The cake was decorated very nicely. I purchased it Christmas eve for Christmas birthday. However, when we cut into the cake it was way too moist and wet. If you are planning to eat it right away I think it is okay. I guess I should had known a sponge cake it like a sponge. I was very disappointed. We each had a small piece and the rest went into the garbage. I think it would be very helpful if Sam's Club would put a label advising customers this is not a cake to store overnight. Yes, we refrigerated it too. Also the white topping was tasteless. No flavor at all.

Bought this cake for NYE dinner and had high hopes. This was supposed to be the star of my dinner in case my tempura dish was epic fail. I think this was frozen prior to my purchase because when I served it there was a puddle of milk at the bottom and instead of moist the cake was soggy. For $18, this was a waste. Thankfully, my tempura rose to the occasion and eclipsed the watery dessert.

Today, I contacted Sterling Sam’s Club about their policy for ordering cakes since there seems to be differences in Sam Clubs. I spoke with two persons with heavy accents from the bakery. The first person who answered the phone gave the phone to another person as they both laughed in the background for a while before the second worker spoke with me. When I asked if I was permitted to order a cake for the Fourth of July today, she responded that if I put the order in today online there would be no guarantee that my order will be filled on the Fourth of July if there are large orders for that day. I proceeded to take a chance to order the cake today. I failed to follow through with the order when I was being charged $4.00 extra to pick up the cake from this particular location. I had just placed an order online at a Sam Club location in my area in Chesapeake, Virginia and wasn’t charged the extra $4:00 . Also, I was not told by the Sam’s Club in my area that my order may not be filled. I just decided to find another place to purchase a cake for my brother in law’s birthday when I get to the area. Apparently, this Sam’ Club doesn’t want my business this year. I had ordered birthday cakes for my brother in law from them the last two years with no issues. Why is there an extra charge for pickup at this particular location when ordering online, but not in the Chesapeake store? If Sam Club makes this true for all cakes ordered online, Sam Club bakery will no longer be used by me.

We did NOT like this cake. Between four of us no one liked it. There was a strawberry jam on top, not actual strawberries like shown in the photo which was fine because we purchased in store and knew what we were getting. If you order online be prepared for the cake to have jam in place of actual berries. The cake itself did not have much flavor and was extremely wet. It was just an odd cake. I wouldn't buy it again.

Looked so good, but it was one of the soggiest nastiest cakes I've ever had in my life!!! I'm not even sure how they were allowed to sell that cake, it was SO soggy & the chocolate pieces didn't even taste like chocolate. I'd rather make store boxed cake than eat that. Wish I could have got my money back. Complete waste of money!!! Had to throw out more than half of the cake in the trash! This will make you extreamly sick, don't reccomend!
