We purchased a bottle of this wine at a local grocery store where it was a featured selection. After enjoying a taste of it, we returned to the store and bought a case. Yes, 1924 is my house wine. Has to be the bourbon barrel aged wine though. I love the rich full bodied taste. The reasonable price keeps me buying more and more of it. I’m not a wine aficionado, but like most everyone if I like something I tend to partake of it. What I like is when wine enthusiasts come over and I serve it, I love their positive reaction. While I understand it isn’t meant to be a sweet wine, the bitterness was overwhelming. I was expecting a fuller-bodied wine with more complex notes, but this one fell short. There are plenty of better options available at a similar price that don’t have this flavor issue. I had higher expectations, especially since it’s labeled as “barrel-aged.” Sadly, I was disappointed by the lack of flavor. Additionally, the cork broke into multiple pieces, which can happen, but it only made my experience worse.

I was gifted a bottle of 1924 Double Black Bourbon Barrel about 9 months ago. I had been searching for my new drink of choice and this is it! I have loved bourbon all of my life. However, I wanted to find a wine that I enjoyed also. This 1924 Double Black Bourbon barrel is what I have been searching for. Do not misunderstand me, it does not have a bourbon flavor. However, my taste lean toward smooth bold flavors and 1924 Double Black gives me just that! I often try other wines while out at restaurants and am always a little disappointed they do not measure up to the smooth bold and never bitter flavors of 1924. I look forward to my next glass as I write this review. Well done 1924 Wines!

This was displayed at Wine Anthology. I saw Bourbon Barrel Aged (fan), Cabernet Sauvignon (fan) and the right price ;-) and said...ehhh, I'll give it shot. I love it! It made my short list favorites. You have to take your time with it though... I'll be buying more tomorrow...... if it's not sold out.

I bought 2 bottles today in our local grocery store in Scottsdale Az. I am a bourbon girl (well 70 is not a girl). I LOVE this wonderful wine. The store only had two bottles and I bought them both think in a bourbon barrel. I had seen some shows about using bourbon barrels for scotch and wines. It is wonderful. Just hope I can find some more bottles. Anyone thinking about getting it DO IT. I even called my son in Washington state to look out for it. He is really not a wine drinker but he would this one. I hope you all are ok with all the fires. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

About 15 yrs ago I decided I would give wine a try. If it was sugary and foo foo, I was all about it. I grew up and migrated from Lambrusco to Merlot. Accidentally got your 1924 Cab one day, and was hooked. In the last 2 yrs I have discovered bourbon barrel aged Cabs. Our local grocery store carries yours at VERY reasonable prices too. I buy it at least 2 times a month. I love everything about this wine. Keep up the hard work putting out quality product.
