couple months old I decided to return it in store (I had ordered it online) and get a replacement. I had seen this chair thinking it was the same chair as they look almost identical, but this one is a Varnell, and its no where near as comfy as the Alston for someone who is big and tall.. Don't get me wrong this is a nice chair, but I've only owned this chair for a day and I've already re-ordered the Alston and I will be returning this one - Its comfy and seems like a great buy for the money, but I goofed on this and want the Alston back (*What I thought I was getting in store*).

This office chair was purchased yesterday. It was easy to put together, and was fine for a couple of hours. Then it started to tilt to the left. We heard something snap and it tilted even more. I am going to try to return it tomorrow. Our prior office chair was similar to this one. It was a great chair that lasted for years. I am disappointed in this chair and that I have find the time to return it.

I bought this chair a few weeks ago for my home office and it is a comfortable chair and I do think it's a great buy for the money. I do find however its too big for me. I'm 230 lbs and 5'8". The arm rests are really far apart and I am starting to have an issue with the lack of lumbar support. Granted I did hurt my back a week ago so I'm not 100% right now but this chair is really hurting my back to the point I cannot sit and work. Lumbar support of some kind would be really beneficial. I dug my old chair out of the garage to get me thru until my back heels back to 100%. This chair hurts me worse than sitting on the couch.

Not a sturdy chair. I am 5-11 and 230 pounds (with short legs and a long torso), so not light but certainly not as large as this chair should be able to easily handle. The back forces you to sit forward in a way that can be uncomfortable, with the forward curvature on the backrest start in the middle of my back. The chair lasted about 8 months before the back broke free from the arms. I put it together per the instructions but it never felt entirely solid, even with some attempts to fix it. I am probably lucky I did not get hurt. Save your money for a real office chair. I will never buy a La-Z-Boy product again.

I've been using this chair for roughly 6 months. I am well below the max weight, I just wanted to get a bigger chair as I like to sit on my legs, I rarely sit back completely in the chair. With that being noted, from the very first day, this chair has had issues with the back just randomly falling backward. It is as if they didn't make the bolts long enough. I notice that I am not the only one that has had this issue, of course, La-Z-Boy's response to all of them is, you are welcome to take the chair back to Sam's Club. I had mine shipped and trying to get this chair in my vehicle and to the nearest store, isn't really an option. Their poor reply, makes it seem as though they know this is an issue and don't care to fix it. Other than the back issue the chair is great. Super comfortable. I wouldn't waste your money on it though unless you want to fight multiple times a day with putting the back on again. My next chair will definitely not be one made by La-Z-Boy
