- 5 out of 5 stars review11/12/2010Have been using various Michelin tires almost exclusively since the early 1970s. The few times I've purchased another brand, I regretted it very soon. In my opinion Michelin simply makes the best tires available at a reasonable price, which usually winds up being among the lowest cost per mile, even though a larger investment up front. I especially appreciate the real safety factors such as good stopping characteristics, good traction on slick roads, low propensity for hydroplaning.

One concern (or complaint) is that on gravel roads, they pick up and throw rocks… a lot more than any tire I’ve ever owned. I may have to swap these if I determine the rocks are causing damages.

Went back to place of purchase. They rebalanced. Did not help issue. Went back second time. They rebalanced again. Because I was so unhappy with tires, they replaced two of them. I still have the rough ride and vibration. I personnel think the back are bad tires. Would not purchase this tire again.

Long story short, I got 90,000 miles on my first set of Defenders. I towed as much as 6,000 pounds on these tires, and loaded upwards of 3,200 in the bed of the truck on these tires. I was impressed, and continued to remain impressed. I could have reached 100,000 on this first set of Defenders but I do have my limits. I recently upgraded to larger tires for my truck. 285-70-17s. I stayed with the Defenders. So far, so good.

When I drove my car back home, I've got a new feeling, just like I was driving a new car. The new tire made the car feel more comfortable, like sitting on a firm-but-soft spring, very good! I am ready for the winter season for ski, will provide more updates for the highway and light snow conditions.

Felt like I was driving a different truck with the Michelins final on, quite, good control, ride that feels like your floating. Only draw back to me I always felt like I was driving 10 MPH slower. Had to keep my eye on speed until I adjust to them. Highly recommend.

Had switched to Michelin tires 10 years ago and have been very sastified. This past summer I was concerned with my 10 ply tires on our motorhome. We live in Arizona and travel to California in hot weather across the desert. I check the tires often and noticed some dryness where the sidewalls meet the tread. Mileage was 11,600 and the tread looked new. My thoughts was the safety of my family for fear of tread seperation. The tire dealer put me in-touch with Michelin Customer Service. A very nice woman took my information making a file and informed me to return the the dealer for inspection. A inspection was made on each tire and numbers recorded. The dealer phoned Michelin...

The ride is good, they're pretty quiet, but since winter hit, I realized these are the best tires I've ever had. The grip in deep snow is excellent, they stop well in snow/ice/slush and I have to be sure not to get overconfident. Wear in the first 3,000 miles has been negligible. I'm really happy with these tires. They even look like they mean business.

We commented many times about how disappointed we were with all the road noise this Lincoln had.. Little did we know it was the Pirelli's. After two sets of them I wanted to try something else and low and behold, the New Michelin's did the trick. The road noise from the car is sooo much quieter now. I wont be putting Pirelli's back on this car again!

I will not have any other tires on my vehicals other than Michelins. The LTX M/S are one of the best snow tires I have ever owned ! I have never been stuck in snow or mud since I have had these tires on my vehicals!

I have had or driven dozens of cars, pickups, vans, straight trucks and semi trucks. I am not aware of any brand or tread pattern better than the Michelin LTX M/S. I have watched others experience the tires of their choices, how they made noise or the tread disappeared, or their choices were not even close to the Michelin on wet roads. Other than one source selling the same tire for less, I have not yet heard of or experienced a better tire. I am hoping to, by buying the new Defender for my van.. Thank you Michelin. Sincerely.

Like many other drivers I have tried other brands when deals seemed to good to pass up, however, I have always returned to Michelin. The old saying, "you get what you pay for", is very true and aptly applies. These tires have the best ride and are extremely dependable. They will always be my first choice when new tires are needed.

To date, the tires have consistently given us a smooth ride and are wearing quite well. Based upon the price I paid for these four tires, I can definitely state that I am receiving a good value for the price I paid.

They have performed flawlessly in all kinds of weather in city, highway and trailer towing conditions. The vehicle just turned over 200,000 miles, which would be over 132,000 miles on these tires, and they still have a little tread left. I'm donating the car, but will make sure my next set of tires are Michelins.

Traction is great in wet weather and snow also. I will be replacing them with new ones the same when they wear out. I will get about 50,000 miles as opposed to 35-40,000 on previous brands.

I have never been able to get these tires to balance properly. On certain road surfaces, these tires vibrate and make the steering wheel shake. It's not all roads and not always at the same speeds. I will not buy these again. Please build the LTX M/S 2 again.

Still checking gas mileage as it may have dropped a little. Also put a set of michelin tires on wifes 2010 Maxima and the ride is like a new car.
