- 5 out of 5 stars review11/12/2010vehicle is a 4 wheel drive 2500HD with the 8.1 engine. The original tires lasted 50,000 miles. I experienced one flat tire from a nail when the tires were new. At 50,000 miles, I asked for Michelin LTX. This was a good choice. The Michelins were driven for 110,000 miles will no problems. The tires had finally worn to the wear indicators when I discovered a 1/2" screw sticking in the tire. I removed the screw, but there was no leak. I believe I could have driven another 10,000 miles before I would have been into the wear indicators. I have never had another set to tires to match the performance of the Michelins. The tires always drove straight and worn evenly. I am very pleased with this brand and these are the reasons I purchased another se...

bluemowerOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/13/2013We own 3 vehicles (1 truck & 2 SUV's) & use the Michelin LTX M/S on all of them. We rotate them every 6,000 - 8,000 miles & have always gotten many more miles out of them than is listed. The LTX M/S is outstanding in the snow! We live in a rural area with lots of hills & curves. My husband's job requires him to be on the road before snow plows ever clear our back roads & he loves the traction they provide. Very smooth ride too!
Excellent Tire!

Originally posted onmichelinman.com - 4 out of 5 stars review9/7/2012Simply put, the ride is exceptional, great performance, tracking, steering road conditions, tire treadlife. Only downfall is the white outline tires. The way your bonding process is? ( i WAS TOLD THIS BY YOUR REPRESENTATIVE(S) SEE ANY HISTORY, warranty adjustments/ claims...). Had sidewall cracking. Not sure if this could pose a danger, did not want to take that chance. Hoping you would solve this issue, I PURCHASED ONE OF YOUR SIDELINES B.F. GOODRICH, hoping by the time I had to replace them and come back to these tires, this problem would be solved. Currently watching this...

The day before, on my way home from work, the snow was coming down hard and I was headed for a 250 foot elevation hill climb. About halfway up, and around the bend, cars were in the ditch and blocking the road. I had to come to a complete stop on the steep incline. Whew, I didn't slide back down the hill. I put it in four-wheel-drive low expecting some slippage as I started moving again. Surprisingly no slippage whatsoever! I slalomed around the cars and pulled a couple out of the ditch and one up the hill to safety. Without a doubt I would purchase Michelin mud and snow tires again for my four-wheel-drive vehicle.
Amazing snow grip!
SteevansOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review12/18/2018I recently put these on my 2015 Grand Cherokee and so far, they are great. Prior to these, I had the Latitude Tours, which I loved. These have a more aggressive looking tread pattern, and initially, I was a bit concerned they would have increased road noise, or compromise the comfort of the ride, but I have to say I am impressed - they are as good in those respects as the Latitude. These appear to be a more capable tire in snow and mud and I am looking forward to taking them through a Minnesota Winter. Recommmended!
Quiet, comfortable and capable tire
TChrisOriginally posted onmichelinman.comConsumer CareThanks for the awesome review TChris. Michelin customers ROCK! - 5 out of 5 stars review11/12/2010The tires I have on my GMC 2500 Suburban are LTX265/75R16.There is only one brand at the top... Michelin! They have over 40,000 miles and have over the original tread remaining. It seems that they are the only manufacturer of tires capable of making a tire suitable for the weight and payload of any vehicle without compromising performance and wear. I have experienced this over the past 35 years time and time again. Kudos to the engineers at Michelin.

Richie3Originally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/5/2019My mom is and over the road truck driver delivering camper trailers all over the country. Her 2008 Silverado 3500HD has nearly 550,000 miles on it. She is on her third set of Michelin - Michelin Defender LTX M/S. 3 Sets of 6 tires per set(18 tires) none of them have ever blown out. The least amount of miles she has gotten out of a set is 103,000 miles the most was 120,000 miles on the last set. These things perform and are well worth the investment.
These are the best tires for the money!!!
jl12122000Originally posted onmichelinman.comConsumer CareThanks for the awesome review, jl12122000! Michelin customers ROCK! - 5 out of 5 stars review8/13/2013In over 55 years of driving, I have owned at least 25 cars. I have driven in tough road conditions, but was never as confident as I am now with the LTX M/S Michelins on my 4-Runner. The road noise is very low, the ride is smooth, and my gas mileage went up by 2 mpg, or 10%! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these tires to anyone.
Gas Mileage Increased
Originally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/15/2010Bought a used Nissan 4X4 pickup, the tires were worn but I thought I could get a few more miles on them. Then I picked up a nail in the sidewall on one, and went looking for a replacement. Being a Saturday, some tire dealers were closed, go figure, so I stopped at place I don't normally shop. They had a set of 4 Michelin LTX M/S tires, just the right size and offered a good price, so I said why not? They improved the looks of the truck right away, and as I pulled away from the shop, I could not believe how mush better they made the truck ride. Later, we had some of the worst snow we've had for some time. In 4 wheel drive, those tires were unstoppable, they just kept on digging. Will I buy more Michelins, you better believe it!

donniedrpOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review6/24/2011OK, I had michelins on my honda accord years ago and remembered how good they were and how long they lasted (had 110K miles on them when I sold it). So when my 2003 Escape needed replacements for the tires that came on it at 60K miles, I went with the Michelins. Now six years and over 170K miles later I am ready for a new set (or maybe a new vehicle, since the odometer is near 240K). I am very pleased with Michelins. They last forever! The guy at the tire store said I could probably get 5-10K more out of them since I actually still have good tread but am seeing some dry rot - they are getting old. Great tires Michelin!
Couldn't ask for more
luvmymichelinsOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/12/2010The LTX M/S tires are long wearing and more importantly, they retain their wet and snow traction until the very end. Unlike other tires that may have good and dependable traction for the first year, LTX M/S retain their positive traction for stopping, fast starts and cornering.

kalwakOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/21/2015Purchased a set of Defender LTX M/S tires for our 2008 Toyota Highlander Limited. Could not be happier! Smooth quiet ride, with very good handling. Recently traveled about 1400 miles over varying types of road surfaces and mountain driving. Felt a lot more comfortable coming down the steep and winding mountain roads that we have traveled many times so very familiar with those roads. Nice looking tires as well. Have not tried rain or snow yet so only rating performance based on dry roads.
Great tires! Very happy with the purchase.
bobcat66Originally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review3/6/2023In 45 years of owning vehicles these are probably the best tires I have ever owned. First I did my research before buying these tires. Along with some other traits, I really wanted a tire with good traction for the snow and ice I experience in Michigan as well as decent rolling resistance so that I would still get good fuel economy with our hybrid electric vehicle. I also wanted a quieter tire and this is difficult to find with a mud and snow tire. I narrowed it down to this Michelin and another name brand tire. After discussing this with my auto mechanic brother he said hands down get the Michelin! I have had these tires on our Hybrid Electric All Wheel Drive Escape for 5 1/2 years now and they have been amazing! Smooth riding and quiet wi...
Most Amazing Tire Ever!
fishinguyOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 3 out of 5 stars review3/1/2023It's a month and I am not impressed. I switched from Michelin Premiere which were very nice. Essentially it's like switching from nice and smooth ride to one in which you feel every vibration and bump on steering wheel. 1. The tires are louder than expected based on reviews. 2. I keep feeling vibration, even at very low speeds. The person in tire place checked and says everything looks right. It started with tire change so it is definitely tires not anything else in car. So this is definitely not comfortable drive tire. Probably good for trucks, but not other cars.
Not impressive

Always used the "lattitude tour" version and loved them. Probably went through a total of 5 or 6 sets. Now discontinued I went with the defender LTX on my tacoma. They are very noisy. I have to turn up my radeo at 35 MPH. yes, they handle great, but I can't stand the noise. Now my mom needs a set of tires for her 2013 avalanche and I am not sure what to do. Any suggestions?

scottOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/12/2010I've driven on Michelin tires since the 70's and have been very happy with all of them. Great styling and tread wear. The current set on my '07 Silverado have 27,500 miles on them and you can barely tell they're used. ( Of course, regular rotation helps ) They are very quiet on the road at any speed. The handling of a full size truck is marginal at best, but these tires can handle anything I can throw at them. I've only been in one emergency braking situation with this truck/tire combination which required hard braking and a quick turn and these tires handled it like a champ. In almost 35 years of owning Michelins, I've never had a manufacture's flaw or any such problem and this current set looks like they will be just as trouble free. I wo...

Jimbo14Originally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/15/2019I just bought a new set of Defender LTX M/S tires for my 2018 Lincoln Navigator. They are quiet, even on typically noisy concrete. We'll see if they perform as well and exceed the tread life warranty like my multiple sets of LTX M/S2 tires did on my Ford Expedition. Tire rotations every 5,000 miles make a difference in making the tread wear more evenly.
Another Great Start With New Michelins
kevjoblueOriginally posted onmichelinman.comConsumer CareWhat an encouraging review! Thanks so much kevjoblue! - 5 out of 5 stars review3/9/2017I had installed these on my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee a week ago after running on the factory tires. These are very quiet tires and handle great in wet weather. I like the smooth soft ride these tires give. I am a very happy customer. Thanks Michelin.

Sross1220Originally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/13/2013I hate buying tires period. I learned a valuable lesson when I was young about tires. I wanted a set of Michelin's for my 1969 Mustang. Not many 17 year olds can afford new tires, so I settled on another brand. I had troubles from day one with those tires. I went back to the tire dealer and I was offered the opportunity to upgrade to a set of Michelins. I had to borrow money to afford them but man were they worth it. 29 years and many sets of Michelins later, I wouldn't change a thing. My current set has 83,000 miles on them and they still have some life left in them. Wow. I love it when a product lives up to it's hype and advertising.
You get what you pay for with Michelin
