This tire was recommended by my retailer on the basis of many satisfying customers over many years and it reputation for long wear. I was inclined to buy a more energy efficient Michelin like Latitude for gas savings but was told the LTX's wear noticeably longer and have winter traction advantages so I went with them and will likely spend more on gas and less on tires. I was not able to calculate break even points but know that I lost 1mpg compared to the last tires (not Michelins) on my vehicle. Overall I am very satisfied. I have 25000 miles on them on my Highlander with 9/32nds of tread left so it looks like I can expect about 75000 miles.

I always purchase Michelin tires because of their extensive life and mileage performance. My last set of tires on a Ford Explorer lasted for over ten years and 100,000 miles. My current set of Michelin tires of all weather tires are over five years old and have over 60,000 miles.

Safety is #1 I like the way I feel safer driving in all road conditions with my Michelin Defender tires on my vehicle. Also, the ride is much smoother on any of those road condition I drive on. I think they will last a long time. My last Michelin tires lasted 13 years!!

Just bought these Defenders . My 2011 Ford f150 never rode so smooth ! Excellent in the rain and man talk about an improved ride. It's literally like a different truck. They are without a doubt the best tires I ever owned ! The best money I ever spent ! I never do reviews but went out of my way to do complete this one. You truly only get what you pay for. I am 67 years young and these are the BEST !!!!

I purchased this tire in 2020 shortly after cupping the OEM Firestone Destination Tires with less than 30,000 miles. I sold the Jeep Wrangler in May 2024 with over 101,000 miles on the vehicle. 73,000 of the last miles were on the Michelin Defender LT MS tires purchased in 2020. The tires were still serviceable with 5/32 tread depth remaining.

I have run these tires on Ford, Chevy and Dodge trucks for over 15 years, always try to replace my factory tires with them, haven't found another tire manufacturer who can provide as good a tire and the mileage life as the LTX M/S. Being in outside sales I drive close to 50K miles a year with a mix of city and highway. I typically get 80K miles on a set with even wear down to the end with regular balance & rotation every 5K miles, lucky to get 50K miles on any others.

This is the third set of LTX M/S I've owned and I will not ever own anything else! These tires are perfect for my truck ,long interstate drives or getting a little mud on my tires makes no difference with these babies! My dad always taught me the two most important things on a vehicle were the tires and brakes. He also said your going to get what you pay for, which I didn't always follow his advise. I took the cheaper route and it always cost me more in the end. LTX Michelins will out last and ride smoother then any tire on the market and thats why this guy will never buy anything else. Have had these tires for 6 years now on a 2002 Nissan Xterra. Got them for the mileage warranty and the supposed superior traction. These tires have about 30,000 miles on them and only have 4/32nds left of tread. Definitely did not make the 70,000 miles. They never got any flats though. They have been decent tires in wet weather and snow, but nowhere near dedicated snow tires. They were fairly quiet brand new, but got much louder as they wore down. After 6 years and being on a car that is outside almost all the time, they have developed a good amount of age cracking which is expected from really any tire that sits out in the sun, rain, heat, and cold like they do. For the price of the tire, though, you can get other tires that are nearly the same for much less money. I don't think I'll purchase another set of these tires.

The Jeep needed new shoes. What to do? Read reviews. Look at tires. Kick some of them. And then buy a set of Michelin LTX M/S. This Jeep doesn't do soccer games, but it does do snow -- wet, deep and powder plus all conditions inbetween. No wonder Eskimos have so many names for snow! The LTX tread pattern combined with siping provided a great balance in all those conditions, plus forays into some fairly serious rocky off-road trails with nary a slip. They are predictible in the twisties and quiet on freeway concrete, even with rain-groves. The wear-bars are starting to peek through and soon fall will be coming -- and the Jeep is getting some new shoes. Another set of LTXs, size 245/65-17

Fantastic wear, very quiet and affirmative ride. It is a very capable tire. Most tires have peaks in performance in certain areas at the sacrifice of others. Not this tire, it is a good all-rounder and a solid performer no matter the conditions. This is a reflection of Michellin: strong, consistent, and quality products.
