I bought these for meals for a friend stuck in the hospital for months. I'd cook extra food each evening and pack up for my friend and her husband so they had a quick, home-cooked meal. The food stayed fresh and warm and I could write on the top lid what the contents were. They never had to worry about returning a container to me. Each container held one portion well. Some meals like lasagne would hold two portions.
