- 4 out of 5 stars review11/12/2010I think these tires should receive 5 stars but the price are on the high side. When I go into tire stores I have to hagel with them for my Michelins. I have three trucks and my daughter has two. All but one has Michelins on them. When it's time for the Explorer I'll put Michelin on it. I like not to keep buying tires, I'd like to buy them once.

Originally posted onmichelinman.com - 1 out of 5 stars review7/19/2012Have had 7 LTX-MS2 tires replaced in the last year. Failures ranged from blowout at freeway speeds due to tread separation, sidewall puncture, tread penetration thru the belts by virtually anything. The 6th was a sudden sidewall failure and upon changing the tire noticed that the rip was about 4 inches long but the interesting part was the sidewall only had ONE belt--not two like printed on the tire. Previously ran 2 sets of Michelin tires over 100,000 miles each with NO failures.

The truck was loaded with a 5,000 Lance camper and trailed boats from 17 to 22 feet. Great tires !!

Originally posted onmichelinman.com - 4 out of 5 stars review11/12/2010I drive a F250 and use to run bias tires because the sidewalls were tougher. I'm on about to get my third set of LT M/S. They are a great tire. Quiet and strong. I usually load about 1,000# to haul every day and the quiet smooth ride is to set example. Never had a tire failure with one and only cut one once. Highly recommended for a personal service vehicle.

ezOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/13/2013I put the Michelin tires on my 2008 Silverado extended cab that has some suspension mods that made it run hard and loud on the stock tires. I also needed higher load rating tires than the stock ones I was rolling on. The Michelins were like nirvana...very quiet and smooth on the road...like buttah, baby! They are wearing very well, too. So, I am going to put a set on my Durango next. Great tire!
Like buttah, baby!
Big Papa2Originally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/31/2023I bought this tire a couple of weeks ago and can not believe the difference this tire has made in the performance of my Silverado. It doesn’t feel like the same truck. Ride, steering, tracking in dry, wet and off road conditions is Excellent, with no noticeable noise. This is a very comfortable riding tire for a truck. Highly recommend these tires. Defender LTX M/S 275/50R22 111H.
Excellent Tire for the Chevy Silverado
Chevy3Originally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review2/4/2021Had a set of these put on my 4WD Honda Element in September. I liked immediately. The ride is good, they're pretty quiet, but since winter hit, I realized these are the best tires I've ever had. The grip in deep snow is excellent, they stop well in snow/ice/slush and I have to be sure not to get overconfident. Wear in the first 3,000 miles has been negligible. I'm really happy with these tires. They even look like they mean business.
I'm Impressed
ElementLoverOriginally posted onmichelinman.comConsumer CareThanks for sharing the love, ElementLover! We appreciate you! - 1 out of 5 stars review11/16/2019Purchase these tire based on past experience with Michelin. Returned the next day with a vibration thought it was bad balancing, the second balancing did nothing complained with no results. A few weeks later went to my dealer and had the tires balanced again but to no avail. Returned to the supplier that I staled them and was told the they had found a problem with some on these tires. Asked for resolution and was told it was complicated. Finally they will replace these defective tires but I will have to pay for the wear on them. This is not rite as I have been complains since day one. No happy about this at all.
Not at all satisfied
DesOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/9/2012I've been a michelin buyer for over 40 years and these are by far the best tires I've ever had. They came new on my 2008 Honda Ridgeline and they now have 79,125 miles on them and I just ordered a replacement set and I hope to get the same mileage out of the next ones. Great job Michelin
Fantastic mileage
Originally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/13/2013I am 45 years old and very concerned with the safety of my vehicle. Michelin has proven to be the best tire by far and is worth the price. I have tried to go with a more reasonably priced tire but it was not worth it because of the quick wear. If you want safety especially in inclement weather conditions, quality, smooth ride, durability and even looks, you cannot go wrong with Michelin tires. Michelin tires is what it will be for me FOREVER!!!!
Michelin is the best tire by far!!
Originally posted onmichelinman.com - 4 out of 5 stars review11/11/2021I've had these tires for a couple of months now. The wet and dry handling and braking are excellent, similar to that of the Michelin Premier LTXs that were on the car previously. I hear a slight bit more road noise, and I feel more road imperfections with these Defenders than with the Premiers. But I believe that's because these Defenders have a more aggressive tread design and a longer-wearing (firmer) tread compound than the Premiers. That should mean that the Defenders will have better performance in the snow, and they should last longer; two traits I look forward to experiencing.
Quality and Safety

Less rolling resistance, less than 1/2 previous tire noise, perfectly smooth ride, excellent traction, when accelerating, slowing, or turning. Highly recommended. No other companies tires are even close.
Perfect
StevenOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/11/2021We got these 2 seasons ago to replace the tires on our Explorer just before a road trip from BC to Alberta. The tires wear and ride much nicer than the Ford O/E tires. The deep treads were great in heavy rain. After 30,000 they are mostly as new … we change to snow tires for 4-5 months of the year. Ford should use these as their O/E tires …
Nothing Better Than New Tires
GeorgeOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 4 out of 5 stars review8/13/2013I have been running these tires on my trucks for years. Very quiet, long wearing and handling. However I have noticed the tires dry rot much quicker than years past. My mechanic will no longer pay the Michelin premium prices because they dry rot much sooner than they wear out. Other than that these are great tires

campingdudeOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/21/2017Excellent tire. Great for holding down cost of long distance commuting. Been driving on Michelin tires for 40 years and they just keep getting better. I don't even look at other brands when replacing and won't buy a new car unless it comes with Michelins. Just took off my last LTX's at 73,000 miles and probably could have gone to 80K before getting to the wear bar but, the rainy season is just around the corner and I really wanted the tread depth back. Used to live up North and these LTX's were great in the snow too. Truly the best all-round tire. And, they're round so, none of the wump wump wump you here with some other brands.
Set 4 and only getting better
RC CruiserOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/16/2013Good looking, long wearing tire. Whenever I've put LTX M/S on a vehicle those were the last tires I bought for the vehicle. Great traction on the beach. I buy AWD vehicles to drive on the beach, and LTX M/S is the best tire for off road and on road. The only inhibition is price. The most expensive tire you can buy.
Long wearing
shellmasterOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 3 out of 5 stars review7/23/2019Bought a set of Defender LTX M/S tires about 6 months ago. When I first drove with them I noticed that they were very noisy. Had them rotated and balanced at 6000 miles. I discussed the noise problem with the dealer and he had a technician drive my vehicle after the tires were rotated. The technician said the tires sounded quiet to him. I had him ride with me and he said he could hear the tire noise but considered them to be quiet, "quieter than most". I have never had tires this noisy. I would not recommend these tires if you want a quiet ride.
Noisy Tires
BobmyOriginally posted onmichelinman.comConsumer CareThanks for taking the time to submit a review, Bobmy. - 5 out of 5 stars review8/13/2013This is the second set of LTX M/S we have installed on our Ford Edge AWD. We live in an area that receives considerable snow fall. We were so impressed with the first set that we replaced them with another. They are quiet on the highway, provide sound handling, great traction in wet and snow while providing decent wear or longevity. When this set wears out, I'd gladly put on another.

SchwassOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/13/2010The LTX is by far the best tires I have ever owned. My first set of LTX was bought used from A friend I worked with and when I bought the tires they had 50,000 miles on them and still looked new. I put another 100,000 miles on them!!! Thats right I got 150,000 miles out of one set of tires and they still have 1/4 inch deep tread and I'm still using them on and old project truck. The only reason I changed the tires was due to age and some weather cracks on side walls other wise I would still have them on the truck and I'm willing to bet I could get 200,000 miles out of them. Needless to say I purchased a new set of the LTX for the old truck also I brought a set of LTX for my full size van. I have a set of Michelin on my car and as soon as I ...

cleteOriginally posted onmichelinman.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/11/2021I purchased the Michelin’s for my Silverado used to travel to-and-from New England and Colorado. The trip is 2,100 miles each way and then we alternate between paved and gravel roads in CO. The tires give a smooth and comfortable ride traveling cross country. When in CO, they are rugged enough to provide good traction on gravel and in the mud. Yet they are versatile enough to corner beautifully on the paved mountain roads. Not my first set of Michelins; certainly not my last. In fact we have similar Michelins on our other cars.
Cross Country and a summer in Colorado!
