Solid Tire for F150 (Heavy Duty Payload Package)

I purchased my first set of Defenders about 3 years ago. 245-75-17s (with "E" duty rating). Long story short, I got 90,000 miles on my first set of Defenders. I towed as much as 6,000 pounds on these tires, and loaded upwards of 3,200 in the bed of the truck on these tires. I was impressed, and continued to remain impressed. I could have reached 100,000 on this first set of Defenders but I do have my limits. I recently upgraded to larger tires for my truck. 285-70-17s. I stayed with the Defenders. So far, so good.

Michelin are at least what they are advertised to be

I am 67, and began driving while being supervised at age 15. I was a professional truck driver for many years. I have had or driven dozens of cars, pickups, vans, straight trucks and semi trucks. I am not aware of any brand or tread pattern better than the Michelin LTX M/S. I have watched others experience the tires of their choices, how they made noise or the tread disappeared, or their choices were not even close to the Michelin on wet roads. Other than one source selling the same tire for less, I have not yet heard of or experienced a better tire. I am hoping to, by buying the new Defender for my van.. Thank you Michelin. Sincerely.

Great tire, great look

Purchased a set of Defender LTXms yesterday for my 2019 F150 4x4 and couldn’t be happier. I’ve had them on other vehicles, on the Wifes Outback now, and never have been disappointed. I mainly highway drive and occasional pull a 3k lb camper and these just work. The drive home was smooth and quiet and they look awesome!

Had these tires on 2 SUVs ...

Had these tires on 2 SUVs (Suburban and Explorer) with similar results. Both vehicles handled like dreams even in snowy central New York winters. What topped it off was incredible mileage. I rotate tires regularly and check air pressure frequently but I wasn't expecting 60K+ miles from these 2 vehicles. OEM and other branded tires lasted 30-35K before requiring replacement. Overall, I would recommend to everybody!

Michelin Defender LTX's on 1 Ton SRW GMC Denali Diesel

Just had my oil changed on my GMC 3500 Duramax SRW. They were checking tire pressure and pointed out that the max tire pressure on my Michelin Defender LTX 265/70R18's on the front of my 1 Ton Truck are 44psi MAX COLD PRESSURE. The rear tires, same size, same tread pattern, same sidewall, same markings, is 80psi MAX COLD PRESSURE. Wow, the only difference i can see on the tires is three little numbers and evidently distinguish tire "rating". A great tire, this is my third set, but buyer beware that you may not be getting the appropriate tire (different speed/weight rated Defender Tires are absolutely mirror images) rated for your vehicle...MY mistake for not checking it AND Michelin's for making the tires exactly the same to the undeducated consumer. Guess that explains the blowout i had on I80 and the destroyed wheel...and thankful that after three trips from Nevada with a trailer in tow twice, once to Delaware, once to Florida, and another to Texas were without an accident...I need to go replace them before i tow my Toyhauler or Gooseneck Eqluipment Trailer again.

Tire got high ratings for ...

Tire got high ratings for wet braking and low rolling resistance from evaluation against multiple other tires. I've had no problems with braking on wet surfaces, and I drive a truck, so I can't really comment on whether rolling resistance helped. They won't come anywhere near to lasting 60,000 miles, but that wasn't why I bought them; a pickup truck in Texas needs good braking, a good grip, and the price of gas drives the need for low rolling resistance. I'm not at all displeased with these tires, and I've owned Michelins since the first time I replaced the OEM tires in 2004 (bought truck in 2000).

As good as I expected

After considerable research for replacement tires on my SUV, I selected the Michelin LTX M/S. The tires are relatively quite on the freeway and their tread design gives me a feeling of confidence in the curves. Very nice tires. Worth a little extra cost.

Great Tire

This tire was highly rated in all the research I did, and it hasn't disappointed. I've had these about 9 months and in all weather conditions they've provided excellent traction, while wearing well. That's a huge change from the stock tires that came with my Highlander, which wore out in 40,000 miles. Sure, the better tread is a little louder, and it cut a mile or two off my gas mileage, but I'm glad I bought the LTX tires and will be looking at Michelins for my wife's car next.

We purchased our tires ...

We purchased our tires for our 2005 Ford Excursion 16 months ago. We have 7 kids and drive roughly 30-50,000 miles a year between practice, games, and visiting out of state family. We trust Michelin to be the safest and all round best choice for our family. Thank you.
