Want white letters man
2 out of 5 stars review

You should call them brown letter tires

I have had 5-6 sets of these tires over the years and always loved them. They ride great and USED to have white letters and looked great. The last set I got, the letters turn brown. I can get them fairly white again but they turn brown, even without driving the car! Unless there is a solution I will look into buying Mickey Thompson’s from now on

Love these tires

I install a set on my 1998 truck/SUV, and have been please since than. Great tire, I have over 50,000 on these tires and when they wear out I plan to buy a second set. Great in all kinds of weather conditions. I also going to put a set of new wheels on the vehicle 15x8 and the two should go just great together. Good job BF Goodrich keep it up.

I have had these tires on ...

I have had these tires on my 85GT since I bought it in 1994. I now have 220,000 miles on the car and am only on my third set of tires (brand new, at the moment) They look fantastic and handle very well, even on wet pavement. The white-letters look perfect on these older muscle cars. They are very resonably priced and excellent quality. I will never put a different tire on this car !

Excellant Tire

Have used the (P245s, P255s and P275s) /60r15 series tires on cars for many years. These size tires fit the muscle cars of the 60s and 70s great. The traction and handling are great. No one else comes close in a tire for great street driving and cruising. True for ultimate traction there are others out there but when you consider street driving these tires are Excellent.

White letters won't stay white!!!!!

Bought a set of BFG T/As for my restored Mopar. Last set of these same tires I purchased in 1999, always stayed white. These new ones won't even stay white while being parked in a dark garage. At least the 2 on the front won't. The fronts are 215/70Ă—14. The rears are 255/60Ă—15 and they will stay white a lot longer than the fronts. Very disappointed in the looks of these white letters. Love the tread pattern and the ride, but hate the brown letters. These new ones don't even have 500 miles on them yet. What has been changed over the years ro cause the major problem??

GREAT TIRES

I've been running B.F.Goodrich tires on all my cars and trucks sense the 80's have never had any problems with any of there tires and just last year we replaced all 6 vehicle's tires and believe me my wife is the roughest on the tires of the cars she drives.

White Lettered Tired turn brown.

Like a lot of others, my BFG tires I purchased a year ago are brown white letters not white. I put 200 miles on the car in the year, so its not driving that causes it. Like others, I have tried wet sand, scrubbing, bleach, turpentine, steel wool and nothing makes them white. It ruins the look of the car when you take it to a show. My local tire guys says nothing wrong with the tires That is not acceptable. Where or who do you contact at BFG to see why the problem and how to correct?

My father worked for ...

My father worked for Firestone for 36 years, I have B.F. Goodrich tires on everything I own, I have Comp T/A's, All Terrian, heck I have Radial T/A's on my boat trailer. Great tires, in every style, great ride, great handling, low road noise, just an excellent product.

Great Tire Great Traction

Great tire. 2 sets. 2wd v6 SLT club cab Dakota. 255/70R15. Excellent wet and dry traction. They corner and BRAKE Well! Several emergency stops in Dallas where my other tires would have failed me. There wear somewhat quickly but 40k isn't bad for excellent traction even down to the bone. If you get 60k... that is hard rubber that won't stop you. I switched to the Rugged Terrain T/A on my Dakota now since I now need a little better offroad gravel traction.

Brown Letters

My 155-80r15s are one month old. I bought them specifically because I like the bright contrast of the raised letter look. They began to turn brown immediately upon washing off the "blue". I have noticed other T/A radials that look similar, but I have noted some older ones that are brilliant white. Even some older T/A All Terrains that looked perfect. Lots of your people trying lots of different things but I am not sensing a permanent solution. I can't imagine Michelin messing with the compounding formula. How can they allow this to go on? They certainly know about it! It seems to me to be a QC/QA issue. And I am worried about what one commenter said, that they got to the point of a permanent stain he could not correct! I've tried old formula bleach-white, acetone, lacquer thinner and turpentine. I've put carabuna wax over the "GOOD" in Goodrich to see if it makes any difference. Nothing so far has worked perfectly. They are never brilliant white and they always revert. All I can do is spread the work among collectors to stay away from these tires and encourage Cooker to come up with a BFG equivalent that gives you what you pay for. On a low mileage collector car I am now stuck with these for years cleaning them letter by letter prior to showings. Good luck.
