Closest shave Ive had but.....
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am going to compare this to my Norelco 7310 that Ive had for many years. The Braun fits great in my hands and is quite slim in the handle compared to the barrel shape of my Norelco. The Braun by FAR is the closest shave Ive ever experienced, when Im done all I feel is skin and no stubble at all. i do have some issues with having to go back over my jaw line though due to the flat head shape of the shaver itself. The BUT in my topic post comes from it being terrible if you have a goatee. It cannot get anywhere close to rounding unlike my 3 head shape on the Norelco. Ive found I have to use both to get my goatee shaped correctly. But if you do not have a goatee Id say this is the razor for you
Poor quality
I bought this shaver to replace a Braun 7526 that won't charge anymore. The 7526 was a true gem, out performs the S-7 hands down, no comparison. So I am back using the 7526, but have to use the cord, no biggy. Tried another new head for the S-7, but no luck.

The most amazing shave I've ever had...
I'll start by saying a lot of the reviews I've seen here have been discussing the fact that instructions aren't included and comments about the fact there is no heater/dryer in the base. First off there is literally only 1 button on the shaver and 1 button on the base (outside of the base ejection button for swapping the cleaning juice). If you struggle with this shaver then there are likely bigger problems in your life. This is very simple shaver that seriously needs no instructions. As for the base always launching the cleaning cycle when you only want to charge the shaver... the shaver battery lasts over an hour. My shaves take approximately 5 minutes. That means I could shave, without the need for charging, or cleaning the shaver 12 times. If after 12 shaves you still don't want to clean the shaver then I don't know what to tell you other than you might want to consider evaluating your hygiene habits. Also, the cleaning solution/juice if not used will evaporate, so you might as well use it. I run the cycle after about 3-4 shaves and the next day it's dry and ready to go. Now for the real review... I previously owned a 5 series Braun many years back and more recently owned a 9 series Braun about 3 years ago. I also have owned/tried Remington, Philips, Manscape, and Wahl shavers in the last 3 years so I have a lot of experience and by far this is better than every shaver I have tried, including the 9 series and I'll explain why. First off, my 9 series broke about 3 years ago only 4 months after purchasing it. The trimmer failed to run; the rest of the shaver still functioned. Anyway, I dealt with the customer service and found it lacking. I mailed the shaver off and after calls asking the status, they told me to be patient. 2 months later I moved, lost my USPS tracking receipt, and finally the Braun customer service acknowledged they didn't have the shaver and asking for shipping confirmation. I no longer had the receipt so I couldn't prove I mailed it. $300 down the drain. So, for the next few years I avoided Braun products. I tried many others and finally gave up and settled with disposable shavers. I seen this sale after all this time and decided to try this shaver/Braun again. The motor on this shaver is louder and more powerful than the 9 series I remember. The attachments are easy to swap and use. I found the lack of an in-built trimmer a little frustrating as it takes a bit of time to swap heads. A small sacrifice as the trimmer itself is leaps and bounds stronger than the 9 series in-built shaver and far easier and more precise to use. Now onto a more sensitive topic, trimming of more delicate parts of the body. My god, this shaver has blown me away and establishes its true value here. The included beard/stubble trimmer attachment, normally meant for beards, has been a godsend for that area and blows Manscape products out the water. Honestly Manscape products are far overrated, and I found before this shaver, a Wahl cordless shaver with the correct guide to be much better. The Stubble and Beard trimmer was better than every product I've ever tried, and I can easily say with confidence that there is absolutely nothing better. This was the first shave I ever had that didn't tear me to shreds and cause excessive bleeding there. The shave is also faster as the newfound confidence allows me to shave without worry of nicks. While I will say it did nick once, the nick was barely noticeable or felt and didn't bleed. A serious gamechanger. The included guides that were notches of 1, 2, or 3 were additions nice but a close trim is possible without worry with guide 1. Seriously, this attachment should be marketed completely differently as it's outstanding. I'm speaking again of the Beard and Stubble Trimmer with 2 notch 1 guides, not the Precision Trimmer attachment as I would be far too scared to use that attachment down there. Also, while the Beard and Stubble trimmer is attached you can still run the cleaning cycle when the shaver is inserted into the base! Honestly that was an amazing discovery as the ability of having that attachment cleaned by the base, especially after shaving in that area, was a huge win for hygiene. On to the real purpose of this shaver, your face... It does a great and thorough job but requires many passes. This shaver shines in giving this quality shave without pulling or nicks. It rivals disposable shaver shaves without the irritation. The requirement of some extra passes is worth it. The 9 series did provide a faster shave as it required fewer passes of the same area, but it did not provide a better shave. The difference being the 9 series is almost 2 - 2.5x as expensive and has a far worse trimmer, no beard and stubble trimmer which again shines where you would least expect it to and had suspect reliability. I have given this product 4 stars as the customer service, if you ever need it, is lacking and I'll likely always have a chip on my shoulder towards Braun for simply making me purchase a shaver to replace a shaver they lost. Going beyond that, while it somewhat pains me to say, this shaver is better than any product on the market, including Brauns 9 series and offers incredible value for the quality and versatility it provides as it can replace EVERY single product in your entire home in one solution.
At Braun, we expect your experience with us to be as smooth as your shave and we're very sorry to hear about what happened with your Series 9. While we're glad that the shave our Series 7 7089cc provided you was the best you've ever experienced, we'd expect a smoother shave due to the many quality checks we have in place. We've found that stretching the skin tight with your free hand, while shaving against the growth of the hair from a right angle, will do the job in as few strokes as possible. We appreciate your feedback Alan, and we'd love nothing more than to hear from you about your past experiences and learn more regarding your most recent shave. We can be reached at 800-272-8611.
Unique shaver
Purchased this shaver as an upgrade from Series 5 because of looks and good grip. Not fully satisfied because if you put pressure against skin for a closer shave, the blade will pop out. Wish the cartridge had a better secured lock. Poor design. This was never an issue with the 5 series design where you press the sides to release the cartridge.
Took my gamble and loss
The instructions are kinky with only pictures and one word. Great if you have a beard. Many sheer spacers.. I don't have a beard so for me this is a waste. To trim my sideburns I need to change blade attachments which means if you Shaved first, you must clean the blade or all the beard stubble will fall out. I find it leaves long hairs and will not pick them up again. I used Norelco for many years and did not have any of these problems. Wasted my money on a poor design.
There's nothing more important to us than ensuring your face gets the grooming you need. We're sorry that our Series 7 7089cc wasn't the device for you were looking for, and we'd love to get in touch to hear your feedback and share some products that we know will be perfect for you. At your leisure, give us a call at 800-272-8611.
Braun quality, great shave. Terrific bundle. A+
My third Braun shaver, I've always been very happy with the Series 7. For me, this was a worthwhile upgrade from my trusty old Braun 790cc. Three things I just love about this shaver... a. Shave. The shave for my wire-like beard is excellent--no bumps or burn. Cuts like smooth butter, and I could skip a day if I had to without much fuss. b. Maintenance. I hate cleaning blades. Period. The whole thing is drop-in and push a button. Easy. Compared to the older Series 7s, it's not much of a change except this one seems to immerse the whole head in cleaner rather than just the blades. c. Power. Less passes over the same spot makes me happy. I go once or twice and that's it, always against the grain. The shaver handles it without an issue. Advice: a. If you are planning to use it in the shower (wet), use very little shave cream, if any at all. You'll find it shaves better without it or very, very little. b. Oil your blades. The manual hints at it but if you're not using the included cleaning solution, oil your blades, especially after you've washed it. Braun advertises about 18 months per set of blades provided which I think is true but requires care. If you're using just the solution as advertised, you're fine; however, if you're washing it under the sink or using it in the shower, let the blades dry separately, and oil them. c. I wouldn't let it go more than 2-3 days of shaving without at least a rinse, the shaver head will begin to smell. Daily cleaning in the solution is the best way to go but if you're on a trip, at least give it a rinse under the faucet. One thing that could be better is the manual. It's not a hard read or anything but very spartan on written directions, it's all visual cues. Overall, the Sam's bundle is a great deal, I highly recommend it. A+ for the value.
Phenomenal results!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband has very sensitive skin and forgoes shaving often because he breaks out in rashes everytime, but with this razor he hasn't. Since it arrived at our doorstep, he has used it 4 times and everytime he is thankful it doesnt cause irritation and is easy to use. Overall the design of this shaver is gorgeous and very sleek. It isnt very heavy and the controls are on the shaver and light up making it easy to change settings without trouble finding while shaving. The price point is perfect - and it is worth every penny of the results.
Great razor, shaves close with an amazing battery
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This razor has surpassed all my expectations in an electric razor. I have been a blade shaver for years because I've never been able to get a really close quality shave without it. This razor hugs the face really well and doesn't pull the hair from my face like some rotary shavers have done in the past. It is extremely easy to clean which just takes seconds by just flipping the top off. The battery life is amazing as well as it's lasted 3 weeks already without asking for another charge. I've put the manual shaving to rest!
Great new shaver
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received Braun Shaver 7020s Solo Silver US for free from Viewpoints Sampling Program to try it and to provide my unbiased feedback. The Braun Shaver 7020s Solo Silver US has a beautiful design and is quite powerful. It's neither noisy nor heavy. I not only like the way it shaves but also enjoy the way it sits in my hand. If I compare Braun Shaver 7020s Solo Silver US to another shaver of mine then I can tell that it does a much better job. It adapts to the area of the face and makes shaving even tough spaces a breeze. It's waterproof and I don't have to worry if it falls in the sink when the water is on. Another cool feature that I like is a quick charge for one shave. I used it once when I forgot to charge it the night before. It took my shaver about 4-5 minutes and it was back to work. Braun Shaver 7020s Solo has a nice trimming attachment that is very easy to snap on. It gives me a very nice trim. Also, it comes with a case. It feels very durable and it helps to protect my new shaver when not in use. I spend a lot less time shaving now and I'm very happy with it. I will recommend it to my friends and family members.
