Was up in Rhode Island visiting relatives and we went out to eat at a new seafood place. Usually when we go out I end up drinking water with lime because the restaurants only cater to weird yuppie vodka or rum based cocktails. Much to my surprise as we walk by the bar while being shown to our table I spied a bottle of Black Barrel sitting all alone on the top shelf (the server did not know what it was or how it got there) needless to say that bottle and I became well acquainted that evening. For me it was the high point of the trip.

I think the black barrel is missed by a lot of folks. If I am out somewhere and skeptical of the cocktail/inventory situation, the minute I see they have a black barrel on the shelf, I order it neat. I think people overlook this bottle and it is quite good. I had the opportunity to bottle my own bottle of black barrel while onsite at the distillery and it is delicious! The flavor profile is just a whole different level from regular Jameson.

My first experience with Jameson black barrel was during a tour of the bow street facility in Dublin Ireland at the end of the tour we did a whiskey tasting and they had several different whisky's brands for tasting and Jameson had the best scent and the most flavor the other brands I tasted seemed watered down compared to Jameson. After I returned home I tried several different whisky's including some included in the tasting and still nothing was as good as Jameson. Now the only whiskey I drink is Jameson black barrel.

Jameson Black Barrel offers a smooth, rich flavor with notes of caramel, toasted wood, and a subtle hint of spice. Aged in charred oak barrels, it delivers a slightly sweeter, fuller taste compared to regular Jameson. Perfect for sipping or mixing in cocktails.

Loving the Black Barrel, as a wine & spirit ambassador (S. Florida) I rep many brands and always find a hit with most Jameson samplers, especially the Orange and Black Barrel. It full body, slight smokey weight on my pallet offered the next level of depth. So happy Jameson Brand has branched out in so many directions, a good choice for any Whiskey lover for sure!
