This tire is an excellent choice for hwy. handling. We drove 1200 miles in very wet conditions including storms and noticed immediately how much better the vehicle handled the wet pavement. Is a little noisier but I expected that being this is a SUV.

I recently purchaced a 2017 Chevy Colorado. The tires that came on it were possibly ok can't really evaluate them as I replace them with the Michelins promptly after purchasing the truck. The reason I replaced the original tires was due to previously having LTX tires on my previous truck that lasted 11years with no problems, a smooth and quiet ride and excellent performance. Best tire ever made for large vehicles that primarily drive on the street. As a small business owner with service vehicles we have purchased a lot of these tires. Why did I rate them a three? Because Michelin cares more about longevity than safety. This goes for all of their truck tires. These tires are the best tires on the road for the first 45,000 miles of tread life and then the rubber compound gets harder and harder as they continue to wear making them so slippery that they easily hydroplane and barely get a good grip on some hard dry surfaces. Do yourself a favor and consider them a 50,000 mile tire. I noticed they are fading these out for the Platinum Edition with a high mileage rating. I'll probably try them soon but I'm sure it's the same result.

Picked up a 2019 Nissan Titan pickup with Goodyear tires, after one highway trip I noticed a slight vibration at 65 mph. Thought about it for about one second and had my local tire shop order me a set of defender 275/20’s. The tires are 33 inch anyway put on Michelin’s and the truck is as smooth as silk. Good thing there is a tire company that can make a big tire with some precision. Another happy customer

Michelin Defender Tires They make great affordable tires, and safety is a must on the mountain in the wintertime. Great performance, smooth riding, quiet tires, very comfortable ride. Installation was a bit pricey,I need 5 new ones on my SUV now. Yes,I recommend these tires.

I was a Michelin Man for life until I got 50,000 miles out of my 70,000 mile LTX M/S tires. I paid the higher price to get the mileage that Michelin is known for so I'm really disappointed. My friends are saying the same- they just don't last like they used to. I highway drive back and forth to work and do the occasional hunting trips in my Nissan Titan LE so there is no reason on my part for the excessive tire wear. Sure, to make it better they will give me the 20% for the wear but that does not cover (1) the extra I paid to begin with and (2) all of the extra cost of going thru the mounting process 20,000 miles earlier than expected.

My first experience was on my new 1997 mini truck. I finally replaced them at 125k miles. They performed very well in all conditions including snow and ice. Cornering and handling was enhanced by these tires. I made up my mind at that time that all my vehicles would have Michelin tires. All my vehicles including three quarter ton and half ton trucks and 9 passenger vehicle. My new mini SUV also has factory issue michelin.

These were the original tires that came with the vehicle. There was still tread on the tires after 88,000 miles. The tread wear indicators had not yet shown. I keep my tires inflated at 34 psi and rotate them twice a year. I decided to replace them with the same Michelin tire as came from Honda with the new truck because of the excellent performance. I could have continued to drive on the tires for another 6-12 mos, but because I will be traveling more than usual this summer I decided to replace them now. Great all weather tire. I live in central Ohio. This winter I had no problems in snow even though the tires had 80K+ miles on them.

I drive a Ford F250 diesel to Mexico and back each year pulling a 10,000 lb trailer so tires are important. I am into my third set of Defenders which realistically last about 75,000 km before tread wear begins to be an issue for long distance travel. Of the 15,000 km per year I drive the truck, half of it is pulling a trailer. I choose these tires not only because Ford recommends them but also because they give me very good fuel economy even pulling a trailer (17 L/km pulling and 8 L/km not pulling).

In 45 years of owning vehicles these are probably the best tires I have ever owned. First I did my research before buying these tires. Along with some other traits, I really wanted a tire with good traction for the snow and ice I experience in Michigan as well as decent rolling resistance so that I would still get good fuel economy with our hybrid electric vehicle. I also wanted a quieter tire and this is difficult to find with a mud and snow tire. I narrowed it down to this Michelin and another name brand tire. After discussing this with my auto mechanic brother he said hands down get the Michelin! I have had these tires on our Hybrid Electric All Wheel Drive Escape for 5 1/2 years now and they have been amazing! Smooth riding and quiet with good rain, snow and ice traction. What has been truly amazing is the tire wear. I have had them on my vehicle for over 6 years and 100000 miles now and am not to the wear bars yet. I honestly think I could safely get another 20000 miles before needing to replace them. FYI, I once had some Uniroyal tires that had 80000 miles with tread still left but they lost all grip as the tires had solidified into a hard plastic like compound. These Michelins are still pliable and get very good traction! Just a reminder that in order to maximize performance and longevity, suspension components such as ball joints and shock absorbers need to be kept in good working order and the wheel alignment needs to be in spec and the tires inflated properly and rotated (being an automotive test engineer I know better and rotate front to rear only and do so every 10000 miles at most).
