This comes with 3 pieces, a nice large heavy stock pot with lid and a cast iron skillet. The skillet has a rubber cover for the handle which I love. No more reaching for a pot holders. This all came at a very good price. I love the color of the stock pot.

While otherwise well made, the Sam's ad says the dutch oven handles 550 degrees, but paperwork with cookware says it only handles 400 degrees, 50 degrees less even than similar dutch ovens by the same manufacturer. Why can't it even handle 450 degrees, a common temperature to make bread in a dutch oven? Because for THIS combo they use a plastic lid handle instead of stainless steel. If you want the 50 degree upgrade, contact the manufacturer and they will sell you the stainless handle for $15 (shipping and handling included).

Received a pair of Tramontina dutch ovens a couple of years ago and love cooking with them, Unfortunately the enamel coating in the bottom does not last. I am primarily browning first, then slow cooking/braising in a 250-300 degree oven. (Think boeuf beef bourguignon, carnitas, coq au vin, potatoes au gratin, pot roast, etc.) The food comes out wonderful, but the enamel finish is like dirty sandpaper on the bottom after about 20-25 uses. It has already "uglied out" for presentation so I can't take it to a pot luck, but I guess I'll have to keep using. Unless they have changed their enamel coating/procedure, I would not recommend this brand of enameled cast iron cookware.

I loved both items. I have used the Dutch Oven to boil and works great with the lid on. The skillet also works good but you have to season it after each use to keep it looking pretty and shiny. I look forward to fully have my skillet seasoned over the years.

First - this set is a great bargain for the price. I really only needed the dutch oven, which I purchased for baking sourdough bread (note that this is also how it is pictured). The description states that it is oven safe to 550 F, but when I preheated it to 500 F, the handle cracked. I would have removed the handle had it not stated the temperature it was rated at. So I am disappointed. I have ordered a replacement stainless steel handle which hopefully will fair better in the oven. We have not used the cast iron frying pan yet, but it is a nice size for a retired couple, especially compared to the big one I already have.

Not as advertised. Dutch oven is only oven safe to 400 degrees, per the inserted leaflet. Contacted Tramontina and they confirmed that the lid handle on the oven sold by Sam'S Club cannot handle temperatures over 400 degrees. The ones the sell with the stainless steel handles can go at least to 450 degrees. To use the oven to bake bread. It needs to handle the higher temp, so product was returned. Gave 2 stars because, other than the handle, the oven and frying pan are well made.

I have the 6 qt. Dutch oven and absolutely love it! I bought this particular set for a household shower. The recipient said she loved it and would find it very useful. I have bought about 6 of the Dutch ovens, for myself and for gifts. One of the Dutch ovens even sailed from Charleston, SC to St. Thomas and is being used there on a regular basis.

Who do we contact for the paint chipping from the cast-iron? I love this Dutch oven so much, but the paint is chipping in several places — on the lid and pot. I purchased this item about a year ago and I use it approximately twice per month. I would not recommend this product to a friend due to the paint chipping at this time.

I absolutely love this set. The skillet is well seasoned comes clean with ease. This is my first enameld dutch oven. I love it! Made a pot of brisket stew on simmer for hours and it was the best i ever made. I'll use this me than my multi cooker.
